...and is it more or less than yours?

Anyone tried Asda for baby clothes?? Really nice range and best of all...very cheap!

marialuisa · 15/10/2003 19:29

DD definitely has more and better clothes than me. This is mainly because I hate buting clothes for myself but love shopping. So today she wore schhool uniform: hat 15
dress 15
blazer 30
cardigan 15
fleece 15
socks 2
start rite shoes 35

Out of school she's the Gymboree kid, because I love their stuff, so easy to wash and there's always a sale on. Did get some lovely hats, scarves nd gloves from monsoon for her though.

I'm wearing: skirt-trendy, expensive make but donated to me by 18 year old sister because it's too big for her
lycra top 5 in benetton sale
boots 80 in Ravel sale.

I think Boden is c**p, but i'm diappointed that DD is a bit too big for Catimini stuff now.

CnR · 15/10/2003 19:51

Just got Boden catalogue today. Have to say I was disappointed as there wasn't re\ally anything I fancy for DD at all.

GillW · 15/10/2003 21:33

Today ds has Gap jumper and Next trousers (50p each from our local car boot sale), a coat from ebay (about £5 with the postage) and trainers from Tesco (£8).

Mine (matching skirt, top and scarf, and black jacket with black leather shoes) cost more - but overall I probably spend more on ds because he keeps growing out of his while mine have to last for years!

Carriel · 16/10/2003 18:07

boring mumsnet ad - but for those who don't hate Boden (and don't know this already)you can get 10% off plus free postage and free returns if you buy through mumsnet. Button is on top of home page (oh and mumsnet get a (small) commission too...all helps the cause.)

binker · 18/10/2003 16:45

arrgghhh! I've just spent £58 on some winter shoes for ds - am feeling a bit shocked !

RockingRosebud · 18/10/2003 21:52

Sorry, but I love Boden, DS age 8 is not inspired though. DD 4 is always trawling through the catalogue.

Today DS went to Arsenal and wore his away shirt £20 and Tesco trackies only £2.50 (bargain!). Trainers from Clarks as he has dodgy feet £30.

DD wore jean bootlegs from M&S but bought from bootsale £1 and Boden top £14. Clarks flashing trainers £30 ish. Long line hairy cardi from Next £18.

I wore Per Una jeans with pattern up the legs, Monsoon t-shirt and ssshhhh Boden long cardi with a mongolian wool collar. On my feet I had my Scholls. About £150 in all.

tallulah · 19/10/2003 09:28

DS3 (12) is in Gap zip-offs (£1.99 from Outlet) & Matalan t-shirt (£4.50 for 2) with trainers from Donnay (£12). It's great having a designer outlet village on the doorstep!

leander · 19/10/2003 12:23

Ds 21 mths is wearing jeans from next £12 tshirt also next£2-50 in sale jumper matalan £8 and timberland boots £11 bargain from an outlet village,oh and his BTB socks which I have trouble getting them off him.

Posey · 19/10/2003 20:46

Both in bed but today they wore:
DD (6) Gap jeans with flower detail: £9.99 in sale
Gap T-shirt (present from SIL)
Jumper from Primark (present from friend)
Trainers from Next (£6.99 in sale)
DS (10m) Dungarees and top (handmedown from Next)
Socks 99p in Gap sale
Soft shoes (present)

CnR · 19/10/2003 22:42

I managed to buy DD a lovely pair of trousers in the Gap sale yesterday (worn today), reduced from £29.50 to £12. Lovely they are too.

We also have a factory outlet shop near us called S R Gents - they make a lot of Osh Kosh B'Gosh clothes and I managed to get her some long and short sleeved t-shirts from there recently at just £5 a go.

DebL · 20/10/2003 12:08

DD aged 16 mths
Tot bot nappy - more than paid for itself!!
Osh Kosh Dungarees £12 from TK Maxx,
M&S fleece top - pressie,
vest - M&S £9 pack of 7
Red Boots - Buckle my Shoe £14 TK Maxx (really annoyed cos just spent £45 on blue boots same make a week earlier!!)

I tend to spend more on DD than myself, DH works for Next and we have access to staff shop, and 25% discount on all clothing. have quite a lot of staff shop sale stuff, e.g. 50p shorts, £1 teeshirts, £1 shoes and trainers Her last winter coat was £10 (£30 full price!!)

I am a bit fed up with all the pink stuff Next seem to have in for girls at the moment.

zebra · 20/10/2003 13:03

DS is almost 4yo and wearing a shirt I bought him in Next for about £6, and some black shoes that were £18. I think I bought his socks, £1-£2 for the pair? Everything else the kids are wearing today (from coats to boots to trousers to pants to vests) -- were gifts from other people.

Funny enough, I'm wearing Levi jeans that must have cost me a good £15 (12 years ago, Bob-The-Builder patch on the knee), and everything else was a gift or a freebie. We're tightwads in this household, I tell ya'. Have never even considered buying anything from Boden, I thought buying something in Next was "daring".

bluecow · 21/10/2003 13:14

Have just discovered Boden and think their stuff's lovely. Am trying to wean myself off New Look so their stuff does seem pricey to me at the mo!

DS (one this week) wearing Next t-shirt and tracky bottoms from summer sale with M and S hooded cardi (£7 in sale).

Me (15 weeks pregnant) in purple top from Debenhams and elasticated black trousers from Etam! Think mine slightly more, but not much!

poppyknot · 21/10/2003 13:40

DD1 in navy blue padded jacket with a soft lining and furry hood from John Lewis (£27 seemed quite expensive but it was the cosiest i could find for the chilly Scottish winter....)
Great H and M boot cut joggers. The best buy this year.
And sadly some pull-ups. We have established that big girls wear pants and that DD1 is a big girl. But unforunaltely she has not put the two together yet.....the third birthday looms.

DD2 in similar hand-me-down (pink without the fur)and various other hand-me-downs but looking very cute.

Our chicest stuff from dear sister in Crouch End!
