Hi Everyone.

My little only turns 4 in July. She loves going on rides. I am hoping to take her to a theme park!

Only problem is I have no idea which one is best for 4 year olds.

She's pretty tall.. prettier sure she's about 110cm. I know height restrictions will be in place.

Do I go for....

  • Alton towers/cbeebies land
  • Thorpe park (not sure if they have a you get kids section)
  • Chessington world of adventures
  • Drayton Manor
  • Paultons park

I would really appreciate ant input! Thanks so much!!

Paulton Park. My kids loved Peppa Pig World at that age and there were also a few rides in the other part that they could enjoy as well.

If you were open to travel either Lightwater Valley (all rides suitable for a 4 year old) or Flamingo Land: small
kids ride section, Peter rabbit land and zoo

ItsReallyOnlyMe · 03/06/2023 22:35

I think if you're near one of the Gullivers Theme parks they're perfect for this age group.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 03/06/2023 22:37

Paultons - expensive but so good, especially outside pp world. Check which rides she can go on first though.

I've been to Wicksteed park this weekend with a four and six year old. It was very good value and they both loved it. Food in the play centre was v good quality for the price. £5.50 nuggets/fish fingers/ pizza and chips. Nuggets were like m&s rather than McDonald's style.

Id definitely take them again.

Paultons..took my granddaughter there last year absolutely dreading it …it was absolutely fabulous and really well designed . Worth every penny!

Loopyloo159 · 03/06/2023 22:41

Lego land is absolutely brilliant as well !

EwwSprouts · 03/06/2023 22:47

Drayton Manor is great.
Sundown is specifically for under 10s.

mynameiscalypso · 03/06/2023 22:50

My DS is the same age (albeit he's quite tentative about rides) and we're going to Legoland in a few weeks and Paultons Park later in the year.

HappiDaze · 04/06/2023 00:30

Drusillas is the perfect day out for a 4 year old

Vintagecreamandcottagepie · 04/06/2023 00:34

Paultons is brilliant

stardust40 · 04/06/2023 00:49

Twinlakes is great for kids so is sundown Adventureland

LotsOfBalloons · 04/06/2023 00:56

Paultons and legoland. But ideally not on a schoolday. Use an inset day!

LotsOfBalloons · 04/06/2023 00:57

Alton is fantastic but not really for small ones. There is cbeebies land but you can do that in a morning.

TheGriffle · 04/06/2023 01:02

Sundown Adventureland or Legoland. Both fab for that age.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 04/06/2023 09:51

Gullivers or peppa pig one

Mysa74 · 04/06/2023 10:01

We've only been to Chessington and Legoland. Chessington was definitely better for the little ones, even up to 12 there's plenty to do for the whole day and there are tigers and penguins and monkeys etc as well as the aquarium. Legoland I'd leave until 8+, although the climbing park was good and the splash park excellent most of the rest of the day was spent in queues or saying you're not quite big enough...

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 04/06/2023 10:20

Not sure where you are but I think Twinlakes is brilliant for that age

drpet49 · 04/06/2023 10:22

Paultons Park is excellent.

Legoland is a shithole.

WestOfWestminster · 04/06/2023 10:27

Paultons park. Its got perfect rides for her age & is a really clean park and well maintained.

If you go take your childs swimwear and towel for the splash parks there. If staying over they do hotel deals, eg you can stay in a holiday inn 20 mins down the road that has its own pool etc.

LorraineInSpain · 04/06/2023 10:31

Chessington was good, as was Drusillas.

Don’t go to Thorpe Park - pretty much nothing there for younger and shorter people.

LotsOfBalloons · 04/06/2023 10:37

Also depends where you live as to how far a journey it will be. Alton towers and peppa pig world are miles apart!

Agree with other paultons is better maintained than legoland! And definitely wouldn't do legoland at weekend/holidays

tonyhawks23 · 04/06/2023 10:41

Definitely cebebbies land and Alton towers it's amazing fun you could spend days there with a 4 year old and never have enough time for it all it's so fab and they know all the characters it's brilliant, plenty to do in the rest of the park for them too

Geneticsbunny · 04/06/2023 10:50

Another vote for sundown adventure land. It is magical.

I agree with this, I don't understand the PP who said you could do Cbeebiesland in a morning! We went on a weekday in term time with a 4 yr old, so there were almost no queues for anything, I think we were there roughly 10-4 ? And there's plenty of things we didn't get to do/see. We did go out of Cbeebiesland, she liked the aquarium and the runaway mine train.
