I have been using it as well as my usual moisturiser.

I wanted to add, now that I've been using it for awhile, that not only is it not making me breakout, my spots are actually less than with my old moisturiser, which was Clean & Clear which is, theoretically, for spots!

What am I going to do with these tube of C&C I got on sale now....

Apologies for my late response. My CC cream only arrived on Thursday nd since then my house has been struck down with a truly horrendous bug and I have barely had the time or strength to wash my face let alone apply product.

Anyway, today is my second day of testing - I hope I will be able to add more comments after a slightly longer trial.

Overall impressions: I love the look of Clinique packaging, always think it looks simple and stylish. I've never used a BB or a CC cream before so didn't really know what to expect. I have the fair shade as I am very pasty skinned. When I first squeezed some cream out I thought that it looked very dark but when I applied it (after moisturiser) it blended in very well. Thought the texture was slightly dry and would have preferred it to be a bit creamier. Love the fact that it has SPF 30 - my current moisturiser has SPF15 but a lot of them seem to have no SPF at all. I think the CC cream has definitely evened out my skin tone and I feel that it has made my skin look quite healthy.

As I say this is very much a first impressions response and I will post more in a few days. Its too earlÅ· for me to say if I would continue to buy it in the future. It's more expensive than I would usually buy but if I think the results are good enough I would definitely invest. I'm 40 this year and need all the help I can get!

  • What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?

I liked it! Nice texture, went on well.

Skin looks more refined, more even. Not used to wearing foundation etc, but it feels quite weightless.

  • How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?

Lovely light texture, not greasy.

  • How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?

Yep, easy to apply, easy to blend.

  • Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?

After getting sunburnt at the weekend I'm keen to use products with an inbuilt SPF.

  • Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not?

I would like to. Price a little high for me.

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?

Yes, I would. Nice product that does what it says.

What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?

Was not quite sure whether it is supposed to be a tinted moisturiser, a primer or a foundation.
In the instructions it said it can go on before foundation to give a more even base. It did even out red bits so a good overall first impression.

Did you notice any particular difference to the look and/or feel of your skin? If so, please say how.

It does give a good overall coverage. However, my skin is very dry so the CC cream will tend to sink into lines unless I moisturise before applying it. My teenage daughter said it makes my face looked tanned (got medium) so good for this time of year!

How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?

Similar to a very creamy foundation.

How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?

Easy! It blends into my skin very well and quickly.

Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?

Very important. SPF 30 is much higher than my usual brands.

Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes I probably will. I currently use it at least twice a day and have done for 2 weeks. There still seems to be plenty left in the tube. Also I have very sensitive skin but this caused no flare ups at all! It enhances my skin so I am happy to pay a bit extra.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?

Yes, I would, for reasons above.

What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?

Loved the packaging, very sleek and expensive looking. The cream itself was a lot thicker than I was expecting and the colour was a bit too dark for me unfortunately. The staying power seems very good.

Did you notice any particular difference to the look and/or feel of your skin? If so, please say how.

It made my skin look smoother overall and was dewy when I first put it on. As the day wore on, oilier areas stayed dewy but drier areas became less dewy but didn't look dry.

How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?

Smooth, creamy and quite thick, more like a foundation.

How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?

Easy to apply and blends in very easily. You don't need a lot and it's a "buildable" product. You could use a little and blend it in to improve the look of your skin or use more for more coverage and a more "made-up" look.

Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?

Very, I always use a sunscreen before foundationa and this would do away with the need for that.

Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not

I think I need to try the lighter one as it's so hard to tell when it's too dark for me skin. If the lighter shade was suitable, then yes, I could see myself using it.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?

A friend actually asked what I had on my skin yesterday as she said my skin looked great, very glowing! I would recommend it as a slightly heavier coverage than the BB cream.

What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?

A practical and easily portable skincare product. Packaging is attractive and easily located in a busy make-up bag. The cream feels comfortable on.

Did you notice any particular difference to the look and/or feel of your skin? If so, please say how.

No, but this is a good thing! No additional oiliness or dryness which other products can cause.

How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?
Smooth and pleasant

How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?

Quite difficult - I have large pores on my cheeks which the cream sat in and made it quite difficult to blend. Did not look good on my nose (nothing ever does though)

Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?

Extremely, as I burn very easily.

Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not?

Yes, because of all the tinted sunscreens I have tried it is by far the best. I really appreciate the fact it is fragrance-free and doesn't make my T-zone oily. Although it isn't really moisturising enough on it's own, as it doesn't make my face feel "product heavy" this is ok.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?

Yes, because it worked for me and was unscented.

Coming back after a few more days testing to say I really like this product. My skin is looking very even-toned, one person asked if I'd been away as I apparently look very healthy and my sister described my skin as "dewy".
I'm applying a very small amount every morning after moisturiser so hopefully the tube should last for ages and therefore more likely that I'll buy it again as I couldn't afford it very often.

And I'm loving the spf30 in this weather. Have recommended it to people and would continue to do so.

Report
RachelHRD · 06/06/2013 20:23

Overall impressions -
I like the packaging - sleek, nice small nozzle so less chance of ending up with too much product or it smeared over the end of the tube. The cream itself has a nice smooth consistency and is easy to apply and doesn't have a strong cosmetic smell.

Differences to look/feel if skin -
The cream blends in well and I don't get the over made-up feel I get with other foundation/tinted moisturiser. I think it evens out my skin tone and doesn't highlight my dry areas like some products do.

Describe the texture -
It's smooth but neither too oily or powdery. It's also quite light unlike some foundations/moisturisers. I'm really impressed how it wears - I inevitably end up with an oily t-zone with other products but for once this hasn't left my skin greasy and shiny.

How important is the SPF30? -
I can be a bit lax with making sure I use sun cream as I'm generally too busy sorting out the kids so the added SPF is great. Especially as I'm nearing my mid 40's so need to start taking more care of my skin.

Will you continue to use it? -
I am very impressed with the CC cream and would certainly like to continue using it. The only prohibitive factor for me is the cost as I'm on a tight budget.

Would you recommend the CC cream? -
Definitely I am really impressed with how well it wears.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the review thread - I've been on holiday and couldn't face trying to type up a review on my phone!

What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?

The packaging is simple but with a quality product feel to it and the tube is great at delivering a small amount of the cream, which is all you need!

When I applied to be a tester I had the impression that the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream was a tinted moisturiser with added sunscreen, but now I've tried it I don't think that this is the case! It's a much richer cream than a tinted moisturiser and doesn't have the "instant moisturisation" of one either.

Even after reading the blurb (again) and packaging info I'm still not sure what this product is aiming/claiming to "be" - tinted moisturiser with sunscreen/foundation with sunscreen and moisturiser/colour correction cream for use under foundation (with added moisturiser and sunscreen)...

Maybe I'm being particularly dense Clinique are being purposely vague about quite what role this product has? Maybe it doesn't matter...

Did you notice any particular difference to the look and/or feel of your skin? If so, please say how.

Yes! Annoyingly it does make a big difference to the look of my skin - it evened out the colour and made my skin appear a lot smoother (as noticed by others too). I usually use a mineral foundation, which I did love for the ease of applying it and the coverage it gave, but after using this I realise I can do better!

I haven't noticed it being particularly moisturising, but maybe I need to compare it to other similar products out there.

How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?

As the only cream I've applied to my face in a long time is moisturiser this is a bit of a tricky question for me. Obviously it isn't as smooth and light as a moisturiser and is certainly thicker and creamier than the liquid/mousse type foundations and tinted moisturisers I used back in my twenties. However it isn't at all powdery and does have a nice feel to it.

How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?

I was expecting it to be more moisturising than it is, so applied it onto freshly washed skin the first couple of times and did struggle with it a bit in terms of blending the colour into my skin, it seemed to "dry" quite quickly and leave me with uneven marks.

In part this is due to the fact that applying this kind of product is so different from my usual haphazard application of mineral foundation with a brush! However I also realised that I did need to apply moisturiser before the CC cream and this has eased the application process a lot.

Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?

I have mixed feelings about this! If recent research is to be believed then we may be "over-protecting" our skin from the sun and when the sun screen is included in a product like this you can't pick and choose when to use it.

However I'm not great at remembering to apply a separate sunscreen to my face and tend to just rely on the protection factor of whatever make up and moisturiser I have on (which often isn't much!) It's probably best to have it included, but I wouldn't mind a CC cream without the sun protection for the winter months. (I could probably do with having two different shades anyway!)

Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not?

I think it's fairly clear that I will be continuing to use it and replacing the tube with a new one when required! A little goes a long way though so fingers crossed it won't be too soon as I'm currently trying to cut down on my "luxuries" spending.

I should also add that I probably would not have tried this product if it hadn't been for this opportunity - I thought I was perfectly happy with my mineral foundation (and it's cost!) and definitely needed a free sample to get me interested (and hooked!)

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?

Yes. My only reservation about it would be the cost as not all of my friends are in a financial position where they can afford to splurge on something like this, no matter how nice it makes their skin look.

What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?
As soon as I used the CC cream, I noticed the difference and could see that my skin time looked more even and smooth.

Did you notice any particular difference to the look and/or feel of your skin? If so, please say how.
My skin felt and looked softer. My skin tone appeared noticeably more even and I looked less tired.

How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?
A luxurious texture. Quite creamy

How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?
Very easy to blend in. Goes on more like moisturiser than foundation.

Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?
SPF 30 is a good selling point and essential for me.

Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not?
Yes I will. I have been very impressed with this new product and I think it will become an essential.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?
Yes, I definitely would.

So sorry for the delay in responding, with the weather being so hot I've been plastering sun block on instead!
Overall impression, I like the creamy texture, I don't need much product at all, so can see it lasting a good while, and it really calms my rosy cheeks.
My skin looks much smoother, less shine, less red, and generally more like I wish it was naturally. It does however show my hairs up more! Blush
The product is a lovely texture, creamy, not too runny. I don't like the smell though, but it does wear off quickly thankfully.
I found the cream really really easy to put on, such a pleasure to apply.
I love the fact it has factor 30 in it, one less thing to think about on a morning.
I will enjoy using the product you sent me, and I'm sure I will get used to the smell, the more I use it. I may ask for it for birthday/Christmas treats, it should last me in between dates! I do find I need to put on my normal moisturiser first as I do have dry skin. I will certainly recommend it to friends.
Thank you so much for letting me trial the product Smile

Sorry about the late response - been away (took my CC cream with me) and am on phone so having to try to remember the questions!

My sample came without a box but came with a lovely friendly covering note from MNHQ (handwritten) apologising. I couldn't have cared less about a box but the note made my day! Thank you!

The tube is exactly like the Estée Lauder foundation tube which I have used for years so quantity control wasn't a problem - although I soon discovered I don't need as much CC cream as I do foundation.

When I first applied it, I was slightly horrified as it seemed to clog in every pore and highlight the tiny hairs, but I have found that if I use a serum underneath it, it goes on lovely.

Sometimes my skin can be a bit blotchy, and I think this has helped with the overall tone. I did have a few spots last week in the hot weather and it concealed the pink skin nicer than previous products and the areas didn't go dry whilst healing.

My skin has felt smoother, although I have been using a serum too which I've previously been too lazy to do so definitely an improvement.

I would recommend to a friend however non of my friends would look to me for beauty tips as they're all so glam!

Thank you so much for choosing me to trial this product - it has given me the chance to pamper myself in the name of research Grin

  • What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?

As with another has already said, I too had been a little confused and believed it was going to be more of a tinted moisturizer. When it arrived I slapped some on and got a shock when I looked in the mirror (had applied without a mirror !)
  • Did you notice any particular difference to the look and/or feel of your skin? If so, please say how.

My skin certainly looked better with it than without, however I do need a moisture underneath it.
  • How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?

It felt nice in my fingers and very creamy.
  • How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?

It was quite easy however I'm really not used to using a cream foundation and did worry about how easily I would be able to make it look nature but I shouldn't have worried it was fine.
  • Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?

For me I'm not sure how much you could rely on the fact it had that in it so would always apply my normal sunscreen. But better than not having it.
  • Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not?

Whilst it was easier than I thought I won't be using it everyday. I don't use makeup everyday that won't be changing however rather than the powder I used to use I will probably be using this instead
  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?

I would as it is a lovely product that feel great and looks great.

Thank you for letting me try this. It's certainly not something I would have gone out and purchased myself but I'm so glad I do have this in my makeup bag now.

What were your overall impressions of the Clinique CC cream?
It looked very posh!

  • Did you notice any particular difference to the look and/or feel of your skin? If so, please say how.

My skin looked a lot more uniform - less blotchy and red, and teh wrinkles were slightly harder to spot. Less usefully, my skin felt dry and tight when I wore it without mixing it with moisturiser, and i was very aware that I was wearing it, but that could be because I never usually wear foundation (and only moisturise when I remember...)

  • How would you describe the texture of the CC cream?

It felt very thick and creamy.

  • How easy or difficult did you find applying the cream?

Very dificult to get even coverage, as it felt it was dragging my skin. It was much easier and gave a better finish when I mixed it with my usual (Avon) moisturiser.

  • Clinique CC cream has SPF 30, how important, if at all, is this to you?

Very important.

  • Do you think you will continue to use the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream in the future? If so, why? If not why not?

I would love to, but I can't afford to. I'll have to eke out this tube for as long as I can!

  • If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream to a friend or relative? If so, why, if not why not?

I would, but with the caveat that it is, in my view, very expensive.

Just wanted to add an update on this product!

So, the original Clinique CC cream that I tested lasted for 2 months. This was with me using it at least twice a day, sometimes 3 times a day.

This product worked so well for me that when it ran out I bought another - Clinique were running a promotion so I bought a mascara as well and got a few freebies - make up bag, lipstick, mascara, pot of cream and a few other bits.

Am just back from holiday where there was 40 degree heat. Every morning I would put the Clinique CC cream on my face and usual suntan lotion on the rest of me.

My face did not burn at all and I did not look like a tomato head sitting by the pool. The 30 sun factor thing worked for me.

Thank you for letting me test this product and I will be using it again! Smile
