Postcomm, the UK regulator of postal services (including Royal Mail, and other mail delivery companies) want to hear about all your experiences of using postal services -including both Post Office and the Royal Mail deliveries. Experiences may be good or bad - but should ideally relate to you as a parent or parent to be.

Everyone who completes this mini survey will be entered into a prize draw to win £250 of John Lewis vouchers and the survey is open to all UK Mumsnetters who are either parents or who are expecting to be a parent in the near future.

Thanks and good luck, MNHQ.

ruddynorah · 28/01/2010 18:18

hatwoman · 28/01/2010 18:33

Done

Cicatrice · 28/01/2010 20:37

Done. I have tried to be informative, but I really can't imagine what they think they are going to learn from it.

JulesJules · 28/01/2010 20:57

Done! Odd!

Ingles2 · 28/01/2010 22:27

Done, but I guarantee that survey will you tell you nothing!

tatt · 28/01/2010 22:32

as a survey - useless. As a means of informing people it exists I suppose it had some point.

The things that bother me about the postal service are not especially related to being a parent, they are things like the parcel service leaving my child's book outside the door in the rain. However they leave all my parcels outside the door, then ring the bell and walk off. That's not a problem if I'm in but they don't wait to find out. So far nothing has been stolen (I think) or so damaged that I've had to claim but it's just a matter or time.

Didn't fill that in as it specifically asked about relating to being a parent.

walkingonthemoon · 28/01/2010 22:49

that was a bit pointless but hope i get the vouchers!

annh · 28/01/2010 23:14

How odd was that? If I had completed that survey anywhere other than N, I would feel I had just been scammed in some way!

tatt · 29/01/2010 07:24

instead of just saying done - shall we discuss what is wrong with the postal service and what questions they should have asked?

I'm able to get to the office to collect a parcel if they took it away because I was out. However the opening hours are not suitable for most working parents. This deters people from sending parcels or requesting goods for postal delivery.

On the plus side - my Royal Mail collection point is nearer than other places and I still have a local post office. So if there was a way to tell people I order from that I prefer to order from those who use RM for deliveries I would do that. Hey I'm designing them a better questionaire - who do you prefer to have deliver to you and why is one of the questions they should have asked!

CokeFan · 29/01/2010 08:25

Well, the people in our post office are really nice and helpful but it's only a small building so it's quite hard to get into it (up a couple of steps, through a narrow door) with a pushchair. There's a couple of parking spaces outside it but mostly double yellows - which people park on anyway. I suppose that's parent-related.

And you don't want to be there on a Monday morning.

Haven't they taken away lots of services you used to be able to get at the PO? Like car tax, tv license etc.

SixtyFootDoll · 29/01/2010 09:38

Pick me!!
I thought it was a great survey ( creep emoticon)!!

midnightexpress · 29/01/2010 09:50

done but how odd

morningpaper · 29/01/2010 10:18

I hate the post office

All the local branches have closed down so now I have to drive 5 miles if I want to post a parcel

It is a COMPLETE pain

And the place where we pick up while-you-were-out mail won't take parcels, and that is another three miles out of town

and the place you take parcels won't do other post office functions, so it's all useless

the only good thing is that most of the local postmen are v. tasty and wear shorts

EleanoraBuntingCupcake · 29/01/2010 10:31

i love the postal service.

mp, my brother lives down your way and i always v. appreciative the postmen in their shorts. their bollocks would fall off if they tried that up here.

stealthsquiggle · 29/01/2010 10:44

very strange survey - but, mine not to reason why, mine just to take every opportunity to try and win JLP vouchers
