Like all good footie matches (but nowhere near as long, cold or full of overpaid wag-fodder) it's a survey in two halves...

The Tonight Programme on ITV have asked us to find out what parents think about some of the pressures children might face today. Plus we'd also - rather nosily - like to know what, if anything, you're giving up or taking up for New Year.

The survey is open to all Mumsnetters, won't take more than a couple of minutes to complete and everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw to win a fab and shiny Asus x52 laptop worth £650

You can take the survey here

Thanks and good luck, MNHQ.

Sounds like a plan Baubles.

I feel I deserve compensation for the emotional trauma I constantly undergo when I see fab competitions I want to enter in Active and excitedly click on the thread only to be told in the last line of the OP after the prize has been described in delectable detail that 'Sorry, all you filthy forriners can't have it'

At least tell us in the thread title and save us some anguish! Wink

What a silly survey. Confused Hope I win too!

AnnMumsnet · 06/12/2010 11:03

Hello overseas MNers - I've checked and we're happy for non UK based MNers to take this survey - HOWEVER we would say that if you were to win the laptop we'd need to dispatch to a UK address - hope this works for you. Grin

MmeLindt · 06/12/2010 11:30

Hurrah. Thanks MNHQ.

Meglet · 06/12/2010 13:18

done.

Housemum · 06/12/2010 13:47

I didn't do all the "celeb" ones (mainly because I couldn't give a flying fig about Cheryl Cole/Kate Middleton etc) :)

The survey definitely is trying to prove its own point though - you almost had to answer that children these days have far too much, family values have gone, and they are all sat inside feeling miserable.

SummerRain · 06/12/2010 17:39

lol.... the only UK address i could think of is my aunt and she still something she borrowed from my mother 10 years ago so i doubt a laptop would be sent on Wink

Although, if i had no address to send it to i'd be bound to win and could then suck up to a distant cousin for mailing assistance HmmGrin

Thanks MNHQ Smile

annh · 06/12/2010 23:14

Oh for crying out loud I also put in my password instead of my email address! Time to go to bed!

Done

michellez · 08/12/2010 08:02

I will ask for a pay rise, we would love to have another child, but without the increase we will find it hard. If the increase happens we will work really hard on the production line without contraception!

gramercy · 08/12/2010 11:58

Done. Hope I win Grin

Tambasher · 08/12/2010 12:49

Oh a survey I just wanted to type...... never to listen to/take back soon to be ex-husband.

Ok survey it is.

nameymacnamechanger · 08/12/2010 13:20

I enjoyed the second half much more than the first half.

Thought the first half was quite vague and that the results could be interpreted however way chosen. I had to tick my son plays outdoors alone much less than i got toas a child, I don't see this as a bad thing though to be honest.

I don't know if I'm eligible [sp?] but whilst our local tram in Dublin tonight broke down due to faulty signals we, my nine yr old son and I decided to head for the nearest bus stop, upon arrival at said stop our bits had been frozen to within an inch of our miserable lives as our goverment fat cats rolled out a drachonian budget to keep our fat german/french etc brussells pals happy.

we did after no sign of public transport bus decide to brave the 15 min journey to our destination. On said trip I discovered more from the joy of walking than any 5 minute tram ride I explained to my ds the finer workings of new yrs resolutions as he had suggested we tske up more walking as a way of keeping fit.

I'm proud to say where there is youth there is hope and optimism. Walked the fifteen mins, wont give up the food n fags n booze excess this second but ds def gave me no pun intneded food for thought.

Smile

ps, never got a blue peter badge and could never even send a jimmy saville letter cause I lived in ireland but please can I have a consolation prize just to make up for all the dissapointment? Wink

My tip of the day and hopefully my being in with a chance to win this thing is..........................walk with youyr kids five minutes longer! their gifts to us come from the most unlikeliest of places!!!!!!!!!!

Mhamai · 09/12/2010 05:08

Ps my ds nearly ten has faced the pressures of 'shag bands' brightly colured plastic wrist bands that either have the wearer daring or be dared to do cetain things. not sure if this is happening in the uk but unfortunately I have found out to my naievety/ ignorance personal shock the significance of these bands. Sad Am willing to discuss further if asked.

Mhamai · 09/12/2010 05:18

Having read the whole postings to date, I now realise that although I'm eligible to enter I can't connect to the comp link for the survey. Hmm All a bit x factor if u ask me. Wink Grin

Mhamai · 09/12/2010 05:46

Have since discovered a way onto the survey, so Blush but nonetheless DONE! Good luck everyone.
