Tea room 16 welcome to Shangri-la

Shangri-la = a hidden valley with beautiful views and crystal streams of course, and some inter-far eastern type of chalet things set around a Serene Courtyard with ever-blooming Japanese cherry trees, lots of refreshing fragrant teas, silk cushions, tinkling tiny waterfalls and bonsai trees, Gardens of Tranquillity etc.

Home to teh 16th Tea room, a haven for those with one or more or less children who like cake, tea, talking nonsense and oggling Mellors ( our handyman/ butler). If its your first vist, pull up a cushion .Mind out for the guinea pigs and other pets and do take care not to squash the teeny tiny naked mowhawk babies ( nmbs
, no longer naked and now toilet trained you will glad to hear)as they go about their duties helping Mellors.

Confused... come on, jump in and have a hot chocolate.

I will join you, Scout on the dance floor. Can't remember if I've posted this before, but here's a home movie of Mellors, me and a few friends strutting our stuff in another well-appointed pavilion.

Scout -

Milk used to sleep until about 10 or 11am, then she spent most of the rest of the morning/early afternoon eating, bathing or breastfeeding and then we would go out all afternoon. I remember sometimes she would fall asleep in her sling and other times she wouldn't.

We would then come home and she would spend most of the evening either eating, playing or breastfeeding and then we would fall asleep together at about midnight. She never really even as a tiny baby woke up in the middle of the night.
(Actually she did, I think for about a fortnight when she was about just 3 on account of terrible and for all of us very very scary dreams involving shouting out and sleep walking... but that is another story for another time).

I once at a routine check up disclosed this sleep routine to our doctor who almost had a heart attack telling me that it was not good for her... but IMHO Milk seemed to be growing and learning about life quite well so I changed nothing... well... apart from what I did and didn't tell the doctor !

Cheers, Tea!

I was just listening to this Francophone tearjerker. Enjoy!

oxeye · 16/07/2010 23:55

John Gsulbert, racing. Took a bit of finding

Jacksmama · 17/07/2010 02:04

Hi folks, again sorry for absence but can I still participate in the parcel exchange? I'll try to read back and find the rules if we have any, or if some kind soul would summarize... all I got was that the contents shouldn't cost more than £6.39?

Scout19075 · 17/07/2010 06:55

How am I meant to play FB games while BabyScout is still asleep when FB says my account is unavailable and may be for the next several hours?!?!?!

Scout19075 · 17/07/2010 07:24

Did someone mention Christmas? I LOVE Christmas!

MaryBS · 17/07/2010 19:18

Nooo, not Christmas YET!

How is everyone today?

Scout19075 · 17/07/2010 19:26

Stressed. How are you, Mary?

MaryBS · 17/07/2010 19:32

Feel a bit better now, but DS hit DD earlier with a stick, leaving a mark. When I told him off, he screamed. So he is in big trouble. We had tears and hysterics for having to sit on the naughty step.

Have just finished off my sermon for tomorrow, which is good, so I can relax!

Scout19075 · 17/07/2010 19:45

Ohhh, hitting with sticks isn't very nice! BabyScout sort of hits, but it's one of those "Look what I can make my arms do, Mommy!" things.

I started bedtime at six tonight and he's STILL awake! There is wailing, and crying, and gnashing of gums. ARGH!

Scout19075 · 17/07/2010 19:50

What's your sermon on, Mary?

MaryBS · 17/07/2010 20:05

Its about Martha and Mary and how Martha gets pissed off upset because she's doing all the work and Mary is just sitting there, listening to Jesus.

ASmallBunchOfFlowers · 17/07/2010 20:10

Hello, everyone. Just back from the local garden show. I am a Happy Gardener.

Would anyone care for a Bolly and some twiglet surprise?

MaryBS · 17/07/2010 20:15

Welcome back, happy gardener. Bolly and twiglets sound great!

ASmallBunchOfFlowers · 17/07/2010 20:29

Cheers, Mary!

teafortwo · 17/07/2010 20:43

Hi all...

I have been living in France too long... I can't quite remember...What does 'liability issue' actually mean...?

Scout19075 · 17/07/2010 21:04

Yes please to Bolly! I need a big one! Perhaps a whole bottle. (Nearly three hours!!!)

RacingSnake · 17/07/2010 21:23

Sorry ... even having not been to France, can't translate.

No, no, no, no, we are NOT talking about Christmas in July.

Always felt very sorry for Martha and totally identified with her.

M.Snake lost another book earlier and had a little temper tantrum; Wriggle told him off very vehemently!

Very unpleasant morning - we went to playground with a spinny round thing. Wriggle said, 'I turn you, Mummy' and all innocently I climbed on. She span it fater and faster; I shouted stop; he laughed, as one would, thinking it was a joke ... by the time it stopped, I was violently sick and still don't feel very well ... ...i am not a good travellor. M.Snake had to drive, because I was too dizzy to do so for everal hours. It has reminded me I must locate some really good homeopathic travel sickness pill for France.

ASmallBunchOfFlowers · 17/07/2010 21:31

Oh, Racing, that does not sound good at all. Here, have some ginger ale - I believe it's good for tender tummies.

Scout19075 · 17/07/2010 21:53

Thanks for the ear defenders, Small. I don't know what go into him tonight -- so not like BabyScout. A little whimpering is sometimes usual, but what he was doing tonight was not. I even gum-gelled him and Calpol-ed him, thinking maybe his teeth were bothering him. I think he's getting fed up with being a baby and his body not doing what he wants it to do.

AandO · 17/07/2010 21:53

Fiachra = Fia - kra

AandO · 17/07/2010 21:54

Oh Small bunch, it's a boy's name btw.

AandO · 17/07/2010 21:55

Noooo Scout noooo!!!

I normally love Christmas but not this year as the last one was so crappy.
