hassled, it's a lose / lose situation: if I win, two little boys may cry. If I lose, I've been outclassed by children.

Still, it's not the first time I've wanted to beat two kids on live TV

cocolepew · 23/11/2009 12:31

Dappy is from NDubz or sumfink. I think he and his 'band' mates are being questioned over a rape atm. But I could be wrong.

BecauseImWorthIt · 23/11/2009 12:32

... and do you think we're a nest of vipers, fluffy mummies or intelligent women interested in a good debate?

(although the latter might be difficult to discern amongst all the fawning)

Botbot · 23/11/2009 12:32

Boo! I was CONVINCED you'd have been a semi-spod like me, who used to pretend to watch Tiswas in order to look cool, when in actual fact I was a big fan of Swap Shop and used to spend a lot of time painstakingly designing clothes for Maggie Philbin.

And my other, more interesting question??? Hmmm?

sallydecker · 23/11/2009 12:32

Charlie,

I'm not sure what to wear today.

Any ideas?

TheFoosa · 23/11/2009 12:32

Is Dappy the one with the funny hats? He's a big Phil Collins fan doncha know

GypsyMoth · 23/11/2009 12:32

i have just googled images of Charlie Brooker.....had nooo idea what you looked like!!

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 12:33

picklesflatman, David Mitchell is a boilerhouse of pure sexual energy. Every time I meet him I act all aggressive without realising it, because I'm suppressing the urge to get all Gone With The Wind on his arse.

blinder · 23/11/2009 12:33

charlie - how much stuff could you not tell us on newswipe? it was brilliantly revealing, but I did wonder if you could have gone further?

slug · 23/11/2009 12:33

Hi Charlie

When you have time you might to watch these which I can't decide if they are either the funniest or the most offensive videos on youtube. Probably both

Francasaysrelax · 23/11/2009 12:33

Charlie, in the recent webchat with Gordon Brown I asked him how embarassing it was to meet Mr Berlusconi... he didn't answer of course. How embarassing do you think it is for him then?

JustineMumsnet · 23/11/2009 12:34

Hi Charlie,
Can I ask a standard question? What was the childhood book that influenced you most?
.

cassiemac · 23/11/2009 12:34

What is your book about and would it be appropriate for a 13 year old boy who thinks you're the coolest guy in the world?

;)

JackBauer · 23/11/2009 12:34

Doing very well so far, do you want us to stroke your ego and tell you how much better than Cameron/Brown/everyone else you are?

Fuck, sorry, I'm fawning again, aren't I?

angelene · 23/11/2009 12:34

Thank you for your Jan Moir column.

A more visceral, righteously angry and downright fantastic piece of wirting I have yet to read.

Utterly utterly wonderful.

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 12:35

To those asking about the Guardian photo expression -- it's artificial bemusement. I didn't want a photo taken. They did it round the back of my house. I'm actually standing outside in it, against a garden wall.

ThatVikRinA22 · 23/11/2009 12:35

charlie,

(i made it! im not out due to DD being ill- thanks DD, ill pay you later)

are you planning on writing any more dramas or screenplays?

and is screen wipe coming back? i like the format - grumpy man shouts at telly, as i find myself shouting at the telly more and more these days. (not that i REALLY think your grumpy you understand...)

ta.

JackBauer · 23/11/2009 12:35

Justine. Probably best not to look.

ChoChoSan · 23/11/2009 12:36

Mitchell has the dead, black eyes of someone who has looked into the void...

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 12:37

JustineMumsNet, my favourite childhood books were Mr. Bump, the Crack-a-Joke Book, and so on. I read mainly non-fiction although I also liked Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected.

As a teenager it was Catch-22 and The Magus.

I still mainly read non-fiction. A lot of fiction really annoys me. I just think the writer's trying to show off the whole time and end up spinning the book across the room.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 23/11/2009 12:37

Hi Charlie, I'm a big fan of yours but some of the things you say are fairly offensive and often more than a bit defamatory, and I was just wondering whether the usual dose of media schooling the other slebs seem to receive (in order to render them utterly neutral) is optional, or whether you have had it but you just don't give a crap about offending people? Just how censored are you, and how bad would you be if you weren't? Thanks.

TheFoosa · 23/11/2009 12:37

Is it very depressing watching tv all day?

personally I would love it but it would be a rapid slide into obesity for me
