I am feeling very upset today, as i went to a play group at the brentwood center and my 14 month old dd likes to wander around and occasionally she will go say hello to the mummys sitting around. Which i don't see as a problem as often i get little ones coming up to me with books or toys etc. But this mum took one look at my dd and told her to 'go away'. Me being the wimp i am just picked up my dd and took her away and the mums sat there and giggled. Why do i feel like crying? how can any mum being so hrrid to another child? and why the hell didn't i tell her to f* off ??????

HI MMM
My nephew/neice are lower down the school.
Really glad you're feeling much better about it. She is definately not worth it.

You have my sympathies, I had an encounter today at playgroup too (a Mum ahouted at my DS because he accidentally knocked into a table and the playdough fell off yet did not bat an eyelid when her little angel ran into DD and knocked her into the wall).

Most Mums are nice and caring towards other peoples kids but the minority either seem to think the sun shines out of their kids bums or they seem to dislike all children including their own, sad, sad, sad.

Stupid woman Westcountrylass - so what if the playdough fell on the floor - no biggie is it!

handlemecarefully · 10/11/2005 22:53

Umm I meant she was the stupid woman not you (just in case that isn't clear!!)

WickedWestCountryLass · 10/11/2005 22:58

I knew what you meant HMC

I wish i'd told her to bog off as well. I am all for keeping everyones kids in check when you're at these groups as sometimes you don't see 'everything' but I wouldn't shout at someone elses children

I didn't say anything today because I was fuming but I will drop something into conversation when I see her next

Silly witch was on her own this week and its amazing how quiet she was.... My dd didn't go anywhere near her so didn't have to say anything!!!

was fun watching her sit all alone though....
