We're looking for 100 Mumsnetters to try Whole Earth peanut butter with their DCs.

Here's what Whole Earth has to say, "Mums buy Whole Earth peanut butter because they know it's naturally delicious. Made with 97% peanuts, no added sugar and loaded with energy Mums know that choosing Whole Earth peanut butter is a great way to fuel their families throughout the day. It is also a perfect ingredient for baking crunchy peanut butter cookies - a delicious after school treat."

Selected testers will be sent one jar of Whole Earth Crunchy Original peanut butter for their family to try. We'd also like testers to create some tasty peanut butter recipes, such as peanut butter cookies, satay sauce or your own recipe and upload photos of these creations to the feedback thread.

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters who have at least one child living at home.

Everyone who takes part in the product test and adds their feedback will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 voucher for a supermarket of their choosing.

If you'd like to take part then please sign up here.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Oh yes - could murder some PB right now. And if it's free it's calorie free!

Done!

FeijoaVodkaLovesHokeyPokey · 04/09/2013 10:39

Stop using Palm oil in your peanut butter Whole Earth and I will start eating it again.

Fraxinus · 04/09/2013 14:27

Feijoa and unicorn and cat fro Japan. Any chance you could share why you don't agree with palm oil on here? Thanks

Runswithsquirrels · 04/09/2013 16:13

I can already tell you this is the best peanut butter - not so sweet!

ArkadyRose · 04/09/2013 20:22

Fraxinus Google is your friend.

RubyGoat · 04/09/2013 21:04

there is a 100% peanut butter available. Google 'pure peanut butter'.

BikeRunSki · 04/09/2013 21:23

Suma and Meridian both makes peanut butter out of just peanuts. One or both of them are usually available in health food shops.

Fraxinus · 04/09/2013 21:28

Google might give me the answers, but surely it would be better if all the peanut butter fans on mn had the palm oil issue highlighted to them on this thread?

MichelleMumsnet · 05/09/2013 14:11

Hi everyone, there's been a bit of discussion around palm oil being included in Whole Earth recipes. On this topic Whole Earth would like to say, "Whole Earth uses palm oil to keep products fresh and stop ingredients from separating, without the need for artificial preservatives.

Palm Oil is found in areas of Asia, Africa and South America and many rainforests are at the risk of being endangered due to wide scale use and unsustainable production. The palm oil industry is, however, an important source of income for many local communities and Whole Earth has become a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil: a global initiative that encourages the sustainable production of palm oil.

Whole Earth is committed to sourcing and using certified sustainable palm oil in its products, to ensure that the rainforests and their inhabitants are here to stay."

footflapper · 06/09/2013 08:34

Just received mine Grin Thanks

nooka · 06/09/2013 08:46

I'm not in the UK anymore and wondered why the peanuts only peanut butter we have here always separates but Whole Earth doesn't. Sounds like maybe that's the palm oil? It is very nice peanut butter.

Looking at the OP is it really necessary for Whole Earth to have all that 'mums buy / mums know' rubbish? People buy peanut butter, sometimes they let their children have some too Grin. I hate it when 'mums' is used in advertising it really really puts my back up, dads go shopping/feed their families too!

choccyp1g · 06/09/2013 12:44

But it doesn't matter if it separates. The Sun-Pat jars used to say "Churn well" in other words, "Stir it with a spoon".

Mine arrived this morning. Had some on toast for lunch. It was quite nice but not as nice as my usual brand. (Sainsbury's own)

choccyp1g · 06/09/2013 12:45

Now I'll try my other peanut butter recipe, "Eating it on a spoon".

Same comment as above.

supermariossister · 06/09/2013 13:56

received today, smells really nice and the product design jar looks good. was easily spread despite being chunky and the flavour was rich it does leave a dry aftertaste though.

Dc will be tempted to try on digestive biscuits so will let you know how that goes. I think this would be really good in baking as the flavour and smell is quite rich.

talkingnonsense · 06/09/2013 14:45

I like it cos it doesn't have added sugar, but I expect if you like something like sunpat it might taste a bit odd. (Autocorrect made sunpat subpar, it clearly agrees with me!)

bryonywhisker · 06/09/2013 16:20

just opened mine and had some on a wholemeal crust Grin Grin Initial thoughts : like that there isn't a layer of oil; like it looks like peanuts and not brown goo; like spreadability; like no sugar.
However my big dislike is it isn't salty enough. In fact it's erring on the side of bland. I added a twist of sea salt to one half and the flavour sprang out. And I am not an over salty junkie person.
Will try tweaking some of my regular cookies to include it this weekend

goldface · 06/09/2013 22:45

Mine is on its way!! Dowe have to use it in proper recipes? I am more your 'peanutbutteroutthejarwhennoonelooking' type of gal...
