Lots of you mums dads and your beloved offspring would profit if instead of spending half your waking lifes glued to a monitor you spent just a little time actually looking after your children.Walking around thinking of what your next contribution will be or who will reply to your last posting instead of living in the real world is creating a generation of orphans who rarely see the front of their mothers as they are always facing the screen.

This is very true. My daughter has to do everything for herself.

Mytwopenceworth · 24/09/2005 18:52

LMAO at this perspective!!

We may joke about mumsnet addiction, but it is actually a very small part of the day!! Of course your children's needs come first! As to walking round thinking of your next contribution, HA!!!! Really, not the case at all!! It is no different to cooking the kids tea, getting them bathed then sitting down and watching the news!!

I do not think there are really any children who have had their needs neglected because mum is on mn! How many threads end abrubptly or people go quiet then say sorry had to pop off and do X for ds/dd?

Donbean · 24/09/2005 18:53

True, i just looked at the clock (on my monitor) and realized ive not even fed my boy since his dad left for work this morning.

Snarl · 24/09/2005 18:54

I was going to say that you obviously don't know my missus, but you obviously do! I'm sure I've pricked a few consciences though!

Walking around planning yur next Mumsnet post is no worse than walking around having a fantasy. don't you do that Snarl?

But I agree about it not being a good idea to spend all day on here. However, don't judge....how do you know the children are with us right now?

GeraldGiraffe · 24/09/2005 18:55

ooer!

SleepySuzy · 24/09/2005 18:55

My daughter is also very good at changing her own nappy, she is going to potty train herself soon.

Donbean · 24/09/2005 18:55

No!
He knows where the fridge is, he is 2 FFS!

Lonelymum · 24/09/2005 18:55

Oh you are a man. Well, you definitely have fantasies then!

Mytwopenceworth · 24/09/2005 18:56

Was that your intention? Cos you've not 'pricked' mine! I know full well my kids have everything they need. mn for me is when they are at school or in bed, or dh is with them!

fairyfly · 24/09/2005 18:56

My kids deserve to do everthing for themselves, if it wasn't for them their father would still be her. I turn round every now and again to remeind them of that.

GeraldGiraffe · 24/09/2005 18:56

Is this really about the kids being abandoned or you though snarl? why don't you ask your dp to spend less time on here?

SleepySuzy · 24/09/2005 18:57

this was my last kid, but he was taken from me, due to mnet addiction
