I've done the survey. There were a lot of questions about the Mr Men books, but no general comments box about them. I just wanted to add that although I enjoyed them as a child and have bought set for my own children, the big problem with the original stories is that some of them haven't aged well. E.g. several of them promote the message that if someone behaves badly towards you, it's perfectly acceptable to be just as bad (or even worse) in response - Mr Dizzy and Mr Nosey are two examples.

Twice I clicked next after filling in a lot of details it jumped back to the beginning. Very frustrating as I had filled it in twice.

This is broken on my phone, keeps taking me back to question 1.

Not a great survey, felt like it should be geared towards those with younger children after the first few questions. Have I bought Thomas books? Yes. Would I buy again? No. Bit not because they are rubbish or I have a moral issue with them, just because my child I bought them for is now a teenager and not that into Thomas. And no, no I don't have any in my house.

I'd have preferred this if it had been upfront and stated straight off that it was really about the Mr Men/Little Miss books.
It felt like the first part of the survey was just shoved in to make it seem like a more general survey. I've got teens, so not really relevant now.

Hi all,
Thanks for your feedback and apologies for the confusion. We've taken it into account and added clarification to who this survey is for to avoid further confusion.

What a narrow range of books to discuss - almost all linked to television and mostly very old. Where's the contemporary writing by new authors? Also surprised school wasn't an option for where get book recommendations from. Easy to add. Twitter also good and sites like Books For Topics.

I have completed it and it was too much about Mr men/little miss. Perfectly nice books btw but outdated now so I will choose different for my child.
And it isn't clear when you start the survey that's what it's aiming at.
And yes to only being aimed towards tv related stories. I prefer to buy books not related to tv shows.

Also a grammatical error in the title... should be children’s books.

Weird to have a list of options including 'More than once a week' and 'At least once a week'. Unless you buy exactly one book a week, those two options are exactly the same.

I've completed it, but the range of books included are very restrictive.
All based around pre-schooler TV shows, apart from The Gruffalo.
There's no options for those with older children.

Plus the Mr/Little Miss series are outdated now.

Seems very random..
(Unless Mr/Little Miss are going to redefine their pronouns? Little Xe Sunshine anyone?)

They did make the gruffalo into a Christmas short one year. I know it's not a series but something families might have seen together.

Completed. Think it's frustrating that by "Peter Rabbit" or "Paddington" or "Winnie-the-Pooh" it clearly means the abominations that are modern TV/film versions rather than the classic timeless literature the author originally created. Thus it's a survey about modern characters/TV shows than really what I think about children's books!

The one book that has stuck with me from childhood is "THE ZOO" where you lift the flaps up till he gets the right pet !!

Now my 3 older kids (9/10/12yrs) wouldn't dream of reading a book unless it has a superhero with Lazer eyes or death defying motorbike stunt man in it hahaha. My youngest 2 (5+7 yrs) love anything with silly rhyming words in the story or colourful pictures in it to 'spot' everything you can at the end of the story like a game of eyespy

Survey completed but i don't think my answers were very useful since my kids are now too old for all the listed options. (Also they hated Mr men books)
