My husband and I are in the process of setting up a nursery and would appreciate views on names.
What do you think of the name 'Little Knights' for a nursery and pre school? (Our surname is Knight)

Please god, not Little Knights and Maidens.

hibbleddible · 01/11/2015 00:08

I just think of mike the knight and get the jingle in my head

It's not a great name I think.

I like area name or a tree.

SilverBirchWithout · 01/11/2015 00:22

Who said SilverBirch? Smile

Think about your potential client base. If your usp is eductation/learning go for something straightforward and non-cutsie, like a place name.

If you want to focus on play, fun and younger babies go for the cutsie name.

Don't like Knights anywhere in title, sexist and a bit vain tbh.

There was one in a neighbouring county at home called 'Little Harvard'. Vom indeed.

I like the road/area names; they're subtle, and aspirational. I can totally hear a school gate mum gently murmuring that Little Cedric has just started at Carroway Lane...

After a bird? You could have a logo of a soaring bird following its own path.

Starling nursery
Nightingale nursery

Owls can be seen as wise.
Snowy owl day nursery

Or kingfisher

How about 'socially engineered tikes'?

leccybill · 01/11/2015 00:40

There's a Little Einsteins near me, in the absolute roughest part of town.

I like Round Table Nursery too.

SpendSpendSpend · 01/11/2015 01:10

Little Brats
Little Shits

On a serious note though...

Play and Learn
Rise and Shine

I was going to say Round Table something too! :)

I was going to call mine Hudson Street Child Care (because that's where I live) but now I'm not going to do it here. Pity, it was a nice name.

HSMMaCM · 01/11/2015 15:29

Round table nursery is nice. Also something about the area - hill view, or cedar nursery, main road or whatever.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 02/11/2015 05:46

I have a friend whose name starts with L too (assuming you are actually a Lorna) - her daycare (from home) is called Lxxxxxxxxx's Little Learners. Nice and alliterative.

ConesOfDunshire · 04/11/2015 06:40

Knight Day Nursery?

Nice subtle pun, too.

bruffin · 04/11/2015 09:14

What about an animal. "Sparrows Nursery" or similar. Quite neutral

Mine went to Little Sparrows and then onto one called CoCos. Locally we now also have Daffodils,Tiny Toons, Bright Sparks and Asquith, the last two being large companies i think

AmysTiara · 04/11/2015 09:19

There's a First Class Nursery by us. I like that name.
