We'd like to find out some more about how you feel about the Mumsnet Talk boards.

All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

[edit - thanks to all who completed the survey, it's now closed. We had a great response and look forward to doing the evaluation soon]

Click here to complete the survey.

Thanks and good luck!

A bit irritating. Spent time completing survey, pressed submit only to be told that it's under too heavy traffic to process and to try later. Can't say I'm inclined to fill the whole thing in again! Poor process, MNHQ.

Angie169 · 27/03/2019 14:04

Done
but I wish the screen would stop scrolling up whilst you're trying to fill it in

RedToothBrush · 27/03/2019 14:25

@MNHQ

Are you aware that the survey is being shared on twitter in an effort to influence MN to close down debate of trans issues on the site.

Whilst I understand that there are many people who might have different opinions, how can you ensure that it is regular users of the site who are being heard and that an organised campaign on twitter by non-users isn't going to be used against women here?

It now seems that this is so open to abuse and being gamed that it will defeat the entire objective of what you were trying to achieve by giving you data that does not relate to your loyal user base but relates to a lobby group who have a malicious intent essentially against you and your commerical interests.

RedToothBrush · 27/03/2019 14:26

interesting.

its now saying the survey is closed...

MichaelMumsnet · 27/03/2019 14:27

Yes - we closed the survey today. We have enough responses to evaluate the answers. A big thank you to all who contributed.

BiologyNotBigotry · 27/03/2019 14:51

So you closed the survey because you've had "enough responses", knowing that a particular group of people have been actively encouraging like-minded people to fill it in to bias the results. Did people have to attach their username to their response, or was it completely anonymous? Do you have anything in place to ensure your surveys are only taken by members & can't be taken multiple times to skew the results? Also, while I'm here asking lots of questions, have you ever had "enough responses" to shut a survey after a couple of days before?

Just, y'know, asking for a friend who's put out she didn't get a chance to fill it in...!

CharlesChickens · 27/03/2019 14:59

I tried to fill it in yesterday and it wouldn’t load, it seemed there were too many people also trying. I have never had that before.

LangCleg · 27/03/2019 15:11

Yes - we closed the survey today. We have enough responses to evaluate the answers. A big thank you to all who contributed.

But we'd like an answer to this question, please, Michael:

Are you aware that the survey is being shared on twitter in an effort to influence MN to close down debate of trans issues on the site.

Once again, I draw your attention to your most excellent promoted video, Walking on Eggshells. What can you do to reassure your users that they are not being subjected to coercive control using you as the agents?

I realise I'm boring as hell with this - but I hope that if I keep asking, you will eventually answer.

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 27/03/2019 15:21

Do you have anything in place to ensure your surveys are only taken by members & can't be taken multiple times to skew the results?

I completed the survey and, as I recall, it was open to non-members as well.

@MNHQ, can you please confirm? Thank you.

averylongtimeago · 27/03/2019 15:24

I see the survey is now closed- I would have liked to fill it in.

I am concerned that with the sharing on Twitter by TRAs you may get skewed results.
Is their anyway you can check if the respondents have signed up in the last few days, presumably to "game" the results?

BiddyPop · 27/03/2019 15:37

I would have liked to have filled it in also.
As a regular user, not in the UK but as a mother and a SN parent, and a WOHM, and a prepper, and a camper, and a holiday maker, and a budgeter, a DC of interesting parents, and someone who deals with life's rollercoaster from time to time in life (and all the shite that that brings with it^), .......

and all sorts of ways that I have benefitted from the boards, and hopefully given something back to.

Yes I would have liked to have participated.

LimeKiwi · 27/03/2019 15:58

To the question did you have to attach your username - it asked me for mine so I'd have assumed it asked for everyones?

LimeKiwi · 27/03/2019 15:59

Doubting myself now lol - it definitely asked for a name anyway.

GabrielleNelson · 27/03/2019 16:01

Yes, in a quick search I found two people on Twitter encouraging others to fill it in.

twitter.com/nuffield_girl/status/1110391444467052544

twitter.com/LirvaC/status/1110638535328055296

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 27/03/2019 17:08

I hadn't filled the survey in

I would also like confirmation that you are aware that the survey is being 'gamed' and what you have in place to ensure that only valid members are listened to

sackrifice · 27/03/2019 17:10

Any survey that has been gamed in immediately not valid.

So whatever the results are, they are now meaningless.

Pointless analysing them at all.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 27/03/2019 17:11

Ive just had a quick look at that first twitter link

Judging by that it should be a piece of piss for mumsnet to be able to see if the person completing the survey is doing it in good faith

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 27/03/2019 18:59

Surely MN will know the referring site? And generally, people who arrived on the survey via twitter will not be MN users as MN would enter via here?
