after all the recent fuss about the police & bfing in public, i'm wondering what the best thing to say to them would've been??
quite sure i'd have been too shocked/spitting angry to say anything useful or withering at the time...so what d'you reckon would be the best retort??

(partly so i can save them up for future reference... )

"Yes thanks. And if you could possibly sit me next to a couple of smokers, that would be ideal."

SoupDragon · 25/11/2005 12:57

"no, no, I'd rather go and sit in the toilets."

I went to a wedding reception a week after DD was born. No facilities for feeding / changing. DH changed her nappy while sitting on the flight of stairs with her on the landing. Not one guest batted an eye lid, but the waiters did. Where else did they expect us to do it??!

I was with a friend once who bottle feeds her son, and somebody tutted when she started to bottle feed. This was in the middle of Debenhams restaurant. The conversation this woman had with her friend was about how nobody breast feeds anymore. I wonder what her reaction woudl have been if my friend had been breastfeeding!

I've only fed in public twice - once in my car at Tesco carpark, the other in a restaurant. Nobody said anything but I was very discreet about it. My DH would have had a go if anybody had said anything anyway, perhaps along the lines of "what do your customers prefer, my wife breast feeding or my DD screaming the place down while they try to eat their dinner"

dh's suggested response was. "of course officer. Oh and while you're here can I wee in your helmet?" but then he realised that only applies if you're pg
