We’ve been asked by the team at Liz Earle to find 50 UK MNers to try out their Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser and Superskin™ Moisturiser with natural neroli.

Testers will be supplied with a Cleanse & Polish™ 100ml pump with 2 cotton cloths (£15.50 RRP) and a Superskin™ Moisturiser with natural neroli 50ml jar (£39.00 RRP) and asked to try them out at home and report back with feedback at least twice on a thread on MN (as well as add a review on MN).

Liz Earle say; “We’d love to hear what Mumsnetters think about one of the most-awarded cleansers in the UK and our hero Superskin™ Moisturiser. Our radiance-boosting Cleanse & Polish™ is a British beauty essential. It deeply cleanses to remove daily grime, pollutants and make up to reveal smoother, clearer and brighter-looking skin. It’s also the perfect preparation for the next step in your beauty routine. Our Superskin™ Moisturiser with natural neroli helps slow the ticking, naturally. It’s delicately scented with natural neroli and is rich in omega-3, GLA and antioxidants to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for radiantly youthful-looking skin.”

Are you starting to see changes in your skin and want to try and look after it better? We’re looking for MNers for this test who are ideally in their 30s or 40s and who love trying natural skincare products.

More info here: www.mumsnet.com/pdf/liz-earle-products.pdf

If you’d like to get involved and can add feedback as required, please sign up here and we’ll be in touch with selected testers soon.

All selected testers who try and feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the department store of their choice.

Thanks and good luck!

Initial feedback!

I was so excited to try this. I have had a couple of testers of Liz Earle in the past, but have not been able to afford to purchase the products. A change in our circumstances means that now I have a little more freedom to buy the products I want, rather than making do with the best I can get on a tight budget. I'm in my early thirties, normal skin with a tendency towards oil over t-zone. I get a lot of open pores, but don't often break out. I find moiturisers suitable for my skin type really hard to find; I've been struggling to find a natural skincare product designed for early signs of ageing for oily skin to no avail, so was really looking forward to trying out the moisturiser.

I liked the packaging and that the cleanser came in a zip-up bag with the cloths, this will be handy for hols next week. I also liked the enclosed instructions giving application tips. I wear full make up every day, so I tend to double cleanse using a clay-based wash off cleanser then a micellar water, but after cleansing and removing the cleanser with the muslin cloth my skin was really clean, even all my mascara was gone, so I didn't need to do the extra cleanse. I really liked the texture of the cleanser and the smell - I love clean, fresh scents like rosemary, tea tree etc.

I used my normal toner then applied the moisturiser. I liked the smell, the neroli smell was not too strong. Its quite a rich formula, so when I woke up this morning I could still feel the residue of it on my skin. I cleansed again and reapplied the moisturiser. I'm pleasantly surprised as I don't normally wear moisturiser under my make-up in case it slides off but actually it feels quite nice.

Just my initial thoughts, I shall post further musings as I use the products for longer.

I'm mid 40's, fairly normal skin with the odd breakout if I use too much cream on my chin area, nothing more. Noticing some aging but I do eat very clean and drink a lot of water, very slim so the lines show a bit more though. I wear makeup pretty much daily, but yesterday didn't so yet to comment on this aspect.

Packaging - I like the colour. The zip bag for the cleaners and cloths is practical and useful. I particularly like the pump action bottle, less waste of product.

I like the smell of the cleanser. It's very fresh. It's very different (but not necessarily better at this stage but not worse) than my Emma Hardie Moringa Balm. The texture is poles apart, the LE feels like a cleanser, the Emma Hardie like an oily balm. It rubs in well and cleansed my skin.

I was initially worried that the cloth was too 'rough' for my skin but it wasn't. My skin felt clean, fresh and not at all tight. So it's a big plus so far for the cleanser.

I was initially disappointed with the moisturiser and I didn't feel it was any different or special to bog standard stuff. I use Nuxe usually, and their creams smell amazing and feel truly soothing on the skin while sinking in brilliantly. And are good value for money compared to LE.

That being said, my skin felt smooth and fresh this morning and looks very 'glowy' today.

I've yet to use the cream under makeup, but will tomorrow, so can report further then.

One further thought was that, as the cream has no SPF, then you would need to use this in addition and then I DO think that, under makeup, that would be too much for my skin.

Those are just first thoughts though.

I tried updating yesterday but got the circle of doom. My package arrived looking very smart. I like the look of the products particularly the moisturiser. The wee bag for the cleanser is a nice touch.

I am late thirties with combination skin. I have very dry eyes and can be prone to open pores across my cheeks. Aging reasonably well but seeing signs round my eyes mostly.

I normally use Clinique 3-step as I worry about allergies having had reactions before. I normally use a face cloth to wash my face with just water then use the soap before rinsing with the face cloth again. Then I use the purple liquid stuff. While this works ok it is all a bit dull and I am never that convinced by the efficacy of the yellow moisturiser. So all in I am looking forward to a change.

My main concerns are whether it will remove my makeup properly and whether the moisturiser will work ok.

I shall use it tonight and update in the morning.

First thoughts here :)

I'm late 30s, fairly good skin, first fine lines, prone to dryness.

Cleanser:

Not wowed in any way by the muslin cloth so far - find it fiddly and not particularly comfortable to use. Things I learned recently: using a flimsy but slightly coarse pure white muslin to take off high coverage make up does not end that well.

The cleanser smells lovely and the texture is unusual but not unpleasant. Was concerned using around my eyes because of the slightly mentholated aroma but it was fine.

The pump dispenser is good and I like the packaging; enjoyed the process of applying the cleanser, however...

I found the cleanser + hot cloth to be fairly ineffective - I had to go through the process twice in the recommended manner in order to get all my make-up off properly, by which point my skin felt quite sensitised.

Definitely needed a toner afterwards (usually don't!) so used Temple Spa in the evening and micellar water in the morning after the cleanser. Very faff-heavy.

The moisturiser: again, like the packaging; made my skin feel smooth and plump however that could be in part due to the aforementioned sensitisation from the muslin! I found the smell to be super disappointing - it smells slightly old, like oil-based products that have been hanging around in the cupboard for a bit too long. Flax seed, methinks - definitely not a pleasure to apply scent-wise, although the texture was lovely and rich, and good for neck/décolleté. I had been hoping for it to smell fresher, more of essential oils; of the neroli, perhaps (expectations have been set high by Décleor products).

Will update in a few days :)

Passmethecrisps · 21/05/2017 19:34

I used this this evening after a clay mask.

The cleanser applicator is good and avoids waste. The smell is a bit menthol which made me a bit worried about using it near my eyes. Not convinced it will be ok to take my eye make-up off but I will try tomorrow.

Unlike others I like the smell of the moisturiser. It is very thick - more like a night cream really. It went on nicely and felt good. I will reserve judgement on what it is like under make-up.

Overall this is a good first impression. No make-up today though so the real test will be tomorrow

Firstly, thanks for letting me be involved in this trial!

I received my package on Friday, so put the products through their paces on Saturday evening (and will do so again tonight). Firstly, lovely packaging and beautiful crisp muslin face clothes (love the l'eau de Nile colour!).

The cleanser was super easy to apply, with minimal wastage. The cream is a lovely thick texture, the colour of pale clotted cream, and applies smoothly and evenly with no lumps and no greasy feel. The smell is just heavenly - really fresh and natural, it is so invigorating!

I ran one of the muslin clothes under hand-hot water and wrung out before using. The cloth has a nice, dense weave which meant that every sweep did effectively swipe the cream off my face in one go. No need for scrubbing or agitating my poor skin! The cream rinsed off the cloth really easily under warm water, so the cleansing process was super quick. My skin felt sparkling after cleansing and just wonderfully fresh, it felt like such a treat! Grin

Onto the moisturiser... first thoughts, packaging was beautiful and felt really 'high end' and a premium product. The texture is lovely - not watery, but not as thick as the cleanser - nice soft peaks and it didn't feel greasy to the touch.

However, like a previous poster, the scent was a little overpowering at first use! Very 'herbal' of borage and very strong. Confused That said, the cream did apply very easily (a little goes a long way) and sank in brilliantly. My skin felt revitalised and fresh, with no dry or greasy patches when I woke up.

Looking forward to seeing how my skin fares over the next few days under the new Liz Earle regime! Smile

I received my products on Friday, so am giving my initial feedback after a few days use.

Cleanser
I've used Cleanse & Polish before and generally love this type of cleanser. I've moved more to cleansers with a balm to oil texture and it was nice to go back to the Liz Earle. I love the smell first of all, it smells very pure to me (the eucalyptus?). The texture is different from what I remember, in a good way. I felt like the product had more 'slip' than what I can remember, it is easy to massage in and move around.

I love the muslins, that little bit of exfoliation when removing the product makes such a difference. I find my skin looks plumped and glowing after cleansing.

moisruriser
I have been neglecting my skin in terms of moisturiser for too long so it was nice to start afresh. I am early to mid thirties and still get hormonal acne on my chin and nose but my skin can be dehydrated elsewhere. I suspected the product may be too rich around my problematic areas and was right (I have developed a few spots around my nose).

It has really helped to hydrate my cheeks and forehead though, and the product makes my skin look nice and refined when applied and this seems to last. I think it would be too heavy for daytime use for me especially in Summer. It takes a while to sink in and would be more of a night cream for me.

I really want to order the Instant Boost Skin tonic now, I love that stuff Smile

I seriously can't believe I missed out on this opportunity 😢
