To pinch an intro from the very first one and only tea room thread. in 2009.

The tea room is now officially open, serving hot chocolate, tea, freshly-squeezed orange juice and a range of home-baked muffins. Tablecloths and crockery are charmingly mismatched antiques (no Cath Kidston here). We overlook an attractive although somewhat overgrown garden, with a distant view of rolling countryside.

Everyone is welcome but house rules dictate that anyone indulging in fisticuffs will be ejected.

Please come in.

We seem to have fetched up in Ireland, this place looks remarkably like a pub,There is even a guiness barrel over there. The NMBs are all sporting shamrocks. The mirror ball is here, but I leave teh rest of the unpacking to someone else.

I found you all!!!!

:: unloads bags of very un-Irish goodies from Jersey - local wine, black butter biscuits, Jersey crab and apple cider::

Am just catching up. Have had a lovely couple of days with my sister and nephews. DN2 is just 8 weeks and gorgeous.

Irish pub, great choice, I have very fond memeories of a week in Ireland just after we got married. Hope everyone is ok?

Wine anyone?

Tee2072 · 16/06/2011 20:14

Are you suppose to use it to look at one eye, Scout?

Full English: eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, toast, maybe mushrooms.

Full Irish: eggs, bacon, sausage, friend potato bread, fried soda bread, white and black pudding, maybe tomatoes and mushrooms.

I have eaten a lot of both! Grin

I also have Wine if anyone is interested?

amberlight · 16/06/2011 20:20

Yes please for Wine. And maybe a Guinness chaser?

I've been fairly good all day. I think a real life drinkie might be called for.

Jacksmania · 16/06/2011 20:25

Mmmm, that trail of breadcrumbs was delicious!!

Oh... I wasn't supposed to eat them? Blush But I'm sooo hungry... and I missed breakfast. Boo.

Hello, AandO, so nice to see you back! How are you? Big change from India, I'm sure.

Amber, thank you for hiding the A-word Grin

Donki · 16/06/2011 20:33

I'm afraid that Lord and Lady Grey were a bit seasick on the way over....

I will have to ask you to excuse me - I had a very disturbed night. Got about 2 hours sleep (Cystitis).
And then it was my lesson observation today. Aaargh!

Still, I may be a knackered donki with cystitis, but I am an OUTSTANDING knackered donki with cystitis.

A good job the Deputy Head didn't turn up two lessons earlier - that one was definitely not oustanding. Not dreadful, but I was not happy with it.

Donki · 16/06/2011 20:34

Oh no! But I LIKE that A word.

Donki · 16/06/2011 20:34

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Tee2072 · 16/06/2011 20:41

What on earth is Friend Potato Bread? Fried, it should be. ::nods::

I keep reading finelad as Finland....

WTG Donki with that Outstanding! Go get some sleep!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/06/2011 20:44

A bouquet for the Outstanding Donki

::sound of chomping::

Well, at least they were edible plants.

Donki · 16/06/2011 20:50

Oops!

I know I am sleepy, but I really didn't mean to eat the flowers.....

They were very tasty nice Maud . Thankyou.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 16/06/2011 21:29

Yeh for Outstanding Donkis!!

AandO · 16/06/2011 21:59

Thank you for the rewelcome (is that a word?!) guys. Smile

Bean are you a name changer? I also read Finelad as Finland! I have to say that I've never come across fried potato bread.

Tee2072 · 16/06/2011 22:01

I forgot to say hi to AandO! Hi! Yes, I am new although I was here when you poked your head in awhile ago.

I think this is my...3rd? Tea Room? Maybe? Can't remember.

I really should get to bed. More Wine?

oxeye · 16/06/2011 22:09

Go Donki! Go Donki! Ya ya ya!!

Scout19075 · 16/06/2011 22:14

Three cheers for Donki!

Scout19075 · 16/06/2011 22:18

TS's package of goodies hasn't arrived yet -- with my luck it'll come tomorrow, just after we've left for the outlaws'. Sad I had hoped to take his new stroller and baby with us.

I should go to bed but can't be bothered to get up and go upstairs.

beanandspud · 16/06/2011 22:19

Well done Donki - oustanding!!

AandO - I am fairly new, I have Small Bean who is 3 (going on 33) and discovered the lovely ladies of the Tea Room a couple of months ago.

Scout - I have no idea what you do with a duck/mirror that size Confused

Tee - I missed the Apprentice thread last night, were you happy with the result? Oh, and has LCT recovered now?

Catitainahatita · 16/06/2011 22:20

Hmm. Fried potato bread would seem to me to be a version of the Scottish tattie scones (not I know though having never actually been to Ireland).
Black and white pudding however are also a feature of the Scottish version and usually also in the NorthWestern English version too. Also in the NE version you get fried bread too. And beans.... [melts away in a pool of dribble]

My NWE cum Scottish breakfast offering then is: fried egg, bacon, sausage, fried bread, black pudding, tattie scone, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, beans served with toast with butter and a urn of superstrength tea. (And if I weren't a diabetic the tea would have sugar in it). The uneaten toast (and there always is some) would then serve as a morning snack aka "baggin" (NWE) or "piece" (Scot).

Hello all. Welcome back AandO!

More toast anyone?

Catitainahatita · 16/06/2011 22:22

Xposts with everyone....

So: congratulations Donki!

Tee2072 · 16/06/2011 22:23

LCT was Sir Cranky Whiny Teary Clingy today. MrTee and I were glad to see bed time. MrTee is on a long weekend so he is off today and tomorrow.

Bean, it was a TV result, not a business one. Norn Iron Jim should have been fired but he's good TV.

Tee2072 · 16/06/2011 22:24

Oh yeah, I forgot the beans in a full Irish! Grin

DontCallMeBaby · 16/06/2011 22:48

Cor, fried bread with no calories! Baked beans I'm not allergic to!

Erm, did I miss anything? Like about 17 different tea rooms?

Hello! I'm still here. Spending too much time in Camping these days.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/06/2011 22:49

::claps DCMB to her ample bosom::

Good to see you again!

Catitainahatita · 16/06/2011 22:54

Hiya DCMB! Good to see you again. Have some more beans ....

oxeye · 16/06/2011 23:38

Ah DCMB - twas you who gave us the NMBs, they have never left you know! We could always set up a tent for you in the pub so you'd feel at home!

I can see this is going to be a breakfast club not a tea room
