It's on the market at oo £62k.... I wanted at least £65k. Offer is £66k, but I've had so much interest and another guy is supposed to be putting in an offer today.

WHAT DO I DOOOOOOOO? Take what he's offered.... or hang off for a better one!

I told the Estate Agent to tell him we had other viewers and would get back to him on Monday. Is that fair?

I just DON'T know what I'm doing!!! We don't have a house to go to yet so what would be a realistic entry date to allow us to find somewhere to live??????

FangAche - so if you put it closing, then he'll be forced to do the survey. At the moment you're not in a much better postion than an "English" seller, as he could always reduce his offer once he's done the survey.

Anyway, good luck - and I hope yoor viewing of the other house in the ssreet that you wanted goes well.

PS Until you've sold, you could always bring your ds over one Saturday to our place. We've got loads of room for the boys to run around - and we can have a nice cuppa while watching them (of course ) from inside. That way, you can keep your house tidy and "boy free" for viewings! Cat me if you fancy arranging something.

PB - Good GOD don't say he'll lower his offer!! If nobody else has put in an offer by the end of today is there any point going to a closing date? I thought it only went to a closing date when there was more than 1 offer?

I'm so crap at all this!

That sounds good PB, in fact, can he just move in for a couple of weeks?

No you don't need to have had two offers before you go to ao clsoing date. When we bought our current house, there were only two ineterested parties - and we certainly hadn't put in an offer.

Normally, it's if more than one potential buyer is "interested" - which it sounds in your case as if there are...... unless your EA is telling porkies or gilding the lily a bit!

So you are perfectly entitled to set a closing date if you want to. Maybe Friday is a bit soon - maybe next Monday would be better.

But at the end of the day I am neither an EA, not do I know your area - so you should really go by the advice of your EA. (says I passing the buck! )

Any news FangAche?

FangAche · 01/11/2005 13:10

PB - I accepted the £66k. Noone else seemed to be interested and I'm sick worrying about it.

So sorry about your news. My house buying saga seems so trivial.

Seb1 - thanks. Our new house is no where near as big or nice (but I am working on that bit) as the whole things was a downsize so I could go back to Uni. We did however get an offer yesterday...way hey....so hopefully we can get things sorted this bloody time.

And you Toothy - whats been happening?

Gomez · 01/11/2005 13:11

Well done Toothy! When is your entry date?

FangAche · 01/11/2005 13:11

Oh I haven't bought anything yet Gomez! I'm giving the guy a provisional entry date of 27th Jan. Do you think that gives us enough time to buy some place else?? Going to see a house this evening. >very worried emoticon

Absolutely missus, end of Jan should be fine.

Also you are in a strong position as it is deffo a buyers market at the moment. How exciting!
