  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?
  2. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?
  3. Was the paint easy to apply?
  4. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?
  5. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?

All who give their feedback via both the thread and survey will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?

Lavender cupcake as my kitchen has purple accents.

  1. Was the paint easy to apply?

  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?

Only put on second coat today will report back!

  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?

It was really easy to work with, the colour glided on easily, low splash, low smell and the colour was deep and even after just one coat.

  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?

Duck Egg - was really lovely, a nice deep colour but not as vivid as Teal.

  1. Was the paint easy to apply?

Yes it smoothed on well, I used a roller and cut the edges in with a paintbrush. It wasn’t too runny so not too many splashes.

  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?

Yes. I wiped off grubby finger prints which came off easily. Not really stubborn dirt, but I think it would wipe off fine if it was.

  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?

Yes, this paint was lovely to work with, smoothed on well, didn’t splash too much and the smell was not too potent. The colour is bright and modern and I’m really pleased with the final look. Thank you.

  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?

I was really impressed. It went into the walls nicely with a roller. We needed 2 coats and luckily just had enough!

  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?

Dash of Nutmeg. I'm really pleased with it. It's for our babies nursery and I wanted a grey/neutral but a warm one, this fits the bill!

  1. Was the paint easy to apply?

I didn't paint but I asked my husband and he said that he had no issues with it!

  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?

Not yet, though I'm sure it won't be long. If we're pleased with it we're already aiming to paint our halls and stairs with this paint, as we're so fed up of grubby hand prints.

  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?

Yes. Really good coverage and colour and so practical for a family with young children.

1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?
Lovely deep and rich colour, dark without making the room seem smaller, found it fairly easy to work with (as a novice), kids love the finished look - so do we.

2. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?
My kids wanted a space theme in their playroom so we chose Midnight Navy which we are going to style up with some gold wall stickers of rockets and planets, moon lamp, etc.
They originally wanted black but we convinced them dark blue was a better option and they (and we) are very happy with the colour.
It has come up really nicely, covered an existing mural well.

3. Was the paint easy to apply?
Yes, we were painting over a mural left by the previous owners that was lovely but a bit babyish.
I'm a decorating beginner and was quite nervous about painting with a dark colour as I thought poor application would really show up (especially the radiator) but wanted to give it a try. I used the video library on the Crown website and took my time and found it easier than I expected.
It must have been easy to apply as I managed to do it without making a mess of the room or myself.
We did two coats which was enough to completely cover the mural that was there - which featured some dark colours including brown and black.
I was also happy that the paint didn't have too strong a smell since that room is hard to ventilate well.

4. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?
I was interested in the paint as - despite my kids actually being relatively careful - I have to deal with, variously, paint, chalk, pens, stickers, grubby hands, scuff marks from shoes, all of that, especially around the lower half of the walls / skirting boards. I've been abusing those Magic Erasers on the walls in the playroom (which were previously off white) but there's only so much Magic Eraser a wall can take before the paint starts coming off...so durable, scrub-friendly paint sounded perfect for us.

It's not been long since we painted it but I've already had to wipe off a few grubby pawprints and some crayon, which have come out well.

5. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?
In my fantasy world, I live in one of those clutter-free houses, painted in gorgeous colours and beautifully styled, that you see on Instagram. In reality, it's clean but a bit of a jumble. I can turn a blind eye to mess but I have always hated scuff marks and wall marks (I think they look shabby) and when the previous owner was selling they painted everything (off)white - the worst colour for that. So while struggling to find the time (and energy) to decorate I was getting really bugged all the marks that magically reappear having just been cleaned - especially in the playroom. Having tried this paint out I'm really pleased both with the colour and finish (and at myself for actually managing to get some decorating done), and so far the paint does seem pretty robust. With winter approaching I am sure it will be well tested by two muddy kids.

To be honest I was feeling a bit daunted choosing paint colours and weighing up whether to spend lots of money on a posh brand of paint for its supposedly beautiful finish - but while my kids are small I think I have to put a pin in the dream of a flawlessly elegant house because it's more important to me that they can happily fling themselves about when at home - so I was really glad to find a paint designed to withstand a bit of rough and tumble that can also look really good and on trend (not that we, or rocket stickers, are on trend at all...). We are happy with the results and when we have time to think about another room we plan to look at the range again. So yes, for the reasons above, I would recommend the product, especially to other parents / families.

welldonesquirrel · 11/10/2020 21:14

ahhh did my post and it never attached for some reason, will do again.
What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?
Liked it, easy to use and the colour was brighter than we thought it would be which suited us. the smell didnt linger for too long which was great also

  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?
powder blue. loved it more than i thought. though did find choosing the colour from the website hard to do and not something I would usually do. one coat was enough for the walls and we are very happy with the colour.
  1. Was the paint easy to apply?
Yes. We used a brush to do round the edges and then rolled the rest of it, no issues.
  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?
Yes, wiped away with no issues
  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?
Yes, because in a busy family home accidents can and do happen all the time so its great to know these can now be easily wiped away without ruining the paintwork

  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?
I liked it. It doesn’t have a strong smell and was easy to work with.
  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?
Toasted Almond. It’s a warm neutral light colour. It’s very nice.
  1. Was the paint easy to apply?
Yes. It went on smoothly with a roller and brush. Looks great with 2 coats.
  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?
I had to wipe toothpaste off the wall. No paint rubbed off and the toothpaste came off without staining.
  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?
Yes, it seems like a good quality paint that’s easy to apply. It’s practical for areas in the home that get marked regularly.
TheStormDark · 12/10/2020 08:12
  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?
It seems good quality, I love the colour and it went on nicely.
  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?
Rebel - I wanted the darkest colour available, it looks great after two coats.
  1. Was the paint easy to apply?
Yes, very easy. I used a roller and then a brush to cut in, all simple and fine, not drippy.
  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?
I haven't tried yet, I need to leave it the 7 days.
  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?
Yes, it is a really nice paint to use, I will be interested to see how the washable/durability is compared to the Dulux Easycare which I have in some of my other rooms.
alliwantforchristmasis · 12/10/2020 08:58

What did I think of Crown easyclean paint?
I thought it was good. It was quite thick which meant it didn't drop or spray when painting with it. Good coverage. The only way I could think of improving it was to make it a one coat paint but it was a great paint to use, will use again in other rooms when needed.
What colour did you test and what did you think of it?
I tested spotlight and thought that it was a good colour, it has a slight gray/purple tint to it. We painted the hall stairs and landing area so this made it still look clean and light much better than the original magnolia walls.
Was the paint easy to apply?
Yes it was, still needed two coats but it went on so easy it made the job easy.
Now that you have painted your walls, have you tried wiping the paint clean?
Yes, two days after painting DSS brought his bike through the house and caught the wall with his tyre but it wiped straight off, very happy.
Would you recommend this product? If yes, why?
I already have especially when I found out how much it cost, I thought it would be more expensive than it was. Friends popped round to drop something off whilst I was painting and I recommend it to them as they're decorating soon. As for why I have already said it went on easy, didn't splash so didn't have to clean dots off every surface that I didn't want the paint on,it covered a large area in one stroke.

confusedofengland · 12/10/2020 09:13
  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint? A good quality paint which does the job it said it would.
  2. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it? Smoked glass. It was a good subtle shade, just what we were after.
  3. Was the paint easy to apply? Yes
  4. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean? We tried a small patch. It wiped clean without fading, which is good.
  5. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why? Yes, because it is practical & useful. Would try to get it on offer though as £20 for 2.5l seems on the steep side.
SweetPeaPods · 12/10/2020 11:03
  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?
Really liked it. Usually use Dulux but really happy with it.
  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?
We tried granite dust, a lovely silvery grey, perfect for what we wanted.
  1. Was the paint easy to apply?
Definitely, needed 2 coats but easy to use by roller or paint brush.
  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?
Yes- chocolate fingers removed easily!
  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why
Yes- great price and good product.
CynthiaRothrock · 12/10/2020 11:58
  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint? Easy to go on with no odour which is always a bonus! Price is on the higher side that is the only down point.
  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it? Moonlight Bay. Quite a deceptive colour. Under the blue section, in one light it is a lovely light cornflower blue, under another light it is silver! The colour patch on the tin is not a good representation of the colour when dry.
  2. Was the paint easy to apply? Very, unfortunately I broke my roller just as I was setting up so did the whole wall with a brush, still very easy to apply.
  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean? Yes, cleans nice and easy and paint does not rub off. For a matt paint I was very impressed.
  2. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why? Easy to apply with no odour and wipes clean, what more could a parent ask for in a paint!
WhyIRayLiotta · 12/10/2020 12:31
  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?

I really like it. Husband did the actual painting, he said it was nice and thick, so didn’t splatter. It also dried quickly and we had the whole living room done (2 coats) in one weekend. It didn’t have the overwhelming smell some paints do, and it went on evenly with a nice uniform finish. Looks great!

  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?

I ordered Smoked Glass, which in hindsight is paler than I’d expected but that’s my fault. I’d use a tester pot in future. It has brightened up my living room.

  1. Was the paint easy to apply?
Yes. He used a roller and then a brush around the ceiling and doors. There were no visible brush strokes around the doors (which we’ve had with other paint!). The paint was thick, poured nicely into the roller tray and didn’t splatter badly during painting.
  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?

I have. We have a spot, coming in from the dining room where the two littlest ones (1yo and 2yo) toddle in and out always putting their hand on the wall for balance. About a hundred time’s a day! It was incredibly grubby. And I’d got into the habit of touching it up with another coat of paint when it was really bad! So, that wall was a darker colour than the rest of you looked closely enough! Anyway, I did wipe it several times, jammy fingers and chocolate wiped off with a damp cloth. There was not much residue left, and considering the pale colour of the paint - I was very impressed!

  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?
Yes I would. I am actually likely to buy it in a darker colour at some point, because I choose too light a shade from the choices. So I would use this product again. I’d recommend it to anyone with little kids and grubby hands.

  1. What did you think of Crown easyclean paint?

It was pretty much of the standard I'd expect from Crown. We did need 2 coats, but I'd have been surprised if we only needed 1!

  1. Which colour did you test and what did you think of it?

Sunrise - it was a nice shade, perfect for what we wanted in our hall to make it seem both brighter and warmer.

  1. Was the paint easy to apply?

Yes. We used rollers and it went on really easily.

  1. Now that you've painted your wall, have you tried wiping the paint clean?

Not yet as it hasn't got dirty....... yet!

  1. Would you recommend this product to others? If yes, why?

Yes - I trust the brand, love the colour and it was easy to apply.

Thank you!

SweetPeaPods · 19/10/2020 14:13

Sorry forgot to add- DH has just reminded me, we found the paint pot really difficult to get into. Dulux are much easier, they have a little recess but we struggled with the crown. Maybe just us!
