How can you find a song if you only know the tune and can't remember any lyrics at all?

I have tried and tried but all I can remember is the tune!

Absolutely no idea at all who it is by, or when it is from. Its a man singing, and I'd hazard a guess its 80s/90s.

How unhelpful is that

ummm, my mother actually recorded that R4 adaptation for me, and sent me the tape.... but I have never listened to it
