Shall I pull my daughter out of nursery

My daughter is 13 months and has been at nursery since 10 months old. Since she has started she’s had covid, foot & mouth, bronchitis and now croup. She has not had a break I feel so awful for her. She’s had so much time off. I am at the stage where is it even worth sending her to nursery, I know they pick up everything but I have sent her at the wrong time with everything going on?

I work 3 days a week 1 day in the office, mys sister is able to have her on the 1 day I am in the office. Do I wait until she is two? we go to baby ballet and have baby friends just sick of her being ill :(

I’m stressed and I don’t know what to do?

@girlmom21.I used to live opposite a nursery and watching the many dramas (crying, tired children, stressed out parent) made me come to my decision.I dont judge parents who do it,I just want to say, there are other options, but those options need quite often complete different priorities. My partner and I decided to totally share the childcare and not have loads of "stuff" .It needed a total rethink of what is important to us.

You are not the only person who lives with a nursery and has done so for over a decade. (I actually live 2 minutes from 2.)

You are completely judgemental and talk shit.

@Andwander you really are judgmental of parents who use paid childcare. Read your posts back.

It's great that you've found something that works for you but those big sacrifices you needed to make for it to work don't work for every family.

I'd rather pay for full time childcare and be able to afford experiences etc.

Haha @Andwander you are clearly on the wind up!
You must be ready to implode when I say I don't work and my DH has very sporadic set "work" time as the boss of his own company and my 22 month old daughter goes to nursery 2 mornings a week!
She goes to socialise with her peers and spend time away from us, as I don't think it's healthy for her to spend all day everyday with her parents!

My DD has been in nursery since she was 18 months and has been off more than she's been in thanks to bugs, cold, as a covid contact and this week for a chest infection.
I keep her in nursery because she enjoys going and it's really helped her come on in her speech and behaviour. Plus it gives me the chance to do my jobs without her here.

But I think you have to go with what works for you and your child, but of course there's always the chance she will pick up all these illnesses whenever she does go back to nursery

I think that if you take her out of nursery, you will just postpone her getting all of these things. Unfortunately it’s very normal for children to pick up all kinds of things and be unwell when they are in nursery or school.

@Andwander "I don't judge parents who do it" please just read your previous comment 🙄 what a nasty, judgemental thing to say.

Back on topic though, my nearly 13mo has had it rough as well, OP. She's been off for two weeks with conjunctivitis and a cough. It feels relentless at times and definitely stressful. Sorry you're going through it x
