tomorrow night with DP for the big MN Xmas meet up because he wont take a bottle of EBM. He last did it at about 3 weeks old.

He puts it in his mouth, does a few sucks and spits it out in disgust. (which as it happens is what he has been doing with most solids too). He is 31 weeks/7 1/2 mths. Then has has a huge hissy fit.

I have to leave at about 5.30-6pm ish to get there so i could do his last feed of the day then (instead of 6.30pm 7ish). However, he does sometimes stir in the evening/early morning for a feed (probably due to the not taking solids).

Someone please reassure me or give me some good advice to DP or i cant go.

I have been trying this the last few days now. He has been taking one bottle a day (last feed of the day) with DP. Havent tried giving him a bottle myself yet though. Im somewhat alarmed that i can express at least 10 fl oz with no trouble at all and that DS will drink a 9 floz bottle and still seem to want more. We only did a full bottle first time to see how much he would drink (for next time) but he gobbled the lot!

Self weaning is working. Was v impressed yesterday with DS sucking on a cooked carrot baton for ages and ages. He did eventually manage to break it in half in his mouth (my mum was hovering and panicking about him choking etc but had to say he looked like he was really enjoying it).

I found evidence of him having swallowed some too this morning .

Am trying bananas too - its a rather messy meal time that one but he likes it.

He is also taking some puree off a spoon now too if offered.

He is now sleeping right through again (till 7.30am Sunday morning - thank god! and 5.30am this morning).

Hooray! Back to some normality again.
