If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why

I'd never want to move permanently (am in Edinburgh) but there are a few places I'd like to live for a few months to a year...

... New Zealand (S. Island)...
... New York/Chicago...
... France - Paris or somewhere in the South...
... Africa, not sure where...

Suffolk. Where I grew up. (Would love to live in New York for a year or so though )

Cabo Roig on the Costa Blanca because it is so sunny. All year round. Sigh.

santa barbara. went there 7 years ago with dh before we were married and thought it was perfect. great weather, great food, great shops, beach nearby. think this whole area of california is fab. best friend lives in san francisco. can't even express how envious I am!

Glad theres a thread on this i was about to start one. I need some ideas of places to move to, to get away from ex unfortuantely. Not london or oxford as too expensive. Need somewhere where cost of living not too high, easy access buses for double buggy or somewhere where i would rarely need a bus, somewhere where there are good toddler groups and lots of them

I would love to live in America, probably California as its lovely and sunny!! Have always wanted to live in America, not sure why, just love the laid back way of life I suppose. Never been there though and probably never will

I'd like to be nearer my family etc, but if I could I'd move them here to Caerleon, so I could have the best of all worlds.

Milky, having just read your post, South Wales would suit you- I chose to study here because of the lifestyle and cheap living costs.
