This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who have been testing Pura’s plastic free baby wipes.

Here’s what Pura has to say: “We believe being eco-friendly is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. And that we should all be able to look after our planet, simply by looking after our families. We put babies first, with anti-allergy, organic ingredients and sustainable, biodegradable materials. So you’re protecting their skin and protecting their future too. We’re here to empower everyone to protect the future of the planet today, with eco-friendly products that are affordable and accessible for all”

Some more information on the wipes can be found below:

Pura baby wipes come in 2 types - flushable baby wipes & non flushable baby wipes. They contain 99% water & organic aloe vera. Pura baby wipes are the most accredited baby wipes on the market - certified Vegan safe & multi-accredited by the British Skin Foundation, Allergy UK, PEFC, Not Tested On Animals and the Soil Association. They are 100% biodegradable, 100% compostable & made from PEFC certified plant fibres. The flushable baby wipes are accredited as ‘Fine to Flush’ by Water UK. Best of all they’re totally, utterly, 100%, honestly and truly, PLASTIC FREE!

Testers, please give your feedback by answering the following questions, as well as completing the short survey we’ve emailed to you:

  1. What did you like most about Pura’s wipes?
  2. Would you look to purchase Pura wipes instead of your usual product?
  3. What did you think of the overall quality of the wipes?
  4. How did you rate your overall experience with Pura?
  5. How likely would you be to recommend Pura wipes to someone else?

All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

  1. What did you like most about Pura’s wipes?
I liked that they aren't made from plastic and are biodegradable, especially as I'm trying to make small changes to reduce our families single use plastic.
  1. Would you look to purchase Pura wipes instead of your usual product?
I would consider switching to Pura but haven't looked to see how the price compares to the usual plastic free wipes I currently buy.
  1. What did you think of the overall quality of the wipes?
The quality of the wipes is great.
  1. How did you rate your overall experience with Pura?
Experience with Pura was great, the website was easy to navigate to order from.
  1. How likely would you be to recommend Pura wipes to someone else?
It's very likely I will recommend Pura to other mum friends.

  1. What did you like most about Pura’s wipes?
The eco friendly values behind the brand. The wipes are very damp and did a good job cleaning a mucky bottom, but we found the wipes told fragile and rip too easily.
  1. Would you look to purchase Pura wipes instead of your usual product?
Unfortunately the wipes are more expensive than my usual brand, and my husband complained about how often they rip and split. Also difficult to pull them out of the pack one handed which is essential when dealing with a wiggly, mucky one year old's nappy!
  1. What did you think of the overall quality of the wipes?
Unfortunately they rip and my husband found it impossible to pull one out of the pack without it ripping! Also not a fan of the smell of the wipes. A shame because we loved the nappies.
  1. How did you rate your overall experience with Pura?
The nappies are wonderful, the delivery and customer service has been great. Unfortunately let down by the quality of wipes.
  1. How likely would you be to recommend Pura wipes to someone else?
Unlikely. Which is a shame as I do love the ethos behind the brand.

  1. What did you like most about Pura’s wipes?
That they are biodegradable and flushable.
  1. Would you look to purchase Pura wipes instead of your usual product?
Yes. I use cloth reusable wipes normally, but these are great for on-the-go.
  1. What did you think of the overall quality of the wipes?
Good quality but quite delicate, they tear easily - but I suppose this is due to them being biodegradable
  1. How did you rate your overall experience with Pura?
Easy checkout, quick delivery.
  1. How likely would you be to recommend Pura wipes to someone else?
Quite likely- only thing that would make me hestitate is that the wipes are a little tricky to get out the packet.

I was testing the flushable wipes but I haven't flushed any because so many people on here and elsewhere have said they shouldn't be flushed even if they say they can be. I don't know what's true and what's not and i don't have the time or inclination to do in depth research, so I just avoided it to be on the safe side.

  1. What did you like most about Pura’s wipes?
The lack of plastic, the large pack size and the lack of any ingredients which are bad for the skin. I liked how wet they are too.
  1. Would you look to purchase Pura wipes instead of your usual product?
Probably not. I mainly use cloth wipes but use disposables when I'm super busy or out and about and these were really hard to get out of the packet one at a time so not great for on the go. I might buy them occasionally though, especially if I could get them in the supermarket as I like the fact they're plastic free.
  1. What did you think of the overall quality of the wipes?
Good, they were nice and wet, so really good for mucky hands and faces. The smell I did not like at all but I did find it subsided once the packet had been open a few days. I struggled to get them out of the packet without pulling out a big clump which made it hard to deal with poos as I needed two free hands to get them out.
  1. How did you rate your overall experience with Pura?
Good, easy to use the website and extremely fast delivery - that might come in useful with any emergency nappy needs! I have had an awful lot of emails since I ordered though which I find a bit annoying.
  1. How likely would you be to recommend Pura wipes to someone else?
Yes I would if the person is very eco conscious or needs wipes for sensitive skin / allergies, but probably not to others as I don't think the quality outweighs cheaper alternatives, the real benefits are lack of plastic and for those with sensitive skin or allergies.

  1. I like the fact that these are flushable and plastic free
  1. Possibly but only if they are cheaper.
  1. Wipes are a good size and retain moisture. However, they are difficult to get out of the pack and tear easily.
  1. Excellent - very speedy delivery and website easy to use
  1. I’d definitely let others know about Pura
