Kleggie, me and you both! Gimme a quiet beach with white sand, hills, a wee dram and pots of money so me and him wouldn't have to work. We could sit all day staring at the sky. FAB

Barceloooooona! Because it's fabulous, exciting, beautiful, warm, coastal, child-friendly, the food is excellent etc. etc.

But failing that, I'm pretty happy here in Dorset.

myalias · 04/11/2005 14:13

Oh I could live with that ggglimpopo as by the time I could actually afford to live in SOF it wouldn't bother me

fimac1 · 04/11/2005 14:22

San Diego or Monterey, California

Lucycat · 04/11/2005 14:27

Dorset would suit me fine too wessexgirl - sadly I live in the fabulous Stockport!

or alternately Parga in Greece dh and I love it!

wessexgirl · 04/11/2005 14:28

At least you've got better shops than us though, lucycat .

Lucycat · 04/11/2005 14:30

True! it's just too tempting to spend though! Whereabouts on Dorset are you? Dh watches River Cottage every week and positively drools!

wessexgirl · 04/11/2005 14:39

Ah, Hughey boy lives about 9 miles away - I saw him last week at the illuminations at a local botanical gardens, and you can't go to a local farmers market without bumping into the guy.

troublesmummy - depends on where you live but I have lived in a variety of places - coastal towns, tiny country towns and capital cities and enjoyed every place - each has something about it iyswim

fullmoonfiend · 04/11/2005 21:30

Cornwall. Goa.

Linnet · 05/11/2005 00:11

Banff,Canada, sadly we don't qualify for immigration on their points system so it remains a distant dream.
Or maybe Austria or French/swiss border, I like mountains and scenery.

Davros · 05/11/2005 14:39

I thought Carmel was horrible, no character! I'd live where I am in London with second home(s) in Manhattan, Rome and coast South of Rome, oh and don't forget big country house in Suffolk/Norfolk!

LGJ - why Dublin? DH is making noises about moving there for ds' secondary education and I'm dreading it.

I've thought about my ideal place, it think the best would be a wine-producing, mountain region with warm summers and cold winters and really good cuisine (so that rules out Germany ). Possibly Victoria or South Australia, or perhaps the north part of South Island, New Zealand. My greatest fear is that we'll go back to Dublin for the sake of ds' education and I'll never get away again.

Bran

I grew up in Dublin near the sea, the education system is wonderful. I will be if you do.

JenumGeranium · 05/11/2005 17:21

I would like to live in Southport in the same road as my parents - they moved away a few years ago now and hardly see them

When I'm not being soppy, I would love to live anywhere nice by the sea or Dublin/Wicklow

JenumGeranium · 05/11/2005 17:44

Thread killer strikes again!!!!

hahahahahahahahahahaha!

highlander · 05/11/2005 17:44
