Tearoom 35: Sun, sea and sand...

This breathtakingly beautiful island has unspoilt powdery white sand beaches, crystalline turquoise waters that wash over pristine coral reefs, and verdant green rainforest.

Scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking and sailing trips are available and you can discover the island's charms on foot (with or without Mellors the guide) by mountain bike or private island buggy.

For those in need of pampering the spa offers a selection of luxurious treatments to soothe and heal both body and soul.

For dining, enjoy a freshly prepared meal at the tearoom, a picnic on the beach, or a delicious dinner in the oceanfront restaurant with its stunning sea views. There is Wine, Brew and good company, everybody is welcome.

Choc box very welcome. I'm still coughing. MC missed holiday club yesterday but drove DH mad by bouncing off the ceiling, so he's there today. MiL back with us and slightly more positive following a word with a consultant - they still don't know what it is but doesn't sound as though its short months. So planned move back on and asap.

MC loves his bike - might have to find a local children's bike club and see how thing progress.

UniS · 09/04/2013 23:11

bike club this week is challenging... I hate paper work, and I have to turn in a perfect set of paper work for this week as its being assessed. grrrrrr.

Kids are fun tho, have a "new rider, just of stabilsers who is making great progress, really nice to see. AND its a child who will tell me if they don't understand what I've asked them to do. Hurrah.

mistlethrush · 10/04/2013 09:21

What are you doing in your bike club UniS, and where is it based? MC would love to do something like that - and his school grounds would be a perfect location I would have thought...

UniS · 10/04/2013 19:18

Bike club this week is my practise coaching for a level 2 coaching certificate with Britsih cycling. I have to do 6 progressive sessions with the same group of riders. So, after talking to a couple of parents of likely children and looking at my available time and theirs. We are doing an Easter Holiday crash course for beginner/ intermediate cyclists age 5-7. Just a group of 6, as only have 1 tennis court of hard flat surface to use. The school playground is much steeper! and has obstacles.

Mistle - in your area (ish) take a look at this lot www.aireboroughxs.co.uk/Activities/Easter+Activity+Week and these www.leedsmercury.co.uk/7.html

found using www.britishcycling.org.uk/clubfinder

UniS · 10/04/2013 19:21

and these guys too http://www.otleycycleclub.co.uk/coaching.html look similar to Boys "normal" bike club rather than my holiday club.

mistlethrush · 11/04/2013 09:05

Oooh one of those looks particularly relevant - meets just up the road sometimes...

[Needs to get bike serviced and fit for purpose by the look of it]

Scout19075 · 12/04/2013 19:55

SmallBoy has done it!

He's done it!

UniS · 13/04/2013 20:09

well done small boy... does this mean he had a whole train full of choclate carriages and a chocolate loco.

Scout19075 · 14/04/2013 23:02

Biopsy tomorrow -- eek!

mistlethrush · 15/04/2013 08:18

(((Scout))) and a Brew waiting for you when you get back.

Scout19075 · 15/04/2013 14:25

It would be naughty to lay in bed eating chocolate post procedure, wouldn't it?

Scout19075 · 15/04/2013 17:23

It is very difficult to eat sweet corn when you're not allowed to sit up.

mistlethrush · 15/04/2013 22:20

I'm sure chocolate would be easier.

And I've brought you a straw for your Wine

Scout19075 · 16/04/2013 13:51

Chocolate was definitely easier to eat laying down. I ate that while confined to my side. Hospital decided to feed me dinner since I was still there (very kind, as well, since they interrupted lunch to do the procedure and I felt to queasy to finish it after/before they came to collect the plates).

Scout19075 · 17/04/2013 16:37

Today SB has consistently telling me when he needs the toilet. Even when we were at soft play he came over to tell me. WAHOO!!!!!!!!!

Scout19075 · 17/04/2013 16:43

Oh.... I should mention that he's been in "big boy pants" since Friday and mostly dry but it's been me saying "let's go to the toilet."

UniS · 17/04/2013 18:47

Hurrah for small "big boy" pants.

mistlethrush · 18/04/2013 09:08

That's really impressive at soft play too Scout - its so easy for them to get so engrossed in playing that they don't realise they need to go - until its too late (been there, MC's done that!). Even now he will sit and squirm if he's doing something he doesn't want to stop - and then does a manic dash.

Scout19075 · 18/04/2013 17:23

I was fully prepared for accidents due to not wanting to stop playing when I asked about the toilet/not wanting to stop playing so didn't pay attention to the signs I had three pairs of trousers, two pairs of pants and an emergency pull-up with me. To be fair, he mostly told me about the toilet when he was already over with me/the rest of the table (as in, "I need a drink....oh, I need the toilet!"). And this morning, while I was still half-asleep, he put his stool in front of the toilet, put his seat on the loo, had his pj bottoms down and was trying to work out how to undo his (night time) nappy when I asked if he was okay he said "I NEED THE TOILET!" I'm going to have to get night time pull-ups so he can do them himself (was just trying to finish up the open package of nappies I had) because I don't see him being night dry for a while yet. It's like swim nappies I had two or three and wasn't confident he'd tell his teacher he needed to go (it's one thing to tell me, another to tell an adult you only see once a week), so put him in one for his class today. He was okay with it and was happy to go back into pants after.

The US is having a rough week this week. I'm not impressed with the fact the background check for arms bill has been defeated. In fact, I'm p**sed off. I've been thinking about home/the US a lot lately dreaming of a bigger home with loads more land for a heck of a lot less money than here but things like that make me glad I'm not there at the moment.

Hope you're making a good recovery from the procedure, Scout.

Please come and join my Sunday evening dancing thread.

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 21/04/2013 20:55

Have now TWICE lost long post I have written. No longer going to share (wasn't interesting) but am enjoying wine and bosom clasping. Grin

UniS · 21/04/2013 21:01

Have you looked behind the sofa Labelle- often a good place to look for lost things.

More Wine??

I've just spent a hour beating my head against mapping software and a Risk assessment. grrrrrr. I ought to be getting on with pinning a skirt together and starting making it. but I'm not yet. may go and find some chocolate.

mistlethrush · 21/04/2013 21:34

I find behind the door is also often a good place to look. Or in mc's room....

We have done lots of running the dog and mc this weekend - thought plenty of fresh air and exercise would be good for all of us under the current circs. MC's managed to develop freckles over the weekend.

The chinchilla cage is back in the sitting room - she's been in the dining room since we got the dog. Mostly its been OK, couple of barks but she's managed to ignore 'chin cam' and the TV tonight and is fast asleep.....
