This is the feedback thread for the 250 Mumsnetters who have been trying out Anchor butter and the baking kits with their children. Non testers - do check out the feedback from the testers PLUS what's your favourite flavour cake? Chocolate, Victoria Sponge, Carrot, something else? Add your comment to this thread and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 voucher to spend in John Lewis (imagine all the baking kit you could get!)

Here's what Anchor says: “We're looking forward to seeing what MNers have created with our rich and creamy block butter. We know it's perfect for all types of tasty bakes, whether it's making the pastry for your homemade chicken pie, or millionaires shortbread for that weekend treat with the kids. At Anchor we've been making block butter for over 125 years, to bring bakers high quality, rich and creamy butter for their bakes."

Plenty of recipe ideas here – including delicious
ginger biscuits or does anyone fancy
Cheese Scones for a snack?

Below are the questions we'd like testers to answer, but please feel free to add your own comments too.

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!

  2. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!

  3. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?

  4. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.

  5. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?

  6. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?

  7. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?

  8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?

All testers who leaves their feedback on this thread and who complete the survey (emailed to testers) will be entered in to a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnet tester will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I love a Victoria sponge where you can taste it has butter in it and lashings of cream and jam.

1) What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!

We made flourless chocolate pear cake and gingerbread cookies

2) What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!

My children are only 2 and 4 so they enjoyed watching for a bit, stirring, but most importantly trying to eat the ingredients whilst we were cooking!

3) What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?

Fun activity to involve kids which we both enjoy and produced a treat at the end!

4) If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.

Usually use soy spread. Think whole family would think butter tastes better. I haven't eaten butter myself for a long time due to allergy!

6) Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?

Normally use soya margarine. If baking, would use unsalted as that is usually what recipes for cakes require.

7) Were you pleased with the results of your baking?

Very - both turned out well, especially cake (first time my husband made it)

8) Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?

No, because of my allergy primarily. I am aware of Anchor having been around for a while, not 125 years though. It's not that important one way or another, other than tells you it must be popular.

9) If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?

Not sure how it would ever come up in conversation. Other than if I wanted to make sure someone bought a known brand of butter or asked to recommend a butter I knew of, would mention Anchor.

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!

Me and DS2 decided we'd not had enough chocolate this Easter (!) and went for the brownies on the anchor site - I know they are guaranteed to go down well and we used some leftover eggs

  1. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!

I think he just liked spending time just that two of us as DS1 was out for the day. He also loves breaking eggs and being given responsibility for stuff like tipping in ingredients and stirring.

  1. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?

It's the only 'messy play' I enjoy as the results can be shared with everyone! I think it's a great way to get kids to have fun in the kitchen and used to the idea of following a recipe etc.

  1. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.

I usually use stork - I think it very much depends what you're making. I think in something like a simple Victoria sponge you can maybe taste the difference but in a recipe with a pound of sugar and cocoa the subtlety rather gets lost!

  1. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?

As above. I don't usually buy unsalted butter as I use block butter for other dishes and prefer salted - we don't eat much processed food usually and I don't think a bit of salt in butter hurts us and it tastes better.

  1. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?

Well my oven is playing up a bit so I had to add to the cooking time but the brownies were very nice if a wee bit overdone at the edges.

  1. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?

Maybe, if it was something where I thought you could taste the difference. Otherwise I think it's quite expensive compared to other cooking fats. The heritage doesn't really matter to me, I'm more concerned by eating local food and a reasonable price.

  1. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?

I think it's a good quality product but I don't know if it's any better than a supermarket own brand. Sorry! Thanks for the kit though, DS2 loved his apron and special spoon.

Thank you for sending us the kit - we had so much fun.

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!
We made gingerbread biscuits topped with Smarties.

  2. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!
My daughter definitely licked getting her fingers all messy and licking the bowl at the end.

  3. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?
I loved spending time with my daughter and seeing the joy she had creating the biscuits. I also liked that we could share the biscuits out at the end with the whole family.

  4. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.
I don't think they tasted different and they certainly tasted great.

  5. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?
We usually use butter and I opt for the unsalted version.

  6. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?
Very pleased - they tasted scrumptious! The whole family loved them.

  7. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?
Yes I would use Anchor again but next time, I am baking, I would leave it out of the fridge for longer as it was quite hard to work with at first. I was not aware that Anchor made block butter - I thought they only made butter spreads.

  8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?
Yes I would recommend - it tasted great.

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!

So far we have made biscuits and scones.

  1. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!

DD loved messing with the scone dough, getting sticky and eating the biscuit dough.

  1. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?

It's a fun activity to do together

  1. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.

I didn't really notice any difference, it is a nice creamy butter but not really any better or worse than others I've used.

  1. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?

I generally use unsalted butter for baking, salted butter for cooking. Unless I'm cooking for someone with dairy allergy (fairly often) and use dairy free spread.

  1. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?

Very pleased. The scones were light and fluffy and the biscuits delicious.

  1. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?

I probably would. It was tasty and creamy. I did enjoy it in the general cooking I did. I didn't know that Anchor was the original and to be honest I don't really care!

  1. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?

Possibly, it is a nice butter and we did enjoy it.

Thanks for letting us test this, DD loved her baking set and really enjoyed baking with me :)

ILoveWoollyStuff · 18/04/2015 20:08
  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? DD2 (3) and I made "clown cakes" yesterday at her insistence. I wasn't quite sure what she wanted but she seemed quite pleased with the result. DD2 and I often make scones for our lunch on Friday when we have the day together, she's great at rubbing in the butter.

As this was aimed at DD1 (7), we all made chocolate tray bake this evening.

  1. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!
I asked both of them. DD1 enjoyed licking the bowl and doing the mixing up and DD2 enjoyed putting the (baking) powder in. (She also made light work of today's chocolatey spoon!)

  2. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?
I enjoyed spending some time with them both doing something that I enjoy too. I also like to watch them working together and negotiating the jobs.

  3. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.
I do think the butter tasted creamier.

  4. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?
I confess I either use the cheapest unsalted butter there is, or margarine for baking. I always find cakes are a bit heavier when I use butter and require the electric mixer (which means DDs can't join in with the best bit!). I use butter for scones because I don't have to remember to get it out of the fridge in advance and our baking sessions are usually impromptu.

  5. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?
We certainly enjoyed the cakes DD2 made yesterday. The chocolate tray bake hasn't been iced yet. (DDs preferred to make the most of the (rare occurrence of) sunshine today, so we had our baking session just before bed).

  6. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?
I wasn't aware of Anchor's history. I'm not sure I would make a special trip just to get it for baking (they don't sell it in our regular supermarket). I might use it again where the taste is really important - perhaps butter cookies or shortbread, or if I were making a treat to give as a gift.

  7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?
If it came up I might mention that I tested it but I'm not sure my recommendation would sway the purchase.

Thanks for the chance to test this. DDs loved having their own lightweight decent sized bowl (I usually have to risk my pyrex!)

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!
We made flapjacks - plain, raisin and apricot & raisin

  2. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!
Patting the flapjack into the tins

  3. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?
I like baking with the boys as it gives us a time to chat, and also seeing their enjoyment as they create something.

  4. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.
I would usually only use Anchor when it is on offer. The flapjack was particularly good, however whether this was the anchor or just a good recipe (never added honey before for example) I'm not sure.

  5. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?
I tend to use butter for baking if I am doing something special. If just making a quick batch of cakes with the boys we would use Clover as would have it in the fridge. Never used unsalted butter to bake unless a recipe specifically requested it.

  6. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?
Very. Boys are rapidly eating the results.

  7. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?
I would be tempted to try Anchor again and redo a 'regular' recipe. I had no idea Anchor was that old. Not really important.

  8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?
Possibly if they were looking to move to a branded product, because it tastes lovely on toast!

    chocolate chip cookies

  2. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!

enthusiasm had for cooking, listening and talking

  4. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.
Have always used Anchor block butter have tried other brands including Anchor spreadable and taste don't compare

  5. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?
Always use salted butter as tend to forget about buying unsalted and wasn't aware

  6. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?
Yes DS done well and they tasted lovely

  7. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?
I will always use Anchor its the one item that is on my shopping list that is of branded name, nothing beats toast with slab of Anchor butter melting on it. Was aware of how old company was as we always had anchor butter growing up but its not important

  8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?
Yes when its on offer so can stock up

Now I just need a red Anchor butter dish to match my kitchen to keep my butter inSmile

  1. We made a rhubarb bakewell tart.

  2. My DS's favourite part of the process was the picking of the rhubarb, hat he got to use my hand mixer on his own (ie without me holding it too), and of course, the licking of all the bowls.

  3. I love baking, either on my own, or with DC. They have fun which makes me happy, plus we get cake at the end.

    1. I'd usually use unsalted butter for baking, but not Anchor. I'd use Lidl's or Aldi ' s English or British butter, at about 98p, so cheaper than Anchor and also supporting a struggling industry. I could not taste the difference when using Anchor. NB the only time I don't use butter for baking is in bake sales, when I am asked to bake something for school, that is then sold at a ridiculous 20p per cake -wway less than the cost to make. So then if use cheap marge, and bung a smartie or some sprinkles on top of a little cake.
  4. I was very pleased with the results of our baking - as was DS!

    1. Tbh, I'd only use Anchor again for baking of it was on offer or it was all I could buy. I tend to buy British butter, and don't really think that it's worth paying more for a branded basic. I don't really care that Anchor has been making butter for 125 years - it's not that hard. I'd probably say the same if it came up in convo too. But I'd also say that it tasted lovely.

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!

We made Galletas de Queso - Cheesy biscuits. They are really quick, simple and involve just enough technique for the kids to keep interested.

100g of cheese - hard is best but any type works or a mixture of whatever you have left over in the fridge.
100g of plain flour - sifted.
100g of butter - I grate mine so it can be mixed in easily.
a teaspoon of mustard powder
a teaspoon of cayenne pepper

  1. Sift the flour and powders together
  2. Grate the cheese and add to the mixture
  3. Grate the butter and add to the mixture
  4. Stir with a spoon until it comes together
  5. Draw together into a dough with your hands
  6. Turn out onto the surface and roll into a sausage
  7. Cut into equal chunks
  8. Place on a baking tray
  9. Put into a preheated oven of 180 for 12-15 minutes
10. Enjoy!

You can add chopped nuts to the tops of the biscuits if you want to add another texture. Pistachios and walnuts work really well.

  1. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!

Grating the cheese and eating that! I also freeze the butter and get her to grate that too. We enjoyed serving them to the family afterwards. She gets a real kick out of others enjoying her food. I love seeing her skills develop in the kitchen.

  1. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?

Spending time with them. Also seeing them learn. I like knowing that she is able to look after herself. Pushing her tastes is great. She has tried lots of new things based on her preparing them. Cooking is great for fussy eaters.

  1. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.

I use whatever is on offer - I cannot discern a difference in taste in the cooked product. I can taste the difference on toast etc.

  1. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?

I use spread, butter, oil or whatever the recipe calls for. We try to use unsalted butter if it is preferable but sometimes that salt changes the flavour so we keep with salted if needed

  1. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?

They were eaten in 20 minutes so yes a resounding success from us. :)

  1. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?

Yes. We use it already and will continue to do so.

  1. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?

Yes. I like the brand and the flavour.

confusedofengland · 19/04/2015 11:06

Tester here! I was lucky enough to receive a pack, which I tested with DS1 (6) & DS2 (4). We were very excited to receive the parcel, especially DS1 who promptly claimed it as his own baking kit Grin

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session! We made a few different things, including pastry which was turned into quiche & jam tarts & banana cakes. Here are a couple of photos of the end results:

  2. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between! Both DSes enjoy cracking the eggs (from our chickens Smile) & licking the bowls. DS2 also particularly enjoys tipping the ingredients into the mixer & DS1 likes to be in charge of weighing.

  3. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC? I like the quality time spent with just the 2 biggest DSes & also the proud looks on their faces when they see what they've created.

  4. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain. I normally use spreads rather than real butter & I think Anchor makes things creamier.

  5. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking? I usually use salted spreads. I hadn't really thought of unsalted being better.

  6. Were you pleased with the results of your baking? We were very pleased & it all disappeared quickly Grin

  7. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you? I would use it again, particularly if it was on special offer. A good longstanding reputation is always nice.

  8. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why? I would recommend it as you can really taste a difference.

  1. We made lemon and raspberry muffins (pictured) and soft buttery flapjacks which were eaten before I had chance to take a photo!
  1. Licking the bowl at the end of course! But she also enjoyed weighing out the ingredients, grating and squeezing the lemon and combining the ingredients in her smart new red bowl.
  1. I love baking with DD. I get to share one of my favourite pastimes with her and a tasty treat at the end.
  1. If I'm honest I couldn't really tell the difference between Anchor and Waitrose own brand butter which we normally use. No complaints though and I'd use it again if it was on offer.
  1. I nearly always use butter for baking. I don't like the taste of margarine. I use salted butter. When DD was a baby we used unsalted butter for everything as I was worried about her salt intake but I wasn't that keen.
  1. Yes, very pleased!
  1. I'd use it again if it was on offer. I wasn't aware of it's history but this isn't particularly important for me. And I'm planning on trying the spreadable version in my quest to find the perfect spreadable butter!
  1. Probably not. I can't say I've ever had a conversation about brands of butter though!

We baked some plain fairy cakes with buttercream and sprinkles on the top.

  1. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between! Enjoy getting messy, but mostly licking the bowl and eating the finished product. Loved the little red bowl, perfect child size, but the spoon was too bendy to mix cake mixture.
  2. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC? Spending time together.
  3. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain. I usually use own brand butter. I don't think Anchor tastes different to my normal butter.
  4. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking? Usually use Stork for baking, but real butter for buttercream. Usually use salted as prefer the taste. I am aware unsalted is meant to be better for baking, but never have problems. Also many recipes state unsalted butter, and a pinch of salt!
  5. Were you pleased with the results of your baking? Yes, tastes good!
  6. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you? Would use again if price was competitive if. It was on offer. I knew Anchor has been around a long time, but not how long.Makes no difference.
  7. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why? I would, but not necessarily above any other.

Thanks for picking me to test out anchor butter! We were very excited when the kids baking set arrived!

  1. What bakes did you and your DC create? Please post a photo or two on the thread of the finished result or of the baking session!

We decided to make the brownies from the anchor website because we love brownies & had lots of Easter chocolate left over!

  1. What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process? Getting messy, licking the bowl at the end or anything in between!

Definitely licking the bowl!!

  1. What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?

Spending quality time with her. I've got a 4 week old baby so am trying to make time to spend with my 5 year old. I love baking with her. It's practical & creative & we have lots of fun getting messy!

  1. If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter? Please explain.

Lovely creamy buttery taste. I would definitely choose anchor again.

  1. Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?

Normally use own brand butter or whatevers in the fridge. Don't usually buy salted butter anyway.

  1. Were you pleased with the results of your baking?
We were very pleased! Really tasty brownies!!

  2. Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?
Yes I would definitely. It was creamy & easy to use at room temperature. I liked the measurements on the wrapper. And the cakes tasted fab!
I didn't realise they'd been around so long, makes me think they are a good brand if they have such a long history.

  3. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?
Yes, I would. We were impressed with the cakes & they taste great.

My son and I made a coconut and lime cake, something fresh and light after the chocolatey madness of Easter!

My sons favourite part was weighing out all the ingredients and doing the mixing.

My favourite part was spending time doing something we both enjoy together whilst his baby brother had a nap. No distractions, no 'in a minute' just us.

I use anchor for toast etc but not usually for baking, for that I use supermarket own brand. The cake was delicious and moist and stayed moist for the following 2 days whereas I normally find they dry out after the first day.

I always use butter for baking, never margarine. I prefer salted butter as I find it brings out flavour in whatever I'm baking.

We were really pleased with the cake, it was delicious and the whole family enjoyed it.

Yes I would use anchor block butter again, I don't like to sacrifice taste for the sake of a few pence, hence I would never use margarine in my baking. I knew it had been around a long time but not for 125 years. It has a good reputation and I think of it as a brand leader.

Yes I would recommend it to family and friends but I know they would be concerned about using a full fat product.

1) What bakes did you and your DC create?
DD made a chocolate sponge- it's her favourite thing to bake and they always come out very tasty.

2) What was your child’s favourite aspect of the baking process?
Licking the bowl is a big part of baking. DD likes the sense of achievement from creating something delicious independently (apart from the oven bit). We all like to eat the finished product.

3) What was your favourite aspect of baking with your DC?
It's a nice way to spend quality time together as well as sharing life skills.

4) If you don't normally use Anchor, do you think that your bakes taste different when using Anchor butter compared to your normal butter?
I didn't expect to say it, but yes, butter is definitely tastier.

6) Do you normally use butter or margarine for baking? Do you usually use unsalted or salted butter for baking? How aware were you that using unsalted butter is great for baking?
I'm normally a bit cheap and unless a recipe really needs butter, I use cheaper alternatives like Stork. But not any more! Butter is best. I would go for unsalted usually.

7) Were you pleased with the results of your baking?
DD was very pleased and we all enjoyed it.

8) Would you use Anchor butter again for your baking? Why? Were you aware Anchor was the original block butter company having made butter for over 125 years? Is this important to you?
Yes I would, Anchor is a quality brand. I may use cheaper alternatives as well though.

9) If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Anchor butter to friends and family? Why?
Yes, it's good quality, a trusted brand and gives great results. The kits for school are a good incentive too, especially if you are lucky enough to be receiving them.

Thanks so much for including us, pics will follow later.

One question- how did the schools get involved? I hadn't heard of the kits for schools until I saw them on Mumsnet, I tried to register when I heard about the packs but it was already closed.

Non tester here!

My favourite cake is of course a lemon drizzle cake! I know it has a mixed reputation on mumsnet but I still believe it's the queen of cakes!

Non tester with a love of chocolate cake!

Although at the moment I'm quite partial to a chocolate, banana and walnut cake. It has four bananas in it so I can kid myself that a quarter of cake is one of my five a day ...
