LG is delighted to invite 25 Mumsnetters to try out the new LG KizON with their DCs.

Here’s what LG say, “We would be delighted to have you test our latest wearable device, the LG KizON, designed for children and made for parents. The LG KizON is a wearable designed exclusively for pre-school and primary school children that gives you a simple and convenient way to communicate with your youngsters.

The LG KizON has been designed specifically for children to wear on their wrists to be used as a direct communication device with their parents and guardians. Sharing information and call access with a limited number of adults - approved by you - the LG KizON offers ease of mind by delivering real-time information of a wearer’s location and giving your children the ability to securely communicate with you via just a press of a button.

With its GPS capability, durable child-friendly design, easy-to-use functionality and a long lasting battery, the LG KizON offers an unobtrusive and secure way for your family to check in on your child’s location, call them back home for dinner or even just call to say hello, giving you peace of mind and giving them greater freedom and independence while they play.

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child age 3-9 and has an Android phone with the software Jellybean 4.1 or above. Everyone who is selected to take part will receive a free LG KizON, supplied with phone credit to last the duration of the three and a half week trial period lasting 25th March – 13th April . To get started, testers will just need to download the LG KizON app from the Google Play Store in order to register themselves with their child’s device.

Upon receiving the device, testers will be provided with clear set up instructions, a guide on how to get the most from the product and have access to product experts should they have any further questions. Testers will be required to post their feedback via the trial survey by 10th April and then directly on a Mumsnet feedback thread by 13th April. Testers will be welcome to keep their LG KizON as a thank you for taking the time to share their invaluable feedback.

If you’re interested in trying the latest in children’s technology with the LG KizON, please sign up here. Entrants must apply by 5pm Tuesday 24th March and testers will be contacted on Wednesday 25th March.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

dickinson13 · 20/03/2015 17:43

Just signed up! Hope we get chosen as it sounds really good.

ArkadyRose · 20/03/2015 18:26

I've just signed up - my 7-year-old has ASD and has had a load of insecurity and emotional issues recently at school and I think something like this would really help her. Really hope we get picked because we've been running out of ideas about how to help reassure her when something crops up at school.

Theas18 · 20/03/2015 20:41

Please please LG release this in a model that is not in kiddie colours that is suitable for the elderly.

Not all old people can cope with even a big button phone. One where " press this button to call your daughter " was all it did would be marvellous.

OddBoots · 20/03/2015 21:24

The cnet review says " It's aimed at very young children -- the ones too young to have smart phones, but might be attending kindergarten." so I guess 3-9yo.

I now have visions of children at nursery phoning Mummy when they don't like what is offered for snack.

Monica101 · 21/03/2015 07:40

I have an iPhone so can't apply. It sounds interesting however as a mother of a three year old I can't invisige how I would use it. She is always no further than a room away but usually within sight.
For an older child it sounds quite useful.

AliceAnneB · 21/03/2015 09:29

I can see this being useful at museums in London for our three year old and seven year old. It looks quite big though?

benfoldsfive · 21/03/2015 11:42

signed up this would be awesome for.My son who is on the autistic spectrum and sometimes wanders off and hides!

LuckyBluie · 21/03/2015 13:45

Signed up. My son would have such fun with this over the Easter holidays! Smile

Purpleflamingos · 21/03/2015 18:23

I wish this worked with Iphones! My ds misses me in the day. I could give him a quick buzz at playtime and lunch to let him know I'm thinking of him. I could start to give him more independence too (like posting a letter at the postbox round the corner).

Rachel0009 · 21/03/2015 21:11

I have 6yr autistic child the family fund gave him an ipad dropped in to a water

many thanks

TinyTear · 23/03/2015 07:45

Seems a bit much for my 3yo, but would consider if she was older...

tomshaw1982 · 23/03/2015 10:05

Can this device not be used with iPhone's?

tomshaw1982 · 23/03/2015 10:06

Could you not make a claim on your Home Contents Insurance for Accidental Damage?

asuwere · 23/03/2015 16:46

MichelleMumsnet I signed up but put the wrong operating system for my phone - can it be changed? Having checked, it is actually Jellybean 4.1 Thanks :)
Fingers crossed, I think this sounds good for my 8yr old but I'm sure my 6 and 5 yr olds would try it too :)

Antiopa12 · 24/03/2015 09:39

Very interested in this for my older severely disabled son

glenthebattleostrich · 24/03/2015 09:40

My almost 5 year old would love this. She's desperate to play in the street with her friends but I'm still unsure about her being g ok

CherryAmes · 24/03/2015 16:55

Just in time, I hope! We didn't have an android phone until today, really could do with something like this Smile

kungfupidge · 24/03/2015 17:29
