isn't it a small world !!

ghosty · 18/10/2005 19:54

JandMsMum ... I live on the other side of the world remember??? So if I am quiet while you are gassing then it is probably 'cos I am sleeping ...
I am pretty certain that you are all talking about the school where I used to teach (the one in the village on the other side of Redhill) ... Worked there for 6 years (3 before DS, full time Yr 4 teacher and 3 after DS parttime Drama teacher). My other SIL works there like JandMsMums says. And my sister lives in Redhill. The Ghosty family is very famous in Raygate you know daaaarlings ...

lol now you've got me intrigued ! We've only really dealt with a handful of staff directly so the chances that I'd have come across her yet are pretty slim.

allhallows · 18/10/2005 20:48

Reigate, Mozambique. Birthplace of Charles Bomba Harris.

dinny · 18/10/2005 20:50

Reigate mum i'd guessed we'd met and I had had similar feelings on that thread another meetup could be in order. My littlest just had his 1st birthday
My friend seems happy with R st M, but i'm probably not the person to ask as its not really my scene. Now if anyone wants to start talking secondary ed i'm much better informed!

ReigateMum · 18/10/2005 21:30

Geogteach - wow, 1 aleady! Where did that year go??
Are you back at work at all - what was it you did? Aren't you a Geography teacher??

ReigateMum · 18/10/2005 21:30

Dinny - yes, do move here, then we have an excuse for a 'welcome party'....

geogteach · 18/10/2005 22:05

Could be time for a name change me thinks! Yes I was, but at 3rd time round finally became SAHM (well did go back briefly for the dosh)

Reigatemumtoo · 18/10/2005 22:18

My favourite thing at this time of year is sitting at the icecream place in the priory with dd all wrapped up in her pushchair and looking at all the changing colours...i love the priory. Except the ducks/geese/seagulls etc did go quite beserk today!

Hi Dinny, we are also looking to rent somewhere new at the mo as the "professional couples flat" is no longer equipped for nearly 1 yr old! Also top end of holmesdale road has become mmmm more cheeky in recent years! There is plenty to choose from on the renting front at the moment, also dh and i are being quite cheeky and asking agents about renting properties that are actually for sale but that we have seen have been empty for ages. This has given us one extra viewing so far! good luck.

ReigateMum · 18/10/2005 22:57

: "Any Surrey Mums fancy a discreet night out then??"

magnolia1 · 18/10/2005 23:22

I'm a Surrey Mum but Epsom way

Do I have to move to come on the night out

Buddhamummy · 18/10/2005 23:24

ooo yes....where to? ive never ventured into "pickled ovaries" any good, i do hear they do the biggest wine glasses ever.

sykes · 18/10/2005 23:25

Would be nice, but a bit worried about who knows who.

Enthusia · 19/10/2005 09:34

Would love to but told by MW yesterday I could drop any day!!!!! At least I wouldn't be far from home!!!!!! 'Tickled Ovaries' I like it

Any other PG Reigate mums to be out there????

ReigateMum · 19/10/2005 11:28

Sykes - why? What do you mean? Worried it would be a clique do you mean??

Well, I know you for starters!

ReigateMum · 19/10/2005 11:30

BuddaMummy - pickled ovaraies - yes - big wine glasses, but you need an extra mortgage to pay for them! (expensive)

However I know the owner, so perhaps I could try to get us a MN discount??

(Or maybe Mums aren't who they are trying to attract?? )

LIZS · 19/10/2005 11:38

"pickled ovaries" I'm very confused now ! Can I be included even though strictly speaking I don't live there ?! btw Sykes, I don't think I recognise anyone yet.

ReigateMum · 19/10/2005 11:59

lizs - Pickled Ovaries = "Tickled Ivory" a rather swanky piano bar at the end of the HIgh Street - so called I'm assuming 'cos it's frequented by pickled young girls looking to have their ovaries tickled??

And yes, of course you can come! In fact you are REQUIRED.....

Anyone want to venture into suggesting any dates/ venues?

The Tapas Bar? ASK? I've got some vouchers for BOGOF at Cafe Uno??

LIZS · 19/10/2005 12:25

lol - actually I have met essbee .

geogteach · 19/10/2005 18:07

Reigate mum I know the owners of said piano bar too, this is indeed a very small town!
I'm in Madrid from tomorrow til Tues but after that i'm up for a night out, haven't been to tapas bar for ages but i'm up for any suggestions
