We at MNHQ are interested in your experiences of the school run.

This survey is open to UK parents with at least one child who is attending an external school (ie not home-schooled).

Click here to complete the survey.

All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).
Thanks and good luck!

I couldnt do this s when I got to the days of week questions it kept whizzing back up to the top each time I'd selected an answer. So eg Monday am selection, then scroll all the way back down to do Monday pm etc. It got too time consuming

speakfriendandenter · 10/08/2019 11:24

No option to select if this behaviour is not witnessed.
Returns to the top & wipes selected options.
Unable to complete.

StealthPolarBear · 10/08/2019 11:30

Glad that wasn't just me. It seemed to be taking me back to the 'other - please enter' bbox although I'd not ticked other

TellMeItsNotTrue · 11/08/2019 01:04

First question - DS is 4, there is an option for under 4, or for 5 - he is neither 🤔 I've gone with 5 as it's more accurate as he's towards the older end of 4 rather than closer to under 4 (maybe should have been 4 AND under?)

HappyLoneParentDay · 12/08/2019 20:59

Worked fine for me??

madeyemoodysmum · 12/08/2019 23:12

Fine

HeroicAlien · 13/08/2019 00:09

I agree with StealthPolarBear - and it's not the first time I've had this problem. It seems that as soon as you enter anything into a text box field, the survey defaults back to that field every time.

I assume it's a survey monkey issue rather than a Mumsnet one, but it's ruddy irritating!

Completed but just a point about the question asking what schools can do about it. It will vary from school to school. Our school have introduced having staff in the playground 10 minutes early so staff can drop and run. Variable drop off times for different ages would be difficult for parents with children of different ages. Allowing parents to drop off and staff to collect children from a drop off point may not be feasible without an appropriate area (my children's school does not have this) but also is an additional to costs paying for the extra time. It may not sound a lot - a couple of members of staff for 15/20 minutes but it is when set against tight school budgets. Do you want this or the school to be able to afford glue, paint, new books etc. It really is that tight.

PorridgeAgainAbney · 13/08/2019 10:24

Done, I think. Pressed Complete and had to press it again as it froze.

Some of the options seemed a bit ridiculous/designed to give a goady/controversial response. As pp says, how many schools would find it feasible to have staff collecting kids from their parents or having staggered drop off times, and why should people living near by move their cars to create more spaces for drop off Hmm.

BackforGood · 13/08/2019 21:37

Seems to be working now, although it might have made more sense to only ask for responses from people who drive their dc to school, as none of it really applied to me.

callmecrazybut · 16/08/2019 10:23

DS is also 4 but I've selected 5 as there is no option for 4!

Catquest1 · 19/08/2019 18:42

Done

RowanMumsnet · 20/08/2019 10:35

Hello - thanks for completing and apologies for Survey Monkey glitches/oddly coded answers - we'll ask the team here to take a look

And sorry if the qs seemed designed to provoke - they weren't intended to, honest guv - we were trying to think of answer options people might find useful/accurate (after all, some people do park across others' driveways etc...)

Jaderice21 · 23/08/2019 21:39

done gl all x

BlackeyedGruesome · 09/09/2019 23:04

if you click in a box to add writing while on your phone it shoots you back to that box. (i did this one on the computer and not had that problem.)

I had to admit to shouting at another driver, when they bumped up onto the pavement just behind us, when one nearly ran over my daughters foot with their car.

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 23/09/2019 20:40

Waiting for this to be fixed before I fill it in, there's no option for age 4.

Twinklegreen · 24/09/2019 00:15

I started to complete but realised that there was no 3rd option to indicate that I have not participated or witnessed others doing these things so didn't feel I could complete ( I live close to school so my dc's basically hop over the fence) definitely have seen a lot of the behaviour in the first few questions but didn't want to lie and say I had witnessed others doing it when I haven't! Can you add a 'neither' option?

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 25/09/2019 13:45

Done. What's frustrating is that schools/traffic wardens & the police really shouldn't be having to spend time on this.

People should drive & park properly.

And while I'm ranting, there should be a special soggy place in hell for those who drive through puddles.
