Ok Girls......Who wants to play my new game?

I'm hoping it will make a very dull life at home a little more exciting.
Here's the shocking bit-
It's about housework
Basically, each Dull dull dull house hold chore will be given a number of points and the winner is the person with the most points at the end of the week.

Ok, not the most exciting MN game but as I hate housework this will really spur me on to get stuff done because I'm a very bad loser.

This will be great for me, anyone else want to join in?

and before you all say it....I am quite aware that I need to get a life, so ner!

Maybe bonus points for cooking dinner from scratch, biscuits and stuff.

OP posts:
auntymandy · 12/11/2005 07:54

Does all ironing count? I do it for someone lse too

auntymandy · 12/11/2005 08:09

half a point an item could it be by time..who wants to count it all?

LadyTophamHatt · 12/11/2005 09:41

I'm going to take the Ds's to the farm today so it'l be minimal point for me today.

hva e been shopping with them all though so that's 8 points!

OP posts:
zaphod · 12/11/2005 09:53

At 5 points per load for washing, I will have at least 70 points at the end of the week. AND if I change all the bedding that will go up by fifteen, for the washing, and by 10 for the changing. I LOVE this game.

zaphod · 12/11/2005 09:54

ds has just weed on his pjs, the fun starts now!

frannyandzooey · 12/11/2005 09:56

How about points for playing with your children?

weesaidie · 12/11/2005 10:26

Hmmm. I may try this!

Have to clean today anyway...

PLan to put away washing - 10 pts
Change sheets - 2 pts
Big clean bathroom - 5 pts
Do and put away dishes - 5 pts
Tidying downstairs and 1 bedroom - 5 pts
Dusting downstairs - 2pts

So 29 points perhaps... lol, we shall see!

weesaidie · 12/11/2005 10:27

Oh wait, am doing two beds so that is 4 pts! Woo hoo.. 31 possible points!

Mercy · 12/11/2005 10:37

LadyTH

I think loading/unloading a dishwasher deserves less points than washing up simply because it's less time consuming and you can be getting on with other jobs.

Could cooking from scratch be included?

weesaidie · 12/11/2005 11:05

Me too! Man I wish I had a dish washer!

kleggie · 12/11/2005 12:06

This is a stupid game for me to play. Yesterday I spent six hours cleaning, tidying, hoovering, washing, dusting, polishing, sweeping. Standing on chairs, kneeling down, climbing ladders, bleach, polish, washing up liquid, detergent, soap powder, limescale remover. There isn't a room in my house that isn't spotless, even the garage.

No, I'm not mad, my mother was due to come to stay last night. She's got that sanctimonious dragging her finger over surfaces and checking for dust on her finger thing down to a fine art. She turned up, took one look at the doorstep, muttered 'that needs a scrub' and STEPPED OVER IT!!! I don't care how many points I won yesterday I want a prize for not throwing every bloody spotlessly clean thing I own at my mother.

Why do I do it to myself?

DelGirl · 12/11/2005 12:13

gosh I feel for you kleggie. I have a sister who is just the same. She is obsessed with cleaning and she came to stay with me after I had dd (she didn't have anywhere else to live at the time). Bear in mind i'd had a c/s and dd was only 8 weeks old when she came, I still got comments for this, that and the other!

I need to take part in this game but i'm not sure about the points though. I quite like the idea of doing a keyboard down, duster in hand, for an hour a day or something but I guess that relies on us all doing it at the same time. I am slowly getting my act together, not before time, dd is 7 months old

QueenEagle · 12/11/2005 12:13

I want to play but can I add bonus points for having to drag a baby round who is very adept at messing up everything within 2 minutes of me cleaning or tidying it? Pleeease?

DelGirl · 12/11/2005 12:14

definately think mums of babies should have extra points

LadyTophamHatt · 12/11/2005 17:26

Bloody hell, as the Games master I should give myself 5000 bonus points today.
Took the Dsses to the farm, spent 2HOURS in the awful play barn and then when we got home I got the bikes out of the shed and took them all to the park with the dog!

Have now prepared dinner(no boxes, all from scratch) and have washing on.

I shall polish my halo once they are all in bed.

Shall I compile another list with all your added bits?
Delgirl, you idea is a good one. Mums with babies under 1yr can start each day with 5 points.
Ladies in the last month of pregancy can also start the day with 5 points.

Additions/ammendments

Cooking from scratch=3points
Washing up=3points
Washing up and putting it all away=5points
Fill dishwasher=1point
Empty dishwasher and put away=2points

OP posts:
JonesTheSteam · 12/11/2005 17:39

OK today have so far

ironed 34 items of clothing
put one load of washing in machine
and tumbledried another
put away ironing (approx 2 loads)
emptied d/washer & put away
fill dishwasher & put on

So I reckon I have 43 1/2 points - that can't be right, can it, LTH?
