Will my U14 get into Wembley for the Taylor Swift concert (on the pitch)??

We're taking our two daughters to see the Eras tour at Wembley. When we bought the tickets we didn't know about the age restriction for the pitch (no U14 allowed). She will be 11 when we go.

Does anyone know if they check ID for U14s?
thanks

I don't think I would risk it.

Imagine what you would do if she was turned away on the night.

Can you try and swap with someone for seated tickets ?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 02/04/2024 19:22

Surely at 11 you will get asked as that is noticeably younger and they have laws to follow, in this case that she could be crushed. I don't want to rain on your parade Hopefully someone will come along who knows definitively.

OneCheeryQuoter · 02/04/2024 20:34

Thanks. We did think about trying to swap them but no idea how. I think we may have to sell them and then try and find more. Or perhaps see if anyone we know has tickets they'd be prepared to swap, but it's a big ask and highly unlikely I suspect

No, Wembley are really strict on this type of thing, it's for insurance reasons. God forbid the worst happens and she gets crushed you'd have absolutely no recourse.. Also it's all standing so surely an 11 year old won't see anything anyway?

There's discord and facebook groups where you might be able to swap but the issue is Transfer isn't likely to open until much closer to the time (for swapping dates), I suppose it could work if you swap for the same day cause then you can just meet in person, go in together and then go to your alternative seats

waftabout · 02/04/2024 20:47

I think I'd buy seats then sell yours. Don't think I'd risk it but have no idea how strict they'd be.

rc724 · 11/05/2024 15:32

I have the same problem - was so excited to get tickets we didn't see the age restrictions. And.... we are coming from the states. My kid will be 12 and she's pretty clearly 12 and not 14. Ugh.

2chocolateoranges · 11/05/2024 15:48

I know the big venues near us in Glasgow are pretty strict when it comes to standing tickets. It’s for the child’s safety .

YoureStuckOnMeLikeATattoohoohoo · 11/05/2024 15:52

All the venues I go to are very strict on this.

I've seen people getting turned away multiple times.

I've also seen them allow people into seats if they have them spare, but I imagine a TS concert won't have a spare seat.

Yeah she can just buy tickets to a sold out gig 🙈. Maybe contact Wembley to see if there is anything they can do.

Elebag · 11/05/2024 15:56

All I know is that at Harry Styles last year they had an empty couple of rows bordering the whole pitch at the start of the show. I assumed they were for stand-ers who had to sit down at some point. But they might also be for underage kids who turn up. The seats filled up a little as the gig went on.

mitogoshi · 11/05/2024 16:01

I bought mine through ticketmaster and it was clear that it was over 14 and must be accompanied by over 18 when I bought, it's the same for all standing arena/stadium tickets as a minimum though I've seen over 18 at some venues.

At the killers gig they were swopping tickets with people who didn't mind getting the more expensive standing tickets when it occurred but smaller venue than these and this was an unofficial local arrangement to help people out. It's potentially worth calling the venue but i suspect they won't be able to help.

ICanFixHim · 11/05/2024 17:40

@PepsiMaxandPringleStacks actually there will be people selling seats and possibly people willing to swap. It might cost a lot more but that's better than turning up with the poor kid and then getting turned away.
I know someone who got tickets a couple of weeks ago.

I wouldn't trust any tickets currently bought unless they are officially through ticketmaster. Tickets can't currently be transferred for the Eras tour yet so I would be so worried about scammers and you can't get in with screenshots it is a moving image ticket

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 11/05/2024 18:35

@mitogoshi are you saying under 18's in the pitch have to be accompanied by an over 18? Because it doesn't say that on axs?

OneCheeryQuoter · 12/05/2024 09:17

We have managed to swap tickets with someone, for another date, with seating tickets. Thanks for all your help and comments - much appreciated

That's great news! 👍

So pleased for your 11 yr old especially.

That's great news, I really wish they would leave decisions like this up to parents! My 10 year old is the same height as me!

MN224 · 19/05/2024 18:34

I’ve just started a thread about the same thing! Going to say my 11 year old is 14…wish me luck 🫠

LP369 · 21/05/2024 20:26

That’s great news, we’re having a similar panic as there was nothing about this when we purchased the tickets. Can I ask how you managed to swap the tickets?

mitogoshi · 21/05/2024 20:36

Ticket rules vary by location:

Liverpool: Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult of 18 years or over. LFC reserves the right to remove any child, who in the opinion of LFC, appears to be under 16 years of age and unaccompanied. The standing area of the Venue is not suitable for children under 14 years of age. LFC reserves the right to remove any child (and their responsible adult(s)) who in the opinion of LFC appears to be under 14 years of age from the standing area of the Venue or the Venue itself for safety reasons.
Cardiff: No children 5 and under allowed in the Stadium for this event.
Pitch Standing: No Under 12s, Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+.
Reserved Seats: Under 12s to be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ No Children 5 and Under.
Edinburgh: No under 5s. No under 14s on pitch. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult over 18 (max ratio 4 under 16s to 1 adult).
London: No under 5s. No under 14s on the pitch. All under 14s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

If you have a young person who looks even close to these ages they need photo identification to prove they are of the correct age, some venues are stricter than others. As a veteran of many standing events I would be very wary about standing with children, if you do get in I would stand closer to the back or sides (though I hope this demographic is a bit politer than the last gig I attended!)

At recent events stewards have tried to swop those with standing tickets for seats on the night but no guarantees.

mitogoshi · 21/05/2024 20:37

Can I point out these rules popped up when I bought my tickets last summer, but that was ticketmaster.

They can't, because you'd have dick heads taking toddlers into standing.

I am in the same boat with my 10 year old. She's extremely tall for her age and probably could just about pass for 14 but it's a big risk. Perhaps once the first Wembley leg starts in June we can get a sense of how strict they are. I think my backup plan is to bring £200 in cash and try to persuade 2 people with seated tickets to swap if it comes to it 😬

Dallasdays · 21/06/2024 18:01

Hello! If anyone is able to advise how strict they are actually being at Wembley that would be very helpful!
