My review...not sure if it was here I need to write it but here goes!
We received our ice cream maker bath toy on Wednesday. There was lots of packaging to pull off but it all seemed straightforward to set up.
My 20 month old enjoyed seeing the jolly little penguin on it.
My 5 year old was just as happy as the younger one when it was bath time that evening.
The maker appeared to be stuck to the tiles really firmly.
We filled it according to the instructions and after a fair few yanks on the handle by the 5 year old beautiful thick foam emerged.
The 20 month old tried to pull the handle but it is pretty clunky so it was hard for her to get any foam out. After a short while the machine began to slip down every time the handle was used.
It seems like once the moisture of the bath gets behind the pads they become slippy.

The first fill up was the best, on subsequent nights the handle has not had as much movement and even though the same mixture was put in only light big bubbles have been coming out rather than the thick foam we first got.
The kids will no doubt use the little cones and the shaker with bubbles from the bath but I don’t think that the actual machine will be staying in the bathroom much longer. I think it is a shame that it does not work very well as the concept is great.
Thanks for the opportunity to test it out.

Mine has been signed for by somebody I have never heard of, with no house number and no card through the door. It may never arrive now! Gutted as was so pleased to be chosen! Confused

We are loving the Foam Cone Factory! I was worried he might try to eat the foam, but after trying once he realised it was soap and didn't try again! At first he fought me to do it all himself but now we take it in turns and I will either push the lever or hold the cone and he will do the other. He loves it so much that he doesn't want to get out the bath. It makes bath time so much more fun and my son gets into hysterics when I splat the foam ice-cream on his belly! We were going through a bit of a difficult patch where he wasn't enjoying bath time as much as he used to and the foam cone factory has really gotten him back into enjoying bath time. Thank you for sending us such a fun new toy Smile

I was really pleased about receiving this product but unfortunately after a few uses im not impressed!
the handle is very clunky and quite difficult to use for a 18 month old,it looks bright and exciting for kids but handle is far to stiff for small children to use,i dont feel that it is robust enough to last, i dont feel the suction caps are strong enough to keep it on the wall either, ours kept sliding off the wall.
on plus side we did get a few good foamy ice creams after a few tries!!
Thanks for opportunity to test this out.

It looks like the cone toy has come out first then. Our Octopals toy should arrive tomorrow, according to the DPD text I received.

@supermoon15 there will be a seperate thread to post reviews once everyone's received their toy and had chance to try it out.

I was very happy to receive the foam ice cream maker but we’ve had a few issues with it so had I bought it myself I wouldn’t be very happy with it overall.

As others have said the handle is hard to use. My 2 year old cant pull it down himself which seems to defeat the purpose of a bath toy, he should be able to use it himself. The sucker pads on the back don’t seem very strong so as soon as you pull the handle the whole thing slides down the tiles so is really hard to use and keep having to reattach it which is annoying.

I find you have to pull the handle down many, many times to get a good amount of foam in the cone.

My sons really like it so we will carry on using it (and were grateful to receive it) but overall I would say it has several design flaws and have found it hard to use.

Thanks SayOhhlala! I got a message today saying there is a thread going up soon. Good job for copy and paste!!
Hope the Octopals is more of a success for you than our cone factory 😬

Caillou · 28/08/2019 12:19

we have just received the octopals, my 2 years old is still sleeping so hasn't seen it yet, but his sisters (4 and 7) are excited about it already

LemonLadybird · 28/08/2019 14:29

Yay Octopals finally arrived! DD is due a bath this afternoon anyway as she's covered in yoghurt Grin Such a shame the coke factory wasn't that great!
