Tea Room The 24th - San Francisco Painted Lady!

Welcome to the 24th incarnation of the One-Child Tea Room. Not that you only have to have one! Just so long as you enjoy chat, tea, coffee, cake!!

The usual rules apply - no bunfighting. If you like that sort of thing, go elsewhere.
Other rules: bring Wine. Or Brew.

Our ongoing voyage take us to one of San Francisco's Painted Ladies!

We've brought the Aga over, it's in the back in the cosy kitchen overlooking the back garden. The chintz sofa is in the front room, under the bow window! All of the pillows and duvets have come along as well!

What's that? The Priest Hole? It's just over there --> behind the bookcase!

Mellors is upstairs, preparing the bedrooms for naps and such. Wink

The aspidistras are thriving as they overlook Nob Hill! The horses have found themselves stabled in the Garden, which is much larger than these places usually are in this city!

So come in and have a seat!

::tea hurries off to Powell Street to catch the Cable Car to Ghirardelli Square::

Good morning all Smile

Blimey, yes, plenty of boys in the tea room, though strictly speaking these days mine counts as an adult (how did this happen? He was tiny only a short time ago....)

Are people being rude about boys and ballet elsewhere? Hmm With mine spending half his life on the stage, dancing and singing, I can't think what anyone would have against any form of dance and men.

Full Irish breakfast? Yum!

MaryBS · 07/04/2011 09:04

Rio Ferdinand did ballet. See here

amberlight · 07/04/2011 11:10

::bounces round tea room in state of complete joy::

Fabulous day in Scoutshire. Have spent the most of the morning outside with Toddler -- doing errands, walking down the railway path and playing at the playground. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" TS says when on the swings as he throws himself forward and back, grinning like a cheshire cat.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/04/2011 13:41

Also sneaking in from work to say WAHOO AMBER!!

Let's have a celebratory cuppa Brew and a cake Biscuit and some Bolly Wine tonight.

AgentSecrete · 07/04/2011 13:41

I do love all your descriptions of TS, Scout! V cute!

AgentSecrete · 07/04/2011 13:42

I'll Wine to that, Maud!

amberlight · 07/04/2011 13:43

I've already had a glass of white with dh down the pub Grin so definitely need a Brew and Biscuit right now Grin

Scout19075 · 07/04/2011 13:51

amber, I like your thinking. I was wondering if I could have a celebatory Wine now and find out you've started so I don't feel guilty having one. Grin

Thanks Agent. He's generally a happy-chappy, so it's easy to share those attributes. He really did laugh hysterically on the swing and kept trying to make himself go. What was really nice is we had the playground to ourselves so I could take pictures without other parents giving me the evils.

amberlight · 07/04/2011 14:11

Good people of the tea room, I notice we've only about 35 posts to go before we're out of room. Are there thoughts about where we go next and who should set up the next one? Smile

thumbwitch · 07/04/2011 14:18

Have we been to Venice yet? that could be nice - or Lake Garda perhaps? Although I know more about Venice...

BsshBossh · 07/04/2011 14:21

Hello, can I join you all on this gloriously sunny day. I have a beautiful (of course) DD 2.9. I work all week (mainly from home) and DD is at the childminders. I have a fab DH who dotes on DD but who unfortunately works very long hours. However, any free time his has tends to be devoted to us Grin. I am 41 (soon) and we're not going to have any more children - not because of age but because of choice. I am an only and, unlike so many others, I loved it! So hello!!!

BsshBossh · 07/04/2011 14:21

Obviously I do not understand italics! Sorry.

thumbwitch · 07/04/2011 14:50

welcome BsshBossh. Fear not re. the italics, they have rather developed a mind of their own recently.
I post at odd hours because I am in Australia - I have one DS, miniThumb, who is 3.4 and wonderful.

Tee2072 · 07/04/2011 15:45

::Tee dusts off hands::

That's me done with work for more or less the week. Might poke around in client's new website a bit, but that's just for fun!

Italy sounds like a lovely next stop for the Tea Room.

Welcome BsshBossh. I'm Tee, I'm 42 and my son is very nearly 22 months (5 days, eek!). I also work for myself and he goes to nursery 2 days a week. Draw up a chair and have some Wine or a Brew. Grin

Good on TS Scout! LCT doesn't like the equipment at play parks yet. He just likes to run around them with a ball to kick!

Ooooo Venice is my fave place in the whole world! Yes please!!

Hi BssBossh - welcome! Have more Brew. I am the proud mum of an 18 yr old but I make up for it by having the mental age of a toddler Grin

UniS · 07/04/2011 19:03

whooo hoo amber, that is good news re your shrinking lump.

Hi Bissbosh

Thus far- it look s like THE t room " I am 4 " t shirt could be heading down under to Thumb. Any other candidate with a 4th birthday between now and December?

My boy is now in teh bath having thoroughly enjoyed his pizza dinner and smeared quite a lot of tomato around himself. Class assembly was quite sweet, they "performed" to a song on CD, lots of actions and small groups in different costumes doing a bit per verse. Boy was the back third of a train.

OmShantiJack · 07/04/2011 19:27

Welcome Bsssh!

Just popped in to day hi everyone :)

Scout19075 · 07/04/2011 19:28

Anyone know what I can add to the Magic Sleeping Dust to get TS to stop kicking his headboard? You would think a 2+ hour adventure outside and a short nap (for him) would mean tired/sleep.

Hello Bssh! I'm Scout. ToddlerScout (TS) is 17 months old. He's generally a happy chappy and a lovely little thing. He, of course, has his toddler moments. I am a SAHM and an American married to a Brit and living in England. I spell things my own way and ask very random questions.

Scout19075 · 07/04/2011 19:38

Tee, TS wasn't sure about the climbing bits at first and still isn't sure about slides. But he loves the swing. He likes the swing at his Nana's, too, so now that it's nice we go out every time we're down.

amber, how is your arm?

Have realized -- 12 weeks left of mine. WAHOO!!!!

OMJ, just to let you know, still no Canadian parcel. I've decided the Canadian mail and the Royal Mail aren't compatible -- I usually get things from home in under a week.

BsshBossh · 07/04/2011 19:43

Thanks for the welcome! DD asleep now so I'll have a Wine thanks Grin.

So, has my DD upped the "only daughters" on this thread to 3 now? My, what a lot of boys!
