there is no place that is 'right' for such comments. but keep them coming as they expose you for what you are.

pollycazalet · 19/11/2009 15:14

The education answer was drivel too. They are going to improve standards and behaviour yada yada .....HOW? And "anyone with a passion for education" being able to open a school sounds seriously scary.

what posieparker said, but with rousing music.

GentleOtter · 19/11/2009 15:16

Riven, I really hope something positive comes out of this today for your sake (and those in a similar situation).

HarrietTheSpy · 19/11/2009 15:16

morningpaper!
Excuse me, the guy was chancellor for years before he stepped into the top job. After stamping his feet long and hard enough until he got it, after what was essentially a coup. He's hardly blameless here for the state the country is now now.

bossykate · 19/11/2009 15:16

gordon brown was a ton better than david cameron.

elkiedee · 19/11/2009 15:17

Isn't "anyone with a passion for education" actually "anyone with an interest in brainwashing and the money to back it up"?

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 19/11/2009 15:17

I would hate to lose the sense of immediacy you get in a thread like this, by having a panel. Surely all they need is someone to type up their answers as they dictate.

Jane Merrick, political editor of the Indie, Tweets: David Cameron just received equivalent of slow handclapping from Mumsnet women #mumsnet

NickNemo · 19/11/2009 15:17

Thanks Posie I like walnut and chocolate.

Seriously though, I would love to meet a party that will engage with me about the way legal immigrants are treated. We hear so much about illegal immigration, but the shameful way that legal immigrants, the doctors, nurses, university professors, scientists are treated is appalling. I work in a university and while I am terated with respect in my chosen profession, I have also had abuse on the streets, and once memorably have been told to 'go back home'.

The way the media demonise immigration is awful.

BecauseImWorthIt · 19/11/2009 15:17

Obvious lack of preparation makes it clear that MN isn't really considered to be that important. His presence is indicative of paying lipservice to our supposed importance and influence.

SkipToMyLou · 19/11/2009 15:17

Indeed Riven, but then you have more than half an idea what the answers are

TemazePam · 19/11/2009 15:18

I'm bitterly disappointed he didn't answer the HE questions.

I was planning to vote Tory this time around, but maybe not

spiritinthesky · 19/11/2009 15:18

yes, i agree with BecauseimWorthit, big sigh of relief cos he didnt redeem himself or even sound a good alternative.

posieparker · 19/11/2009 15:18

I was hoping that this would allow me to entertain the idea of voting Tory, but it hasn't at all.... he does seem like a nice bloke, but he really has no idea about the things that keep most of us from sleeping at night.

Andy Heath ('citizen-journalist') Tweets: @BevaniteEllie Are you seeing the Mumsnet Cameron chat? Not seen so much public hostility to Cameron in a long time.

preggersplayspop · 19/11/2009 15:19

I think the format would work if better prep was done - given such long gaps between (short) responses there was understandably a bit of banter and more Qs being posted.

I think a review of the format would be a good idea.

Its hard to come out of it looking good as it is, but that was a v poor effort.

colditz · 19/11/2009 15:19

To be honest, I was a swing voter. I don't like the state the country is in now. BUT

I have been persuaded that my life would be awful under a Conservative government.

And certainly no better than under a Labour governemtn.

I'm currently a working LP, what happens if I lose my job? I will be a single unemployed mother - the scum of the very Earth, according to the Tories! He's not going to particularly care what happens to me, I do not embody 'Family Values'.

David Cameron will leave us to starve, girls. MArk my words.

andagain · 19/11/2009 15:20

What a waste of time. He had 15 posts, I wouldn't call them answers though.
In one he said something like (after saying Brown messed up) "what a mess I inherited". He hasn't inherited anything yet!
Urgh, just confirms what I thought of him before.

colditz · 19/11/2009 15:20

I think at the very heart of it is this.

David Cameron has no conception of how much money £20 is.
