What would you do? I wish I'd just come out and said "so why have you brought him to nursery then?", but she's so cock sure of herself she'd just laugh me off.

So, shall I email the nursery and ask them whether they are aware?

Unfortunately this Mother does fall into the irresponsible category. I KNOW she's brought him in to nursery in the past before the 48hr exclusion has passed when he's had D&V and that time I DID tell the nursery.

She is frustrated as she has a little boy who seems to pick up every bug so she's had a lot of time off.

Maybe this time it was not D&V just a nasty cold which made him puke - poor thing - I don't know. I've seen her bring him in when he simply looks very unwell and she has even said he probably shouldn't be there, but she's going to see how he gets on.

I know my son will catch whatever's going around and I accept that, but it's very frustrating to know that it might simply be due to an infectious child being in the nursery who shouldn't be there.

Most of the time nursery staff know kids have been sick, because the kids tellGrin.
I have had older siblings tell me "little sis was sick everywhere this morning and mum cleaned it off and said she'll be fine"
We report this to baby room staff and they keep a watch on the child, especially on nappies. If kids are Ill, they will be sent home, and good nursery hygiene practices are far stricter than households.
There's no point telling the nursery, if the kid is talking, he will have told them himself!
