do you think DC will read and ponder these questions, and maybe answer them carefully in the next few days in the media? I don't think i'll see the thoughtful replies i wanted somehow .Dont think he said much at all.The cynic in me thinks he'll just pull bits of this stuff out to use when it suits him.

BecauseImWorthIt · 19/11/2009 15:08

ScattyKatty that is a truly, truly vile post. How on earth can you talk to a fellow human being like that?

You should be ashamed of yourself.

neenz · 19/11/2009 15:08

Agree with Molly re inheritence tax - £650k is more than enough tax-free.

£325k is more than enough.

I would rather inheritence was taxed than, say, income tax raised.

I have never understood why people think they should just get a load of dosh when their parents die - yes, your parents have worked hard all their lives and paid tax on that money, but you haven't.

thereistheball · 19/11/2009 15:09

Thanks for answering some of our questions Mr Cameron. Also, condolences for the loss of your son.

(MN was scariest, wasn't it?)

ScattyKatty · 19/11/2009 15:09

Labour activist? That's the single most hurtful thing I've ever heard

Peachy · 19/11/2009 15:10

Scatty

She has an ILTR stamp

Don't you think the staff would have been better off dealing with finding illegal immigrants, rather than tackiling those we have already assessed as being allowed to stay?

Because I definitely do.

mamamiji · 19/11/2009 15:10

Wow! How disappointing was that? And this man is lined up to lead this country!?
Couldn't even be bothered to prepare properly. Must think he has this election in the bag.

Well, for whatever it's worth Mumsnet organisers, thanks for putting this together. Please do post those 'lost' responses, if they are ever found.

D@*ned waste of a perfectly good afternoon to 'listen' to a person I hitherto considered a serious contender for my vote...

BecauseImWorthIt · 19/11/2009 15:10

I was worried he was going to come on here and say a whole load of inspiring stuff that would convince everyone that Labour is really not worth considering any more, and that Conservative is the way to go.

Thankfully there was nothing in what he said that even threatened to come anywhere near that.

Fluff.

OldManSwiss · 19/11/2009 15:10

That was sad.

It showed several things:

  1. Lack of preparation on the topic
  2. Lack of rehearsal with the tools
  3. Lack of aware advisory staff
  4. Lack of understanding of current tech issues.

For a possible leader of the nation that is simply not good enough.

This from an old man who thought he would watch to see how the young people did things.

He definitely does not deserve a

NickNemo · 19/11/2009 15:10

ScattyKatty, I'd like people to acknowledge that legal immigrants bring a huge amount of support to the UK economy. Without us there are a massive number of jobs that would be unfilled and a definite void in the economy. We pay a huge amount of taxes, claim no benefits and provide a great deal of economic stimulus.

We are asking for some respect... not a rant against illegal immigration or lines that start with...'those bloody immigrants'. I am not talking about illegal immigration!

onebatmother · 19/11/2009 15:10

Shame Skattycatty.

MadameDefarge · 19/11/2009 15:11

Is there something wrong with MN? No sign of a goodbye on my thread, but quoted on Guardian blog...

anyone got a link to twitter?

ZephirineDrouhin · 19/11/2009 15:11

I'm starting to wonder whether this webchat format is even remotely suited to the grilling of politicians. Would it work better to have a Mumsnet interviewer or panel presenting questions from the discussion thread? They would have the ability to press said politician with follow-up questions, so we might have a better chance of cutting through all the flannel.

Drafted in Labour activists?

That wasearly drafting then,,since I have been posting for 8 years now,and others similar

Blimey MN, well done for aforethought there!

Heathcliffscathy · 19/11/2009 15:11

this country would be on it's knees without it's migrant population.

skatty, was that a comedy post or are you really THAT jurassic in your views?

ohmeohmy · 19/11/2009 15:12

Hope Charlie Brookner is taking notes on mumsnetiquette

morningpaper · 19/11/2009 15:12

Dittany: Not intended to be barbed at all. I think GB is utterly brilliant, but got passed the country on a plate once it was on fire, which must be really REALLY annoying.

RTKangaMummy · 19/11/2009 15:12

I am soooooooooooooo disappointed with DC ~ I think he just said what the problems were with Labour without telling me what he would do for people like my parents

Honestly to expect people to save their money while they are teachers bringing up a family and paying taxes and NI

Then tell them that they can't have any help from the goverment BECAUSE they have saved their money is wrong IMHO

So they have to use all their savings to pay for carers in their home because one of them becomes disabled

So my tip to everyone is to NOT save any money because you will be penalized for it in the future

.

GentleOtter · 19/11/2009 15:12

They had a few days to view our questions, Zeph. Agree that it is not a great system as it is.

ohmeohmy · 19/11/2009 15:13

Brooker even

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 19/11/2009 15:13

Yes it was rubbish.

But bloody hell Skattycatty is this really the right place for such a hideous comment>

posieparker · 19/11/2009 15:14

NN, I would have given you a cake! And I would also like to thank the consultants that delivered my babies, the nurses that brought me my meds, the bus drivers that keep some cars off of our roads, the many many cleaners who make working parents lives a little easier, need I go on.

WilfSell · 19/11/2009 15:14

Yes. Format does not work. MNHQ have been talking about overhauling it and I do think we need to.
