Did you know it's Christmas?

My local Cash and Carry was putting up a very nice outside display today so it must be Christmas! So I hope you don't mind me mentioning pressies as Christmas can never come too early for me.

Could we please have ideas for different pressies not socks or slippers or anything from M & S.

I'd like to kick off with the website fletcher-woodcraft.freeserve.co.uk. They make wooden handcrafted items (click on GAMES). They make lovely walnut Solitaire sets with marbles for £29.00 and I think they're wonderful and a bit different.

Also how much do people spend on their SIL's and BIL's and neices etc?

Ho ho ho. Merry Christmas.

"To infamy and beyond!", as my two besuited little Buzzes have been saying all Xmas. The misquote is as apt as their costumes are cute and Mr Scummy and I have had a fab time. Kids + Xmas = Good, methinks.

2nd birthday on the 20th + Christmas = crazy toddler completely addicted to chocolate and snowmen and fat mummy and daddy dependent on hourly alcohol and mince pie fix.

ha ha robinW - is it one of yours?

Personally, I love turkey soup, for a day or two -but enough is enough.

Continuing saga of lack of internet access - my modem is not compatible with my laptop - I need a browser and an older style modem - grrrrrr

Happy new year everyone!

Oh Robinw, thank you for the turkey rhyme! My mil always used to get in a 16+ pounder for four of us, two of whom (them!) ate very little. It would last for the whole of our visit, and every day when it appeared (twice a day, in fact - we were only spared breakfast!) she'd say, 'I know people say cold turkey is boring, but I think it's beautiful ...'

Thanks for all the Christmas wishes, glad to hear that mostly a good time was had and that there are no reports of family murders!
Despite numerous resolutions not to travel lots, we spent all bar two days of the Christmas period travelling!!! However, we had our very first Christmas day at home and it was the perfect day. The memory of it kept me sane as we ground our way through the hordes of relatives thereafter.
Happy New Year to you all.
