Morning MN Swifties!

As if today wasn't exciting enough, I woke up this morning to news of the lyric changes on Rep - what is she up to??

Anyway, I'm trying to avoid all the coverage online about the tour doc and the new show film, until this evening when I settle down with my one Swiftie mate to drink wine and watch Disney+!

Cannot wait to see TTPD on something other than a grainy livestream 😁

I remember dp popping to the bar at one point during our Wembley concert and coming back because there was a big security alert going on. It was quite unnerving after all the Vienna news. I was watching Taylor singing and thinking it must be ok because they hadn’t stopped the show.

PlazaAthenee · 19/12/2025 20:43

I didn't realise she really had taken her cats with her. Along with her family they must keep her very grounded.

EmeraldRoulette · 19/12/2025 21:00

@PlazaAthenee I didn't think all of the countries allowed it

I'm literally just sitting here debating whether I've got enough energy to sort out joining Disney or whether I leave it till tomorrow. I'll be up for ages. I'm just really tired.

EmeraldRoulette · 20/12/2025 21:06

So I've just watched the first one.

Was feeling tearful within about five minutes! I genuinely don't know how she processes all of that emotion.

I hope that there's more looking at how the tour was put together in terms of creative direction.

Without giving much away, the second ep has more focus on the dancers and choreographers, and there’s a few discussions there around the creative side.

EmeraldRoulette · 20/12/2025 23:29

@ShesTheAlbatross thank you
I will save that for tomorrow

I found it interesting that Whyley said he has been doing this for 20 years and he's never had anyone being tearful at the start of the project before - I mean, obviously I believe that, but if anyone else started off a project like that, you might be a bit "what the hell?" 😂

and actually being honest, I do wonder if any of the new members of the team did think that!

sorry, I'm probably going to be boring about this documentary all week but I'll be chatting to myself because you'll all be busy with Christmas 😂

EmeraldRoulette · 21/12/2025 19:58

I've seen the second one now

The rehearsal with Florence was an absolute joy to watch - such a beautiful voice. 🥰

it becomes hard to work out what's urban myth and what's real? I'm sure there were rumours on the Saturday night (17th August) that Florence was in there after the Saturday show rehearsing with them until 2 am. Or there were rumours that some kind of rehearsal was going on so we knew something was going to be added in.

NeverTalksToStrangers2 · 21/12/2025 20:15

Episodes 3 and 4 have been my personal favourites so far.

Loved watching the TTPD set and all the transitions.

EmeraldRoulette · 21/12/2025 20:37

@NeverTalksToStrangers2 oh that's something to look forward to

I really wish there was some kind of documentary showing how it sort of crossed over into being a phenomenon. Although of course nobody can see what the exact point was. As an OG fan, it was such a joy to watch it evolve and just become so extraordinary for so many people.

I had the date marked on my calendar for the start of the tour. I was having a tough time and because the first date was in the US, I woke up in the morning and immediately went online to see what everyone had to say about it.

and now.... here we are. 🥰💫🫶🏾

MyIvyGrows · 21/12/2025 20:42

I’m really enjoying it but expected to - I watch Miss Americana quite frequently, and bits of the first Eras film whenever I need cheering up!

EmeraldRoulette · 21/12/2025 20:51

I watch the live "Florida!!!" on YouTube when I need cheering up or just livening up.

It's quite strange listening to the song without the crowd shrieking and that girl who keeps saying "WHAT?" at the start 😂

oh, I forgot to say, Benjamin Button at the end of the first one, looking in the bathtub ... so cute! It seems weird that he's so big now! Remember when he was a tiny little thing walking across the piano?

beguilingeyes · 21/12/2025 21:21

I've watched all four so far. The woman is a super hero.
The only thing that bothers me is how the hell is she going to follow that...

I genuinely thought she was going to announce her retirement after the Eras tour. I mentioned that to a couple of people and they thought I was bonkers. I actually didn't even try and get tickets, I don't do big crowds, but one thing that gave me pause was I thought it was my last opportunity.

But again, as an OG fan, I could totally imagine her deciding to create musicals instead, or go into music production.

So when TLOAS was announced, I was absolutely delighted.

but every time I listen to "The Lucky One", I wonder. A lot of of it would be about how she feels about being such a phenomenon. Looks like she's leaning into it.

PlazaAthenee · 22/12/2025 08:21

I'm slightly obsessed with the exit signs, noticed some in episode 3 yesterday.

How on earth she didn't thwack her head under the stage every evening is beyond me. I was checking the time when she dipped under the stage at Wembley for each costume change and couldn't believe how fast they really were. I was like "HOW is she back up already 🤯!".

EmeraldRoulette · 22/12/2025 09:18

@PlazaAthenee I think there were some incidents

Also that time she cut her hand, I think that was from rushing about in the dark for a costume change

I'm guessing that was when she was wearing the brown Evermore dress. That thing looked like a massive trip hazard.

TheMateofOphelia · 23/12/2025 23:26

Finished the last two this evening.

I'm driving myself a bit mad because it really feels like a lot of the subtext/Easter egg stuff is pointing towards "retirement". End of an era, The Life of a showgirl (song), exit signs, all that's left is to close the book, the manuscript mash up, happiness as the final song in the doc (literally insane) but then final piece of text....Shock

TS13 very soon?!?!

EmeraldRoulette · 23/12/2025 23:47

@TheMateofOphelia oh I haven't seen it. I should probably try to avoid spoilers

That's likely impossible to do 😂

I'm still on episode three, I only watched about 20 minutes and got interrupted.

That's interesting. I mean, obviously I said that I thought she was going to retire after the Eras tour, and that TLOAS really surprised me... but maybe the retirement I was imagining is just coming later than I thought!

I will stick my neck out and say that I can't really imagine she will go on tour again.

Maybe a handful of small exclusive shows in the US? After everything she has been through, I was also surprised that she came back here to launch the album. I mean, I know she loves the UK but I was still surprised.

I don't know. Nobody does, I guess. One thing that did occur to me was a short residency in Vegas, but that doesn't seem right either.

Music production seems more likely, or something like a musical, which she could syndicate and then just pop to any country showing it when she fancies it.

I think she will create something every day of her life. But I think with the first half of her life being the way it was, it would be like a whole new adventure to stay in America and perhaps spend lots of time in the studio. I think it's really important to her to support the next generation of music makers as well.

also, she will want to stay close to her parents I imagine, and I'm not sure how much travelling they want to do.

I’m thinking maybe kids are hopefully beckoning with Travis (as per the lyrics of Wish List) and really she knows nothing is topping the Eras Tour. He looks like he’s about to retire too so what better time. She’s finally found the love she’s been waiting for (in her words).

Can see her still making music though!

EmeraldRoulette · 24/12/2025 00:27

@AccidentallyWesAnderson oh come on
Everyone knows "Wish List" is really about Jan and the ladder! 🥰😂

She said to Stephen Colbert she doesn't want to go away though.

She said to Stephen Colbert she doesn't want to go away though.

She also said on Scott Mills when she was promoting TLOAS that she wasn’t retiring.

ETA - also given her love of the number 13, she wouldn’t stop at 12 albums!

EmeraldRoulette · 25/12/2025 23:01

I've seen all of them except the last one now

Blimey, that was very emotional.

I can't imagine what I'll be like after watching the last one!

Interesting to see about the "crying in Toronto" thing. I just thought she was overwhelmed because she had that realisation of the tour ending. Which would be a hell of a realisation.

How great that Marjorie's voice has been playing out across stadiums 🥰

EmeraldRoulette · 26/12/2025 21:20

Okay, I've seen the last one

In bits really

Something I really wonder about is how people manage those big emotions. Like there's so much involved in a show. And I would've thought the emotional management would be a really big part of it. (I'm very curious about this so if anyone knows any good books to read that would be great).

I can't help thinking that for some of the younger people involved, it's almost like the most key experience of their career has happened right at the beginning. I'm not quite sure if anything is going to live up to it for them later on.

Phenomenon isn't enough of a word to encompass what that was. I don't think there is a word! I didn't even go and I just feel lucky to have seen what I saw!

but now it's Boxing Day, so there's no one around to talk to about it...

Scaramoosh221 · 22/01/2026 15:15

Like some of you on here, I was also at Wembley N7 and had the absolute privilege to see Jack Antanoff and Florence….& suspect JA - who isn’t in the Disney docuseries - may have been ’CANCELLED’??

Thoughts?
