does anyone else get annoyed at tv presenters with really irritating voices..why would they be employed to do this job when they have such a grating way of talking!?
To cite two examples, car bootie which is on bbc1 at the moment, and place in the sun on c4 in the afternoons..argh they drive me crazy..
I know someone's bound to tell me to turn over or off..but i quite like both shows and am stuck at home pregnant and grumpy with nothing better to do....hehehe

even those expat. too few women on tv have thighs

expatinscotland · 05/10/2005 12:56

True. Many how poncy voices, but few have thighs.

CousinItH · 05/10/2005 12:57

I love Kirsty because she doesn't flap her hands - the number of TV presenters who flap their hands drives me nuts, don't they ever watch themselves?

babyonboard · 05/10/2005 12:59

oooh..this is fun..
the woman who presents 'place in the sun' not only has a really irritating 'sing songy half laughing whilst talking even when she's not saying anything remotely funny' voice..haha hope you can picture it from that incredible description..
but she also seems to think wearing lipstick the same colour as your skin is a great idea...grrrrrr

used to work on a live kids programme - the director used to repeat things like 'don't shout, stop shouting, calm down' in their earpieces all the time! adrenalin rush of live tv does tend to make them shout more

HRHTheDuchessofChaville · 05/10/2005 13:23

Fearne Cotton irritates me beyond belief.

babyonboard · 05/10/2005 13:29

oooh and how could I fail to mention anything and everything about the watchdog presenters..fair enough they are given the awful script and dodgy jokes and links etc..but argh...

Is this all about women? surely the more women on telly the better!!! up the sisterhood - feminist urges today!!!

Donbean · 05/10/2005 13:31

1)There is a new programme called baby squad with her out of Eastenders, Patsy some one or other, she is irritating to the maximum!
She sits all pally with other mums at a kitchen table with matching mugs in front of them and really she should have a shimmering halo of white light behind her. The camera keeps homing in on her face and then she speaks...absolute bloody drivel, with nothing to do with any thing! She narates over the programme and it is very very annoying, her voice is awful.
2) that kids programme Tickabilla, the bird with the blonde pig tails...oooh i could happily punch her lights out. There is just no need to be that patronising and false and bloody high pitched.
3)that dragon thing in Tickabilla, its voice is fu**ing annoying, that thing would look good wrapped round my wheel arch i can tell you.

So, my period is due in about 2 days.......did any one guess that?

Lucyfercat · 05/10/2005 13:34

thingy Brand - a yoof TV presenter with lots of hair, did a forum type show about Big Brother - hideous!!

hang in there donbean!

Donbean · 05/10/2005 13:35

And whats more.....................
but but and yet

babyonboard · 05/10/2005 13:43

well the watchdog presenter is a man...
and I get very annoyed with Jeremy Paxman..though I must admit he is funny..and thumbs up for trying the impossible task of getting a real answer out of a politician.
Jeremy Clarkson anyone?..hehehee..what an ass..
And I hate johnny vaughan on tv, but love his 'capital' radio show...wonder why?

Donbean agree re Patsy Palmer! How flat is her voice, no emotion at all!

Donbean · 05/10/2005 13:55

Patsy Palmer thats the one, yes flat and annoying..thankyou.

melissasmummy · 05/10/2005 14:00

You're welcome, couldn't believe it was her narrating to start with, I don't remember her being that flat in Eastenders!

BTW, don't her teeth look too big for her mouth? From the point of view of a dental nurse, they look huge & unnatural! Deffinilty veneers!

Lucyfercat · 05/10/2005 14:00

OK so all men whose names begin with a 'J'.....

babyonboard · 05/10/2005 14:02

That newish BBC weatherman, long neck, dark hair, who KEEPS emphasising the wrong WORDS and moves HIS hand around the map in a swishy way, as if he's in the flippin' ballet
