I don't mean in the sense of wanting to batter the radio with a hammer (that bloody 'Thong Song'), I'm thinking a more 'It speaks to my soul' type reaction. I always well up at 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.

something inside so strong

allstarsprincess · 09/09/2010 12:49

Annie's song - John Denver

catherinewho · 09/09/2010 12:50

"Even Now" by Barry Manilow - my mum lost a baby before I was born and this is her song to that baby.

It's the only song in the world that can make me cry every time I listen to it.

allstarsprincess · 09/09/2010 12:51

Vincent - Don McLean. Reminds me of my grandad. Just thinking of the words makes me want to cry.

BerryLellow · 09/09/2010 12:51

I cried at Bridge Over Troubled Water the other day.

But yesterday I cried at 'Slipping through my fingers' by Abba Blush in my defence, DS1 started primary school this week!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 09/09/2010 12:51

Ah, Stealth, yes! That's another lip-wobbler.

neil diamond 'hello again' brings me to tears every single time i hear it

LadySanders · 09/09/2010 12:52

as does sinead o'connor my special child

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 09/09/2010 12:52

And now I shall ruin any shred of credibility I have ever had on here....I will admit to finding Chesney Hawkes's 'The One And Only' inspiring

RaggedRobin · 09/09/2010 21:30
- i listened to it a lot following an mc.

have been known to burst into tears unexpectedly while listening to songs in the car though - most recently

RaggedRobin · 09/09/2010 21:31

woops - i'm crying now listening to that jam song! but very pregnant, so have an excuse!

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/09/2010 21:38

We-ell, Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris has me in tears within a few seconds and not just because it's such a dreadful song. It's like a Pavlovian response. Blush

The others are as bad - Miss You Nights by Cliff Richard (and I loathe Cliff Richard for so many reasons); At Seventeen by Janis Ian ; and loads of other old cheesy rubbish.

StealthPolarBear · 09/09/2010 21:40

I started a thread last Christmas as they played 2 little boys by some welsh choir on the radio. I was in floods of tears.

SixtyFootDoll · 09/09/2010 21:41

anything sung by a male voice choir

StealthPolarBear · 09/09/2010 21:41

Actually, 2 songs that get to me for obvious reasons are by Elton John and Bat for Lashes - share the same title, name of my DH. I love them both.

BelleDameSansMerci · 09/09/2010 21:42

Stealth I think I was probably on that thread Grin It's awful, isn't it? I've been like that with it since I was a small child. Bizarre.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 09/09/2010 21:42

We had Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven at my Mums funeral in April, it was her favourite song and even singing it to myself in my head now makes me blub.

SixtyFootDoll · 09/09/2010 21:42

Oh and Wind beneath my Wings by Bette Midler FFS!

StealthPolarBear · 09/09/2010 21:42

that was it SFT
it was a welsh male voice choir
about little boys growing up to be soldiers and rescuing each other
Wow I'm almost crying now

LauraNorder · 09/09/2010 21:42

Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

dahu · 09/09/2010 21:42

Here, there and everywhere- The Beatles

Always gets me crying

StealthPolarBear · 09/09/2010 21:44

TheJollyPirate · 09/09/2010 21:44

Bridge Over Trouble Water - everytime.

TheOldestCat · 09/09/2010 21:45

If I hear by Coldplay, I'm immediately back in a car with my sister-in-law and family, driving in Italy on holiday a few years ago. Dear SIL died four years ago and this song always makes me think about her and how much I hope I am but half the mother she was to her lovely children. She was wonderful!
