We were sent all the different kinds of trousers and a white polo shirt.

We really liked the white polo shirt. The fabric was very nice and it felt good to the touch and looked good when worn.

We weren't keen on the trousers. The fabric felt very plasticy and was not nice to touch. We didn't try them on because they really didn't feel that good.

Thank you very much for letting us test them.

ladyjaynes · 22/09/2026 13:35

We had trousers. I’m really impressed with the fit, also thought they fell nicely and looked smart. Washed well and didn’t need ironing

Twinkletots1 · 22/09/2026 13:42

We had the cardigan, girls pinafore dress and boys shorts.

The quality on all products is great. I would say better quality than the other uniform we have purchased directly from school supplier.

Cardigan 60% cotton. Other school uniform supplied 40%. Only issue is it’s not branded but works well if it doesn’t need to be branded at your school!

Pinafore is really cute with the little bow - DD loves it.

Shorts were slightly too big for my DS, but again great quality. Only thing I would say about shorts is that they have a zip and a little buckle that I think my four year old would struggle with. I personally would buy shorts without zip/buckle for my four year old - but sure would work for when he’s a bit older! Hoping they still fit next year.

aggga8 · 22/09/2026 13:42

We tested the trousers and polo shirts. Both items were good quality, fitted well and were very comfortable to wear. They washed really well and didn’t crease much, so they didn’t need ironing, which was a big plus. My children were very happy with them, and I would definitely consider buying Price & Buckland uniform in the future.

munchbunch12 · 22/09/2026 13:44

We had trousers, a skirt and a polo shirt. We were very impressed with the quality, especially the polo shirt. The fit was good and the items washed well. My child likes them and I'd buy them at the prices listed.

NonstopMam · 22/09/2026 13:54

We tried plain jumpers and trousers for my daughter who has just started secondary. The quality was great compared to the supermarket and high street items we have bought in the past. The clothes wash well and keep their shape. The sizing came up large, so there's plenty of wear in the uniform.
My daughter said the jumpers were really thick, to the point they have been too warm to wear this month - and we're in Scotland!

mata777 · 22/09/2026 13:54

The trousers- good quality, good lenght but daughter would prefer a slimmer fit. Skirt - again happy with the quality of the material just the wrong style, straight skirt would suit better.

racheltravel17 · 22/09/2026 14:01

My daughter tried black trousers, and two different styles of jumper. She really liked the trousers, and said they were comfortable and soft. They washed really well, didn't need ironing and didn't lose their colour or shape. The jumpers were nice although one was much heavier than the other, and the lighter one wasn't great - I felt the material was too thin. The heavier one was nice, but my daughter said it was too heavy for her, so didn't like wearing it. Overall, great uniform, easy to wear, easy to wash and held it's colour and shape. Only negative was the sizing, as when you get to 12 year old girls, they're starting to be all shapes and sizes so although the generic sizing was good, the trousers needed a belt for my daughter.

Wincher · 22/09/2026 14:03

Ours just arrived in the post this lunchtime! Will get my son to try them out over the next few days. I fear the trousers are going to be too big though.

Dizzywizz · 22/09/2026 16:16

Size was too big unfortunately- I asked for 14 however they sent me size 30” as they don’t do
it by age, but it was full grown man size/ my son isn’t massive but wears age 14 or 15 Asda trousers and they fit perfectly. The quality and price was great, however the size was not so he couldn’t wear them properly, he just tried them on

Marketa85 · 22/09/2026 17:01

We tested the white polo shirt, dress and cardigan/sweatshirt. They were all size 7-8 years and most items were a good fit apart from the dress which was rather big. The polo shirt was of good quality and feel, my daughter commented it was very comfortable. She also liked the cardigan/sweatshirt which is always a struggle to find in shops otherwise as our school requires green. She said it was nice and warm and soft to touch. She was not too sure about the dress as it was too big but she said she will be happy to try it when she grows. The items washed well and the colour did not run. I will consider buying the brand in the future for the next academic year if my daughter continues to be happy with it. The only small improvement would be having a nicer button on the polo shirt (perhaps a flower or a heart) to make it bit more girly.

MariaCG · 22/09/2026 17:32

We tested the boys trousers, shorts, jumper and polo.

The trousers looked very smart, although they were quite slim-fitting on my little one. He personally prefers a little more room for movement, especially for running around and being active at school, so the cut perhaps wasn’t quite as practical for him.

The shorts fitted really well and were comfortable to wear. They were perhaps a little on the long side, but otherwise the fit was spot on.

The jumper was incredibly soft and comfortable, and the navy is a gorgeous, smart shade. It immediately felt like a really lovely quality garment.

The Polo was my little one’s favourite item. It was exceptionally soft and felt noticeably different from the supermarket school polos we’ve previously had. He found it really comfortable to wear. My only slight criticism would be that the fabric feels a little on the thin side and, being white, it is slightly see-through. That may simply be more noticeable because of the colour.

Overall, I was very impressed with the comfort, softness and smart appearance of the uniform and would definitely recommend Price & Buckland.

She11 · 22/09/2026 17:48

We got sent grey trousers, grey dress, blue and white dress and white polo shirt.

Overall the quality was really good on all items and they washed well, the only thing I would say was the polo top we tried was really thick so more for winter then summer as my children were really hot init, the trousers did feel abit different also, both dresses were really nice

LittleGem638 · 22/09/2026 18:02

We were sent a skirt, pinafore dress and two types of cardigans.
Straight away I was impressed with the quality, the material felt good quality and expensive
The skirt and pinafore fit great, I did find that the cardigans were a little too long on the arms for my daughter
The uniform all washed great, no faults
My little girl loves the uniforms, especially the knitted cardigan.
I would definitely consider buying more uniform from Price & Buckland, I am considering buying the cardigan in a smaller size for my daughter to use in winter as the quality is great and really thick

BogoPogo · 23/09/2026 10:19

We were sent boys shorts, trousers and a polo shirt. Clearly much better quality than the supermarket uniform I usually buy - much thicker fabric and holds shape better. Whether this is a priority for primary school kids uniform is up to you

Terminatrix · 23/09/2026 11:15

We received 2 polo shirts & 2 jumpers.
The quality was very good with excellent stitching. We noted that one of the jumpers was thicker than the other but this was because the thicker one was 100% acrylic and the thinner one was 50% cotton & 50% acrylic. All 4 items felt like they had a very high thread count which I was very impressed with. Sometimes supermarket uniforms use thin material that is susceptible to tearing. The colours are vibrant on all the tops, even after washing. They didn't fade or shrink. My son loves to wear them too and they fit great and are gentle on his skin.

My nine-year-old boy tried grey trousers, grey shorts, a white polo and a red v-neck sweatshirt.

He’s an average nine year old in terms of height and size and the items fitted perfectly. He’s also a very heavy wearer of clothes as he’s a tree-climbing, running, football-playing, messy-eating whirlwind.

The white polo neck is a lovely thick cotton and has been washed six times with zero shrinkage and no greying. A tomato stain came out with a quick spray of vanish. It’s very impressive quality for the price and I would definitely buy these again.

The shorts and trousers are wipe-clean and are extremely well-made. They have buttons to alter the size of the waist. The shorts are slightly longer than others I’ve bought, which suits my son perfectly. The trousers have not yet ripped at the knees, which is a minor miracle!

The red polo is soft and quite thick, and has not washed out at all, despite going through the washer at least six times.

All the clothes are quick-drying on the line. The shorts and trousers have been through the dryer several times and quality has not been affected. Best of all - none of it needs to go anywhere near an iron!

Overall, as a mum of 4 boys who have gone through every school uniform brand imaginable over the last 13 years, I’d say this uniform is definitely among the very best we’ve tried. I’d say it’s similar quality to the Clark’s clothing, and is at a similar price point.

Five stars, would definitely recommend!

We tested the trousers and v-neck jumpers and as soon as you took the items out of the packaging you can feel the quality and I was really impressed, especially for the price point.

The fit was good, my son is very slim so the pull in on the trousers was great but maybe a 'fit' option would be something to consider moving forward

The 2 jumpers I tested were different, the normal one is quite thick and would be very warm and cosy for winter and the fine knit would be better for under a blazer but both are great quality

I had never heard of this brand before the test from Mumsnet and I will be considering them in the future

Sabahatkhan · 23/09/2026 18:21

I really like the sizing, the white polo shirts, good fabric and sizes, really like grey pinafore specially the side zip and shoulder button to make it easy to wear in the morning, the fabric and colour of Red cardigan is bright red, it didn’t fade even after washes but it left a few stains on white shirt (washable). But I really liked the quality, sizes and the prices of all the products.

SheerSerendipity · 23/09/2026 20:22

We tested the pinafore and trousers. Both products looked nice however were very large for their size. The trousers felt quite stiff and my son refused to wear them as they didn’t bend like his usual trousers did when he got up and down, although that may change after a few washes. The dress for my daughter felt nice but she hasn’t got a chance to wear it as I don’t think it’ll fit for another few years.

juliehh73 · 23/09/2026 22:19

We tested black school trousers in size 30, we requested around age15 for my very tall and skinny 13 year-old.
We were exceptionally pleased with a cut of these trousers they were tailored in such a way that didn’t exaggerate his slimness, like some trousers that are made for tall people tend to have a skinny/slim cut these didn’t. Also, they had an adjustable waistband, which is unusual when you get to older teenage size clothes.
The quality was outstanding, so much so my son thought the trousers had come from a very posh shop. They weren’t highly starched like you find with high Street store school uniform trousers.
We were also sent some grey school shorts, my son has yet to try these, however, I can see the quality is the same high standard.
I will definitely be buying from this company in the future.

loubylou8585 · 25/09/2026 09:04

We tested the blue polo tops which I was very impressed with, true to size and washed very well. A quick iron over is all that's needed once washed whereas with other uniform brands I have to give them a good iron to remove the creases. My daughter has been wearing this for school since we received them to test.

We also tested the pinafore dress and boys grey trousers. Again the quality felt good but they where both too big for my children despite getting the correct size for them but will definatly wear them once they fit them.

DaisyDando · 25/09/2026 18:55

We tested the trousers and a red polo shirt. I was absolutely delighted with the quality. I could tell as soon as I opened the packaging that it was better than the supermarket polo shirts I have bought. The trousers were a good fit and washed well. My DS said it was all fine and it washed nicely.
I would buy again.

LiftyLift · 25/09/2026 19:01

We tested the polo shirt and sweatshirt. I was sent trousers too but DS is still wearing shorts.

I liked the quality of the polo shirt. It was a thicker material than my usual supermarket ones and the bigger collar sits nice on the jumper.

The sweatshirt initially felt like good quality, but after a couple of washes there is evidence of bobbling appearing compared to the other items I bought at the same time. This was a bit disappointing as I would expect this not to happen.

Overall, I wouldn’t pay the prices of these items unfortunately.

MariyaD · 27/09/2026 08:20

• Which item(s) of uniform did you test?
We tested them all - jumper, trousers, short pants, polo T-shirt and a sweater
• What did you think of the quality?
It's easy to make a difference with the quality from the one sold in the supermarkets or our school supplier. We came to the conclusion that only the jumper needs improvement. The trousers, the short pants and the T-shirt are great quality, soft to the touch, easy care when it's about washing and ironing - they are definitely better quality from the supermarkets.
The sweater unfortunately my son didn't like it at all as he finds it itchy, he didn't like the fabric. It feels like a cheap imitation of wool that will makes you sweat the whole day.

• How did the uniform fit?
The uniform fits great, especially the trousers they can be easily adjusted on the waist area. The length is right, the material made from just fine. My son love them both - the short and the long one!
• How did it wash and wear?
Washing the uniform is just fine, the sweater didn't dye the rest of the laundry as this was my main concern. Everything came out clean and fresh with no issues. Laundry got air dry outdoor and not in tumble dryer so the clothes dried out in perfect shape with no shrinking.
I'm unsure if I dry the sweater in the tumble dryer, it will probably shrink due to the fabric made of, I'm thinking I should stick to air dry.
• What did your child think of it?
My child like everything but the sweater.
• Would you consider buying Price & Buckland uniform in future?
I would definitely consider as it's not easy to find the right trousers elsewhere due to lack of size or lack of fit around the legs. Same apply for the T-shirts that is hard to find during the school year as everywhere they are out of stock.
• Is there anything you think could be improved?
Definitely the sweater fabric is something that needs to be reconsidered, it's not just my opinion, it's my son's opinion too.
