In April some Mumsnetters took part in an online focus group for Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons and gave feedback on the websites their children use and their views on the new concept site for Cadbury. This helped shape the development of the site and it is now ready to be launched! Cadbury would love to know what you think about the site now so would like MNers to evaluate the real thing.

The site is designed for children aged 3-7 and allows you to create interactive stories. Please visit www.cadburybuttons.com with your child (if you have more than one child aged 3-7 please visit with one of them) sometime over the next few days then return to this thread and add your feedback by completing the survey.

Everyone who tries the Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons site, completes this short survey and adds their details at the end will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky winner will win a £100 Amazon voucher and Cadbury hamper.

Many thanks and good luck

Done!

OverflowingMum · 09/08/2010 08:43

also done.
did it with 3 yr old...tbh he was too young for it.Site looked good, nice colourful graphics... Initially he liked the colourful pictures but V quickly got bored.
Also takes AGES for each page to load... NOT what you need with little ones waiting LOL
Might try it with my 4 yr old or 6 yr old later...
But tbh I would MUCH rather share a real book with them and spend time chatting about the book/pictures/story etc than have them sat in front of a screen.....Hmm

DOB wording needs rewritten - took mae ages to work out it my MY age they wanted!

DD1(4.6) and I did like the site at first, it was very bright and inviting but the pages take ages to load, adn then while you re reading, to have to stop and click on the question and the 'actions' means the story gets interupted after every sentence with a question whic was very irritating. And DD1 insisted on clicking on everything.
The story seemed a bit too long for her attention because of this and when it had finished she didn't realise at first.

Also, we have finished reading the book but cannot see where to find another one.

SwansEatQuince · 09/08/2010 14:10

It took quite a while to load and it was slightly confusing re birth dates.

Three year old became restless whilst I tried to figure out which page was which. I don't like the pdf format and detested 'moo juice'.

Sorry but I found the site a bit irritating and confusing to use and load but the illustrations were good.

Oh, I meant to add that DD1 cannot read yet so needed me to help her navigate/read the story/questions. When I let her have a go on her own it did not seem as intuitive as other children's sites (poisson rouge, cbeebies) which she can use by herself without me needing to read/help all the time. Although I am with her she prefers to be able to do it herself so got cross with waiting for me to tell her what everything said. An option to read the story out loud woudl have helped.

I don't think we will go back on the site tbh, too many other sites that do better.

Brilliant website..really good fun!

TheChewyToffeeMum · 09/08/2010 17:04

I agree not as intuitive as Cbeebies and Poisson Rouge.
