Er, the papers may be dying, but the bright online future of their websites is just beginning. Or something like that.

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 13:12

BitofFun, not that aware of Alabama 3. Did they do the Sopranos theme? That's alright. Buzzcocks not as hard as first HIGNFY. That was terrifying.

Ponymum, I'm very satisfied at present.

MissGreatBritain · 23/11/2009 13:13

Yeah right

BecauseImWorthIt · 23/11/2009 13:13

I can't help but be sad though, that papers are seen to be dying.

Well, if the Sun and Daily Mail go I won't shed a tear, but personally there's nothing quite like an actual paper itself.

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 13:14

ohmeohmy, the suffering of innocents

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 13:14

posieparker, of course: many are, aren't they? Maybe not in the media but hey.

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 13:15

For the record, I like Bourbon Creams incidentally.

MissGreatBritain · 23/11/2009 13:15

Just like to say that you've been so much better than Gordon or Dave. Maybe YOU should be the next Prime Minister?

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 13:16

StewieGriffinsMom, I'm afraid I don't really watch either of them. I don't quite 'get' Family Guy; all the reference gags pile up and annoy me. Probably jealousy that I didn't create and write it myself, mind.

slug · 23/11/2009 13:16

Bourbon Creams? How wonderfully thrifty.

BitOfFun · 23/11/2009 13:16

You must check them out then- very funny and satirical, and they are all Cockneys who conned HBO into thinking they were pure Americana, which got them the Sopranos gig.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 23/11/2009 13:17

Did you have to consult consumer polls and ask a commitee before coming to your biccy conclusion there?

sausagerolemodel · 23/11/2009 13:17

Avoid embarrassing yourself in hip company (as I did) by noting the following.

The Alabama 3 are not from Alabama (they're from Brixton) and there aren't 3 of them (there are about 10)

posieparker · 23/11/2009 13:17

Well, I know there are, I am one, although not that well received...I prefer to think it's because I am a woman not because I am not funny!

I don't think cutting and witty women are very well liked, it's seen as more bitchy.

PS Bloody love you!

JackBauer · 23/11/2009 13:17

Bourbon Creams? For such a good chat you could have some of the secret stash in the cupboard we use to appease the youngest child when she kicks off.

BitOfFun · 23/11/2009 13:17

What will I line the budgie cage with if the papers die?

ThatVikRinA22 · 23/11/2009 13:17

yep - thanks charlie! nice one mumsnet HQ!

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 13:18

slug, the trick is to nibble all the biscuit away till you're left with a flat slice of 'cream'

podgesmummy · 23/11/2009 13:18

OOh i love the Magus. Its one of my fave books, but everyone usually looks at me weird when i say that..

JackBauer · 23/11/2009 13:18

It's been fairly surreal fun BTW.

Ponymum · 23/11/2009 13:18

Satisfied? Charlie Brooker is satisfied!? I never thought I'd hear the like. (But very happy for you, obviously.)

CharlieBrooker · 23/11/2009 13:18

I've been asked to use an emotion "to indicate an emotion I can't indicate in my writing".

But I don't like emoticons.

CatIsSleepy · 23/11/2009 13:19

Charlie, do you have to watch a lot of TV you know you're going to hate? Do you think this is bad for your soul?
