Adoption: my baby's 16 today

As many of you know I had a baby adopted at birth a long time ago when I was a student. He was born 16 years ago today; so it's been a tough day for me.

A few good friends have always remembered and sent me emails or messages, but no-one has this year. Dh hasn't even mentioned it
I hope my 'birth son' has enjoyed his day!

roisin, I don't know you but this is very moving and I wanted to add another "happy birthday' to your son. I hope he's had a lovely day and I'm sure he thinks of you.

Incidentally DD1 and DD2 both have adopted friends who found their birth mothers once turned 18 and now have close relationships with them.

(When DD2's friend first visited hers she found pictures of herself, at all ages, all over her house! Her foster mother was in touch with both families and passed everything on.)

Oh thank you all so much - I can't tell you how much this means to me. So many messages have really touched me: too many to mention.

And yes, I will print out this thread and keep it.

It's also reminded me I haven't chatted to ds1&ds2 about ds "really 1" recently. They have always known about him, but they sometimes forget - I don't think they really understand.

Binkie yes, of course it would be Ok to email me direct. (and anyone else who can remember my name ... Cod ... ROFL!)

I admire your strength on day like today - as others have said it's so bittersweet.

My best friend had her DS adopted 15 years ago and it will always a cross she bears very quietly and with loads of dignity. You remind me of her.

One day I am sure you will meet

Cant even imagine what sort of day you are having but im sure your boy is thinking of you!
