and I have turned into a bag lady! How did that happen?

I swore when I became a SAHM that I would not turn to sweat tops and leggings each morning. I'm all for practical clothes but, Jesus, when did I stop wearing heels?!!! I had my hair tied back in a scrunchie and I'm 38.

Trinny and Susannah where are you when I need you?

Dye it myself most of the time. Once you have the hang of it it takes no time swanny.

Codswallop - clothes definately NOT too tight. Was wearing a very boring, basic, black trouser suit from Next - nothing at all sexy, tight or provocative. feel quite hurt now!

ghengis · 23/09/2003 11:52

Have been wearing heels for about 3 days now and my feet hurt but I must not give in (am just over 5 foot)!

DH has (amazingly) noticed that I look smarter and says it is nice to see I'm making an effort (grrrrrrrrrrr). Will sore feet at the end of the day be worth it I wonder?!

Justlooked at Kew web site - looks great. Think Brent Cross my nearest but the online site due soon maybe my best bet..
I need to get some winter work clothes sorted. Had a change of policy at workj and gone "Smart casual", I've not moved with it and now feel frumpy...Any ideas as to what smart/casual means???

doormat · 23/09/2003 12:06

aloha noticed you are getting tired of combats, have you tried the stretch ruched jeans. i think they are very smart and go nice with a baggy and or crop top.
I dont like bootcut trousers, they remind me of the 70's and the same with them ugg boots, they remind me of those horrid moon boots out years ago.

iota · 23/09/2003 12:14

Have just been getting my cut and colour at the hairdressers and noticed in a mag that straight jeans are back for the winter.

Good, as I'm still wearing them from last time

Frenchgirl · 23/09/2003 12:29

Sonnet, my guess is smart dress and cardie, smart trousers/skirt with nice shirt/jumper, kitten heels or smart flat shoes, no jeans (or maybe really nice ones worn with heels and v nice top?)

bluecow · 23/09/2003 12:40

Lost a tooth and got first grey hair when pg with ds. Never been slim but definitely with ghengis on the 'used to be curvy but now round' thing. Am sure woman in photos with huge chin not me. After have popped d?2 in April will get fit and wear tight jeans (yeah right).

jedy · 23/09/2003 12:41

swanny your joking with leaving them!
wasn't up to date- wellies would prefer yellow.

Sonnet · 23/09/2003 12:50

Thanks Frenchgirl - I'm going on a shopping spree this Friday....
The new woman emerges at work next Tuesday

Sonnet, I agree with Frenchgirl - chino-esque trousers would be OK, jeans possibly if worn in kitten-heeled manner.

Cleavage, of course, never goes out of fashion but is not always quite the thing at work.

marthamoo · 23/09/2003 15:47

Cleavage doesn't go down too well in the playground at hometime either

Yummy Mummy I ain't!

motherinferior · 30/09/2003 20:34

What do we think of Kew then, now it's online?

hoxtonchick · 30/09/2003 20:46

Desperately trying to resist, motherinferior, as I am very poor. But it looks great. I'm just sad that I can't get into all the lovely jigsaw stuff I bought pre-ds. One day....
