Sorry for the slow response. I've driven to 3 different supermarkets on the hunt for the elusive rice pudding. No luck so i'll have to feed back on that later.

  1. First impressions were good. Bright and informative. It's a brand I know and trust so I probably would have picked them up and tried them even if I hadn't been invited to take part in this survey.
  2. The pots were probably slightly on the large side for my 8 month old as a pudding, but about right as a meal on it's own (eg breakfast). Just the right size for older two DCs (3 and 5) as a pudding.
  3. The baby loved both yoghurts and fromage frais. Can't wait to try her on the rice pudding. She kept grabbing the spoon from my hand and slurped them all down in no time. The older two were less impressed. They only tried the FF and wouldn't go near the yoghurt. DD1 (3) pulled faces throughout, but finished it. DS (3) declared his 'the yuckiest taste ever' and refused to finish it (so I ate it and really liked it). Strange as my DCs normally love all things yoghurty.
  4. The baby (Ella's biggest fan) seemed to enjoy the banana ones best.
  5. First served them to all 3 DCs as pudding after their evening meal. Have since given the remainder to 8 month old baby as a meal in its own right.
  6. See answer to q3. Hugely popular with 8 month old baby. Big thumbs down from 3 year old DS.
  7. Slightly expensive but I would be happy to pay it for a good quality product which my DCs will enjoy.
  8. I may well buy them again for the baby. It's a shame they weren't a hit with the older DC. Obviously it's easier to have something in the fridge that they can all eat . But I don't mind having some things specifically for the baby as she is weaning. I am looking forward to trying the rice pudding and will report back!

When's the deadline for this? Struggling to get the rice pudding. Tesco don't stock any of the range and the 2 Asdas that are near me only stock the yoghurt n fromage frais Blush

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
I thought it was obvious looking at the packs that they were Ella's Kitchen products - the packaging of all three packs tied in with the packaging seen on their other products. The labelling was clear and informative, but without bombarding you with too much information.
Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
I thought they were a bit on the small side for my 2.5 year old, but just right for my 10 month old.
Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
The consistency of all three products was fine for both my 2.5 year old and my 10 month old. My 2.5 year old ate everything and scrapped the pots till there was none left. My 10 month old enjoyed the fromage frais and the yoghurt, but he didn't like the rice pudding.
Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
It's hard to say, as neither can tell me, but I'd say the yoghurt!
Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
We had them after a meal.
Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
I think both of mine would have eaten more had there been more!
Q7 What do you think of the price?
Expensive.
Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
I would buy them if they were at the same price point as the Yeo Valley yoghurts I normally buy for them. I didn't think they were superior to the Yeo Valley ones, so that's why I wouldn't pay more for them. Also, I expected ALL the pots to be linked together, like most yoghurts are when you buy they, but they're in twos. So when I was trying to get the cardboard packaging off the yoghurts, I just held onto one yoghurt pot thinking that that would be mean that I would have all four held, but when I managed to get the cardboard off, the two that weren't linked to the yoghurt pot I was holding fell onto the floor and one broke open.

Sorry for slow response, had trouble finding them, finally got them in Asda in Charlton, then once I had them dd decided to get noroConfused so no tasting, she's finally had a taste of all 3 Grin

Q1 first impression of the packs-how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?

I like the packs, very kid friendly and they stood out in the fridge.

Q2 did you think the size of the pots was right for your lo?

I think the rice pot and the fromage frais were perfect size for dd who is 22 months, the yoghurt pot size was prob a bit big for her, but des who is 3 and a dustbin had no probs finishing his sisters leftoversWink

Q3 taste test, what was the verdict? How was the consistency/texture of the puddings?

I thought the yoghurt and fromage frais were a nice smooth texture but didn't like the texture of the rice pot, it was sticky and slimey...

Q4 which product was your Los favourite?
Def the mango fromage frais for dd, ds liked the strawberry and pear yoghurt.

Q5 when did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?

I gave them as an after school/ afternoon snack, but would also give them at lunchtime.

Q6 child's point of view: what did your lo say/ indicate?

Well dd isn't much of a talker, but she did ask for " more" of the mango fromage frais, she spat out the rice after about 2 mouthfuls, ds said all 3 were lovely and asked for more especially the yoghurt.

Q7 what did you think of the price?

I actually thought the pricing was reasonable, I expected them to be more expensive.

Q8 overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?

I think they were really tasty, healthy snacks, reasonably priced, and not too sweet, I would def buy them again, and my older dc would more than likely eat them too Smile

Thanks very much for choosing me as a tester!

Q1 first impression of the packs-how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?

I thought they were bright and appealing to children and Los very identifiable as the 'Ella' brand

Q2 did you think the size of the pots was right for your lo?

The ff was ok for 18mo ds2 but too small for ds1 (4). Yogurt was about right as was the rice pudding

Q3 taste test, what was the verdict? How was the consistency/texture of the puddings?

The yogurts and the ff went down well although they were initially spat out as they're a bit more 'tart' that their normal yogurts but once they realised I wasn't not out to poison them the boys loved the flavours. The rice pudding...not so much I enjoyed them tho. Both of the boys can be a bit funny about textures and I think that put them off. I do keep buying rice pudding for them me to see if they'll see the light but its not happened yet more for me then:) the texture of the yogurts/ff was good

Q4 which product was your Los favourite

The ff

Q5 when did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?

Both

Q6 child's point of view: what did your lo say/ indicate?

After the initial 'mother what the hell are you feeding me?!' Ds2 wanted more after the first pot. Ds1 asked for a pot specifically later.

Q7 what did you think of the price?

Ok, a bit higher than normal so I'll probably buy them when they're on offer

Q8 overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?

Another good product from the Ella range! Yes, I'll buy again as I feel better about giving these products to the dc than other brands as they're a lot healthier and have far less added sugar/ crap.

Thanks for the product test opportunity, the ds's thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
Really liked the packaging design - bright colours, strong images, attractive
Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
Fromage frais perfect, yogurt a little on the large size - 2 year old often had some left over, couldn't track down the rice pudding at all
Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
Consistency and texture was nice and creamy, taste was subtle across all flavours - from my point of view the taste was too subtle. Some of the other organic kids yogurts on the market offer a more fruity flavour, which my LO seems to prefer
Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite banana fromage frais
Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal? mainly after a meal
Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate? he took more persuading than he generally would to continue eating. On the whole he finished the fromage frais, but not the yogurt
Q7 What do you think of the price? On the high side for the yogurt and fromage frais
Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not? Would consider trying again to see if LO gets used to them, but more likely to if they are on offer. Otherwise unlikely to pull me away from buying his normal organic brand.

We got the yoghurts today so am back to report on them!

Again - I think the cardboard is unnecessary, although having said that there is lots of info on there you probably couldn't fit on the pots.

Again - pleased to have a change in flavours from the usual suspects.

Served after pudding and my dd (7mo) didn't finish the pot, but this was mainly because she'd had a massive first course and I decided she'd had enough when she started chewing the table cloth instead of looking at me and my spoon. Her first taste of pineapple and she seemed to like it (but she likes food of most descriptions, it would appear...)

Might be useful to have a re-closable lid? Like a mini version of the great big yoghurt pots? I know you are supposed to eat it on the same day as opening but it would mean you could store it for mum to eat when the baby is in bed supper time without having to faff with cling film.

I too have saved the pots for future use :)

They're a little pricey for my budget, but I will buy them again if they're on offer.

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
I liked the design of the packaging - in line with the other EK products, and they are easily identifiable on the shelf. I don't have any issues or concerns with the labelling.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
My DS is 10m, and overall I think the pots are about the right size for him at the moment, except for the yoghurt, which I feel is a little on the large side given how thick it is. He has sometimes been a bit sick after eating one of the yoghurts, which I think is just because they are so thick.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
The yoghurt is thicker than yoghurts I would normally buy/eat/give to DS - however he enjoyed both flavours. He also liked the fromage frais. I think the flavours of the yoghurts and fromage frais arewell chosen, as they are a little different to the usual standard flavours available.
I thought the rice pudding was yummy, and the amount of raspberry was just right, however DS didn't like it at all - I think it was just too glutinous for him. He tolerated it a little longer the second time, when I heated it up, but after a few mouthfuls he just kept gagging. I got to finish it off though Grin

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
I think the mango fromage frais was his favourite

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
They are always given after a meal, as a pudding

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
He always leans forward and indicates that he wants more fromage frais, he obviously really enjoys that one. Again, the gagging and face pulling at the rice pudding showed he didn't really like that. He was relatively indifferent about the yoghurts, although he ate all of them.

Q7 What do you think of the price?
I think the price is quite fair, although I probably wouldn't buy them for everyday consumption, as I tend to give him natural yoghurt with fruit puree when we are at home which is much cheaper.

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
Overall I was happy with the products, and would certainly buy the fromage frais again to use when we are out of the house. I may try the rice pudding again when he is a bit older. I probably won't buy the yoghurts again as I think they are too thick for him.

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
It's bright, colourful and eye-catching. It reflects very well the Ella's kitchen brand.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
The size was right for my 7 months old.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
The fromage frais and yoghurt went down very nicely while the rice pudding was not so good as the 7 months old is not too keen on lumpy food but I'm working on on it. The consistency for the fromage frais and yoghurt were just right, smooth and creamy.

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
The formage frais and yoghurt was a hit with my little one.

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
After a meal.

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
My little one can't talk but sign of excited after couple of spoons which I take it she loved. Whereas the rice pudding she was not to keen as she is still on weaning phase she doesn't like lumpy food that much.

Q7 What do you think of the price?
It's a bit expensive compare to other chilled pudding for babies and children.

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
Overall I like the Ella's chilled product, I will only buy it if they were on offer as it's quite expensive.

Like others, we couldn't find the rice pudding anywhere so all our answers apply to the yoghurts and fromages frais.

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design
appeal to you?
Very appealing - bright, uncluttered, stands out on the shelves, very much in keeping with the Ella's Kitchen brand.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
The size was perfect - not too much, not too little for our 15 month old.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
Our daughter loved all of the flavours. Consistency/texture was no different to other competitive products, so familiar to our LO. She seemed to like these more than her usual yoghurts / fromages frais and would choose the Ella's Kitchen range if given a choice. From my POV, these seemed less sweet than other brands on the market, which is a good thing.

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
Banana fromage frais - she cried when she finished a pot.

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
They were served as part of lunch or after dinner.

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
See Q3, she liked them v much.

Q7 What do you think of the price?
Too expensive, especially when compared to other brands.

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
Think they're great and an obvious hit in our household although I probably wouldn't buy them unless they were on special offer.

Hi - finally managed to get round to posting
Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?

The packaging was really attractive ? nice and colourful and stood out on the shelf.
Again agree with previous posters, that the cardboard outer is not needed.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?

Yes, as he is starting to get to an age where one of his normal fromage frais is not enough for him but other more ?adult? yoghurts are way too big

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?

Rice Pudding: Couldn?t find this sorry! I will be making one more trip to the supermarket at the weekend and can go to Asda, rather than Tesco to see if I can get this

Yoghurts: Nice creamy smooth texture, lovely flavours. DS polished it off and said ?niiiiice? while rubbing his tummy furiously Grin

Fromage Frais: Didn?t seem overly keen on the banana flavoured one (I don?t eat fromage frais so didn?t try) but the mango one was wolfed down.
Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite

Mango Fromage Frais or either of the yoghurts.

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?

I served them as a snack as DS eats all his meals at nursery in the week and doesn?t tend to need more food when he gets home.
On a weekend I would probably serve the fromage frais after lunch and or as a snack.

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?

Yoghurts: Nice!

Fromage Frais: Mango ? yummy

Q7 What do you think of the price?

I found the The RRP to be a little above the price I would normally pay for a ?staple? . I think £1.75 would be more reasonable.

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?

I think we will try them again as Ella?s Kitchen is a brand we have adopted in our house since DS was born and have always liked the quality of the products.
I do think, however, that we will look out for 2 for 1 offers and the like as these are a little too dear.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?

Yes - slightly larger than some other similar products but not adult sized.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?

Me and DD liked the yoghurts and fromage frais but not quite so struck on the rice pudding - it was fine but DD wasn't keen.

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite

Pineapple yoghurt

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?

Both!

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?

Q7 What do you think of the price?

Bit too expensive

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?

I will buy the yoghurts as my DD liked them so much, but will try and look out for them on offer.

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite.
Fromage frais
Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?

Sorry if this means you were unable to take part.

Ella's Kitchen apologise if this causes a problem and say "Hi there, we?re sorry, we aren?t able to find out which exact stores stock the products, but you are most likely to find them in Asda stores, then Waitrose, larger Tesco stores and online from Ocado."

Well finally managed to get all 3 products after spending 15 minutes managing to persuade 4 different members of Asda staff that they were allowed to accept the vouchers!!! Grrrrr!! So here goes...
Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
Lovely bright packing, easy to spot on the shelf and distinctive as being Ellas Kitchen.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
Yes perfect for a toddler..not too big and not too small.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
Consistency and texture of all 3 seemed just right to me. 2yr old DD2 loved the yogurts and fromage frais, wolfed them down without a second thought. She didn't like the rice pudding though; she spat it out and said "no like it!!" However DD1 age 7 yrs was happy to take it off her hands & said it was delicious warm or cold but that the pot was too small and she could have eaten 3!! She also enjoyed the yogurts & fromage frais..said they were creamy and tasted nice & fruity but not as sweet as they usually are. DH & I also tasted them all and agree they taste good in flavour & consistency though I didn't like the banana fromage frais, it somehow tasted artificial?

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
DD1 age 7 yrs loved the rice pudding..DD2 age 2yrs loved the mango fromage frais..I've put this as her favourite as this was the one she asked for "more pease" of!!

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
Both!!

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
See above.."more pease" of mango fromage frais; spat out the rice pudding "no hike (like!) it and ate all the rest without question. Also worth knowing that when they were in the fridge even though they were "hidden" she managed to find them and brought them to me saying "Livys!!! Have one??!!" Even though there were other yogurts/fromagefrais in the fridge that she already knew as being hers!

Q7 What do you think of the price?
Seem more expensive in comparison to other similar products eg Rachels Organics and Yeo Valley Organic..that said I usually buy them when on special offer. Lots more expensive than the non organic Petit Filous, Little Stars, Wildlife pots etc. Also noticed that Asda was cheaper for them than Tesco.

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
I would buy the yogurts and fromage frais again if they were on promotion or if the standard price point was lowered. I would not buy the rice pudding again as DD2 didn't like it and DD1 would want to eat 2 at a time!!!

I did manage to get massively fussy eater DS to try the strawberry and pear yoghurt and he really enjoyed it! Couldn't get him to try mango & pineapple for love nor money though Confused Maybe you could create some more simple flavours? I had to tell a big fat fib to get him to even try the strawberry and pear one! ( it's just plain strawberry, honest!)

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
The labelling makes it clear that it is the Ella's Kitchen Range. Having one main block colour (red, orange or blue) does make is stand out from the other brands.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
My daughter is 11 months and eats like a horse. I thought the yoghurt one was on the large side but she still polished it off no problems, but may not be the case for other 11 months olds. All the other ones were the right size for her.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
Yoghurts were a bit bland I thought and i think having citrus (ie pineapple) in a yoghurt isn't quite right. But dd wasn't bothered
The fromage frais were nicer and the colour not too artificially orange. The flavour was quite subtle though. DD liked them though
The rice pudding was good, we tend to have shops own which can be a bit liquidy.

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
All of them?!?!?! She can't tell me but if i was to pick for her we'll go for mango fromage frais

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
We had them as dessert after tea (evening meal)

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
Didn't say anything but was quite keen to grap the loaded spoon off me and shovel it in!

Q7 What do you think of the price?
EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!! The flavours were really bland and subtle and for a fraction of the price a 35p pot of greek yoghut which probably does 2-3 portions and a bit of fruit is far more tastier and ALOT cheaper. I don't tend to get branded 'kids' stuff for this reason so don't really know how it compares to say petit filous.

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
Probably not for the reason above. There are more cost effective ways of having a yummy pudding ie natural yoghurt and fruit, or shops own rice pudding that the whole family can have. If they were on offer of i had a voucher i might get them as a treat, but on the whole i wont be rushing out for them

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?

Yes - loved the packs - really nice and bright and very easy to spot on the shelf.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?

Yes - great portion size for my children. The fromage frais was great for my baby and the yoghurts for the bigger children.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?

All were very popular. My baby, 4yo and 6yo all liked the yoghurt and fromage frais and the bigger ones liked the rice pudding. No complaints.

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite

The rice pudding but I think that's partly because we don't often have that - it was more novelty.

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?

As pudding after a meal.

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?

Yummy. The 4yo and 6yo do love characters, jokes, gimmicks etc. so they would have liked something along these lines. Adding something like that would definitely increase the age range these appeal to in my opinion - this is useful for families trying to please multiple age groups.

Q7 What do you think of the price?

Fairly dear - I would probably only buy when there was a 2 for... or similar offer.

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?

Yes but only if they are available in Sainsburys where I do my main shop and only if on offer - I tend to only ever buy yoghurts on offer as there's always one on. The one exception might be the rice pudding as that's a little different and makes a change so I'd go more out of my way for it.

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
The pack was very nice, stood out straight away when I finally found them (3rd attempt), the kind of packaging I've come to expect from ella's kitchen, bright and appealing.

Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
The yoghurt is a bit big but I'm sure he'll polish it off anyway, the are were perfect.

Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings?
I tasted a little and the mango fromage frais was nice, ds definetely enjoyed it but hasn't managed to try any more

Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
Has only tried one.

Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
After a meal as a pudding

Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
Loved the mango fromage frais, it was gone in no time unlike the rest of his lunch!
Hasn't gotten to try any more.

Q7 What do you think of the price?
A bit expensive

Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
I'll probably buy them when on offer or as a treat

Q1 First impressions of the packs - how was the labelling? Did the pack design appeal to you?
Very clear branding and obvious it is ella's kitchen in the chiller aisle recognise the pack and found the colours stick out prominently.
Q2 Did you think the size of the pots was right for your LO?
Yes she is 19 months and does not eat a lot so these pot sizes were perfect
Q3 Taste test: what was the verdict? How was the consistency/ texture of the puddings? I had to persist to get her to eat them at first because they are rather sour and bitter compared to Petits Filous which my LO is used to but I persisted because am convinced they have less sugar and are better for her. We did not manage to try the rice pudding it was too hard to get hold off after trying 4 local supermarkets.
Q4 Which product was your LO's favourite
Mango fromage frais - I wish I could just buy a pack of mango flavoured as my LO is fussy and not too bothered about the other flavours.
Q5 When did you serve them up? As a snack or after a meal?
as a pudding after lunch or tea one per a day
Q6 Child's view point: what did your LO say/ indicate?
at forst did not like as not as sweet as expected but now she says 'yum yum' and guides the spoon in my hand to get to her mouth quicker!
Q7 What do you think of the price?
Price reasonable will buy them
Q8 Overall: your overall view? Will you buy them again? Why/ why not?
Yes trusted brand I feel good about giving my LO these.
