Too mnuch, I have already spent about £200 on my 2ds and none of it was on their xmas lists! Its all so expensive.

vickiyumyum · 25/11/2005 13:16

too much, although not finished yet! still have relatives presents to get my m & d mil and fil, my aunties kids and uncles kids and that i think is that. so not too much more so hoping to have spent about the £500 mark. have serioulsy cut down on ds1&2 presents this year.

will probably spend about another £200-300 on food and drink as everyone coming to us this year.

chjlly · 25/11/2005 13:21

nothing! although I don't know if that is good or bad yet!

lastofthemulledwine · 25/11/2005 13:28

£175, bought all of the presents and nibbly type food, sweets, chocolates etc.

Just need to get tree, some new decorations and the fresh bits to cook on the day.

princesspeahead · 25/11/2005 13:39

hahahahahahaha (nervous laughter)
lots
but I have 60 presents to buy, not including my dh and three children...
I don't even think about the cost of tree and food etc as it is so negligible compared to everything else!

compo · 25/11/2005 13:49

£10 each on 6 nephews and neices - £60
18 month ds - £20
Dh - £50
Mum and Dad - £25
Total - £155

megandsoph · 25/11/2005 13:52

0, zero, not a red cent.

mugface · 25/11/2005 14:14

oh god, this has just got me adding it all up.

ds1 and ds2 about £400 between them ( it sure doesn't look like 400 pounds worth)

bought for 25 other people (including chocs etc for teachers) £150

and i still have food to buy and something for dh....aaaargh

Stargazer · 25/11/2005 14:44

Haven't even started yet! Keep thinking if I put if off it'll go away. Not that I don't like Christmas - I do!! Love it, love seeing the family and we have fun. Just hate getting all the shopping and the busy, busy shops - will probably get it all off internet

teeavee · 25/11/2005 14:47

I've spent about £50-60 so far.
I'm going to a children's book fair on Sunday, will get all remaining children's pressies there.
Will get stuff for my parents and dp at the last minute psobably.

I never spend much more than £100-150, sometimes less, depends on my festive mood that year!
Don't bother with many cards either - only send them to people I genuinely want to contact.

crimbocrazydazy · 25/11/2005 14:50

Daren't tell you!!! A ridiculous amount on the children but I solely blame it on DP as he's always the same at Xmas!!! Have bought bits for family too but it could be close to the £500 mark easily and we haven't got each other anything yet!!!!

mugface, is buying presents for the teachers the norm? It hadn't even occured to me that I'd have to think about them as well. I thought it was just after the end of each school year.

PruniStuffing · 25/11/2005 15:50

£25. Books I saw for people and knew I'd forget, so got them when I saw them.

Nothing - but nothing - else is organised.

Some MNetters are scaaaaaarily ahead.....

Blu · 25/11/2005 15:55

I did buy two packs of minimalist white gift tags in Mujii the other day,

that's a good start, isn't it?

fairydust · 25/11/2005 16:09

About £700 so far - but that does include an xbox360 for dh all dd's presents and family presents.

Need to get dh another present and want to get my sister something else.

fairydust · 25/11/2005 16:09

Also get got to get food on top of that for xmas as we're having guests nearly all xmas.

Girly · 25/11/2005 16:11

too much according to dh

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 25/11/2005 16:11

I had a massive shopping spree at the Trafford Centre last month and paid for everything on the credit card.

I've been dreading it coming and it did this week....

£500

Dh nearly died

Nemo1977 · 25/11/2005 16:30

WE have spent about £150 altogether and have all presents apart from one for FIL which I know is £17. Need to buy some fresh bits of food but have bought tescos tokens through the year so ahve about £60 for that.

hercules · 25/11/2005 16:33

What do you buy for a child that can cost over a 100 pounds? Ds will have about 50 pounds spent on him and he's 10. DD (2) about 20 pounds. Dh about 10.

tallulah · 25/11/2005 17:08

Zero. Nada. It's not December yet

starlover · 25/11/2005 17:11

i have spent about...

£30 on ds
£40 on dp (presents from me and ds)
£50 on parents
£30 on friends
£10 on ingredients for christmas pud and cake

erm.. think that's it
