What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?
We were a date night (due to lack of kids!)

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Amazingly easy. It was fast, intuitive – I’ve used other ordering sites before and this seemed faster, clearer and simpler. Not every restaurant showed charges on their icons, that was possibly the only niggle with the site. Payments seemed easy and intuitive. Driver charges clearly shown. Menus clear and sensibly laid out.

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?

Almost too fast! We ordered from two local places and staggered order times in the hope of delivery around the same time so we could eat together. One order (that had given a waiting time of forty minutes arrived in 20!). To be fair we were being annoying by ordering from two places, no fault of the app/service.

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?

Definitely – good choice of restaurants (though a bit burger place heavy where I live ). Charges clearly laid out and min spend not much more than ordering from a cheapy burger/kebab place. The cyclists I see out always look well presented in smart uniforms and the delivery people I interacted with for this test were friendly and professional.

What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?

We used it for a family night. We had had a busy day of parties (childrens, obviously!), and so we were really keen to have some lovely food delivered! We ordered from a restaurant that we've been to before, and collected take out food from before. We usually have to go and collect, which, given the location of the restaurant it is tricky as it is a city centre location.

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
Very easy.

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?
We ordered at 5.45pm and our food was delivered at 6.30pm. The website it would be delivered at 6.28 so it was very accurate!

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?
Yes, I already have. Friend used it the following day.

Thanks Mumsnet, we enjoyed the market research very much!

Third time lucky (previously posted about two non starters!). Family night for ds's birthday.

decided to order in the morning for this evening which was easy to do. Liked that the screen showed what we had ordered and the total as we went along and it was easy to change our mind as we went.

Food arrived on time. I hadn't added a tip and had it ready to hand over but the guy was off before I could hand it over.

Yes we would use again if we wanted something a bit different and would recommend to others but round here its best to book ahead.

-What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?

Date night once baby was in bed.

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Tried ordering for ASAP at 8pm on Wednesday only to be met with an error message saying "Sorry! No restaurants can deliver to * from tomorrow. Please try again later". (Which doesn't really make much sense...) I kept trying and after half an hour or so it worked, but it meant waiting much longer that we'd have liked. Otherwise, the site was very easy to navigate and it was simple enough to place an order.

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?

As mentioned above we had to wait a while just to order and then when we were due to receive it I got a text message saying "We're very sorry, your Deliveroo order may be delayed by 5-10 minutes. We will do everything we can to get it to you quickly." So, it was good that they kept us updated, but again, even if longer to wait.

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?

If they were looking for a higher quality, restaurant standard meal I would recommend deliveroo as the choice of restaurants is great.... and the meal was delicious!

However, having to wait such a long time when you're hungry is not ideal!

-What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?

We had a date night after the children were in bed.

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Totally easy, I typed in the postcode and it gave a list of all the available restaurants and an approximate time for delivery.

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?

Really fast, the delivery was 15 minutes early which was absolutely fine. It was great to see live updates online too, when the order was prepared, when it left the restaurant etc.

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?

Definitely, it gave us an opportunity to try a restaurant that we probably wouldn't have gone to with the children or perhaps even known about. The driver was really friendly and happy to let us know that new restaurants were signing up to cover more areas near us and to email customer services if we had any recommendations.

LadyHonoriaDedlock · 22/07/2016 17:03

They picked me by mistake apparently, as they don't deliver to my postcode! Seems odd, as I'm 15 mins from their HQ (cycle park where the delivery cyclists all hang out) by bike. Oh well. It sounds good. (Only leaving feedback because I'm scared of never getting picked again if I don't.)

-What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?
We used Deliveroo to order in food for a date night for my husband and I, while our 7 month old was in bed! We watched a film and had a lovely, baby-free couple of hours! We ordered from a place we had had our eye on for a while, and were keen to use Deliveroo to try them out.

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
Very easy. Once you've put your postcode in, the website shows you the restaurants available for you to order from and it is extremely simple to add items to/remove items from your order. Submitting your choices is very easy too. All in all, there is not much to get confused by!

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?
Very quick. I'm not sure whether this was because we ordered on a Wednesday night, but our food arrived before the time we were given (not inconveniently so). However, unfortunately most of the food wasn't particularly hot. I'm not sure if this is the fault of the restaurant or Deliveroo. The majority of the food was passable but the sweet potato chips were stone cold! This was a shame but I'm not sure if it is just one of those unfortunate things.

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?
I would! I have always liked the fact they use bikes and my experience with them so far has been great. Really pleased with our food and the service provided.

Thanks for picking us!

-What did you use Deliveroo for?
A date night. My DH and I hadn't seen each other much that week so it was a nice excuse for a special night in. We also have 3 children under 5 so going out to a restaurant together is v rare!

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
Really easy. It was simple to sign up and the website was really easy to navigate. I noticed there was a wide range of restaurants to choose from- independents as well as chains. We really fancied Waggamamas as we'd not been for ages and I wanted to try out their new menu. Choosing from the menu was easy and the whole menu was available.

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?
It wasn't quick (1 hr) but this was a Saturday night. The delivery time was clear on the website, so we just made sure we were organised and ordered during bath time! They delivered on time (by pedal bike). The only disappointment was that our side dishes were slightly cold. Although the mains were hot so we didn't really mind. Napkins and chopsticks included!

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?
Definitely. Being able to order something different from the usual type of takeaway felt quite special. There's such a wide selection of restaurants to choose from I think it would suit anyone. We will definitely order through Deliveroo again too.

Thank you Deliveroo!

What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?

Date night. I'm very pregnant and not really in the mood for nights out so it was lovely to have a restaurant meal in the comfort of home.

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Couldn't be simpler, we were very impressed with the large choice of restaurants to choose from in our area.
The website was simple and easy to use.

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?

10/10, If I could give a higher score I would!
We were given a delivery time of 40 minutes, it came in 25!

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?

I would highly recommend Deliveroo as a service to use, I shall definitely use them from now on. I would be more mindful of the choice of restaurant and type of food we order though.
We chose Carluccios, the food arrived piping hot (thanks to deliveroo) but the food itself was a bit hit and miss.
DH's starter of squid with lemon Mayo was poorly packaged and soggy, as was his chicken saltimbocca.
I ordered the starter of prawn marinara, which was beautifully flavoured but the toasted focaccia had been packaged with the prawns so had gone completely soggy.
My main of pappardelle con pollo was tasteless, under seasoned and overcooked.
I will stress again the food was no reflection on deliveroo's service, which was flawless so we will use them again but will try sushi instead.

What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?

We used Deliveroo for a family night, in fact it was my birthday ! (Thanks for the lovely treat) Smile

How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

I used the link and had a few troubles. The page froze a few times and I had to redo my order a couple of times. But, I think in future I would download the app.

How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?

Really pleasantly surprised ! The average waiting time seems to be 40 mins to an hour for takeaways around here. Deliveroo were much quicker than I anticipated. The doorbell rang and we got a surprise to see the food was here so quickly !

Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?

Yes. In fact I did yesterday to my neighbours. We were talking about how many good local restaurants you could order from.
Our driver was lovely too. Really pleasant.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 27/07/2016 14:29

What did you use Deliveroo for?
I used it as a treat for me after a really busy end-of-term, as it is hard to go out as a single parent.

How easy was it to use?
It was pretty straight-forward, but the distance within which they deliver isn't obvious anywhere: I was after a specific local restaurant I know uses Deliveroo but it took calls both to them and to the Deliveroo helpline the establish the very small distance within which they deliver (2.2 km, I think). The helpline was answered promptly, even at about 2045, and was helpful, as was the restaurant.

How would you rate the speed of the service?
The time it told me initially and the time it said after the acceptance were different but it arrived within the initially quoted time of 34 minutes. I was very impressed. The delivery driver was pleasant, too, and didn't hammer on the door, which I appreciated with sleeping Children.

Would you recommend Deliveroo to a frind?
Some of the restaurants that use it already do delivery and I would order directly from them, due to the charge, but it does included restaurants that previously didn't deliver and I would definitely use it for that. It has already come-up in conversations with friends and I actually suggested it a while ago when friends were after a restaurant quality meal at home. I have been checking to see if they had reached my postcode for a while! The food was perfectly cooked and arrived very hot: one of my sides was missing but I discovered that quite late on and took the decision not to chase it, as I was already quite full ...

We finally did this!

We were booked for a date night, but I went and gave birth prematurely so welcome being allowed to use the voucher to give us a break after arriving home. Thank you.

The website was easy to use. My only complaint would be that you can't see what restaurants cover your area unless they are open when you go on. So DP and I couldn't plan in the morning what we might have later. The actual buying process was very quick though,

The food arrived very quickly.

I would recommend Deliveroo. There is a greater choice of food than you would find in most places. A Deliveroo voucher would be a great present for someone who, has, for example, just given birth. I also liked the original plan of having a meal at home for a "date night" when heavily, pregnant.

-What did you use Deliveroo for – a date night or a family night?
We used it for an Italian themed date night :)

-How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
It was easy peasy- so straightforward. I was pleasantly surprised.

-How would you rate the speed of the Deliveroo service?
It was good- no longer than ordering from Domino's for example, definitely a reasonable amount of time.

-Would you recommend Deliveroo to a friend?
I would definitely recommend. It's easy to use, convenient, straightforward and great for satisfying a craving for something a bit different!
