OK guys, can I have a comprehensive list of what's good and what's not at our favourite German store ... have decided Mr Tesco is getting too much of my hard-earned cash (just spent over £80 for a week's shop for DH, DS and I - OK OK I bought a few extras ... lightbulbs and a chocolate advent calendar - pleez!).

So - I know a lot of Lidl products were mentioned on the Money-Saving Tips thread but would appreciate your likes and dislikes in one place!!!!

Oh, NOW I realise why the grumpy checkout person was so narky because it took me so long to pack my bags. Thank you for that. Incidentally, they don't have trollies for car seats.

Well, we did our first Lidl shop yesterday too and thanks for the Prosecco recommendation, how fab is that for £2.99?! Also bought
peanut butter (v similar ingredients to Sunpat but much cheaper)
smoked salmon
loo roll
olive oil
Sunflower oil
and some other store cupboard type stuff too.
Wasn't sure whether the W5 washing powder was a false economy but some of you reckon it's OK so I'll get some next time. Thanks!

Eastenders are converts too apparently - DD2 noticed someone carrying the kitten toilet roll pack in a street scene and there was a black floral box of tissues on somebody's table!

My dh says I live in Lidl!! What do I like?? Hmmm,......
Black bin bags in a roll
W5 washing liquid and softener
salami
brie
vanilla and chocolate puddings
multi-vitamin friut juice
all their juices are cheap and yummy
instant mash (called puree - very inticing!! )
olive oil
sausages
German chocolate and sweets esp. the Christmas and Easter stuff.
Could go on, but too much to choose from!!
BTW, the Christmas stuff is coming in now - just had to exert hugr willpower this morning! Did get a fab pair of Birkenstock type fleecy slippers for £4.99 though!!
