Who at the moment do you just NOT get despite people raving about them?

For me it has to be Seasick Steve. Loads of people going on about how wonderful he is.

I can hear the guitar playing is good, but otherwise he just sounds like any other "dang doggone, mah babee done left me an' mah dawg died" tedious country-blues artist.

southeastastra · 21/11/2008 19:59

you can have terry, haven't you heard his little drummer

GrapefruitMoon · 21/11/2008 19:59

Most current bands - they all sound so derivative of bands from the 70s and 80s who did it so much better [oldie emoticon]

pointydog · 21/11/2008 20:01

I don't think there's anything wrong with derivative.

GrapefruitMoon · 21/11/2008 20:02

Ah well I've always liked originality

asdmumandteacher · 21/11/2008 20:04

oh yes i agree with Coldplay...dullllllll

Leona Lewis absolutely.....snoooooore

beanieb · 21/11/2008 20:06

The problem with the latest Duffy song is that someone (her?) seems to have taken several lines from several northern soul songs, or made up lines which are typical of that genre, and stuffed them all into one very unattractive song.

moondog · 21/11/2008 20:07

lol atggirl

Isn't #Popmaster' the most cringewrothy thing in the world though? When I am driving and it is on i have to turn it down as it embarasses me so.

Tortington · 21/11/2008 20:08

kings of leon.

i want to like them, i want to be hip and trendy and say " yeah, the new KOL album is great"

but i can't

coldplay is obvious i have gone on and on about how i hate them

piratecat · 21/11/2008 20:08

Coldplay most def

notnowbernard · 21/11/2008 20:11

Coldplay goes without saying, surely

I've always loathed Robbie Williams but he's a bit of a fave, isn't he

georgimama · 21/11/2008 20:13

on the basis that no one likes Coldplay, do they actually qualify to be included on this list? Who is raving about them? It seems to be "accepted" that they are rubbish (even though they actually sell squillions of records).

moondog · 21/11/2008 20:19

He needs a kicking that Chris Martin.
Music for accounting students in bad unis.

piratecat · 21/11/2008 20:20

piratecat · 21/11/2008 20:20

daftpunk · 21/11/2008 20:24

kings of leon are brilliant....

beanieb · 21/11/2008 20:26

oh but watch this and tell me he wasn't a cutie once!? Not into them myself but aw bless!

Spidermama · 21/11/2008 20:28

Indie 'musicians'. Horrible student music.
Jeremy Clarkson. Deeply unlikeable.
Only Fools and Horses. Not even slightly funny.

piratecat · 21/11/2008 20:30

as i think i have said before, i would like to go to the Kings of Leons's house for xmas please!!!

notnowbernard · 21/11/2008 20:30

Are we moving on from music?

If so my list of hates is endless...

georgimama · 21/11/2008 20:31

I do like "Yellow" and "Fix You". I don't actually think they are rubbish, it's just one of those mysteries of life how/why they are so successful when everyone apparently hates them (tis the musical equivalent of the 1992 general election exit poll - everyone went into the polling booth, voted conservative, came out and told the nice man from Gallup that they had just voted labour).

piratecat · 21/11/2008 20:31

no i like the music hates tis great

daftpunk · 21/11/2008 20:31

i thought this was about new music anyway..

coldplay are ancient.and kings of leon have been around about 8 years..
